Sen. Jim DeMint calls for GOP assessment of race, praises Romney!!!!
CNN
“I can tell conservatives from my perspective is that, I’m not only comfortable with Romney, I’m excited about the possibility of him possibly being our nominee,” DeMint said. “Again, this is not a formal endorsement and I do not intend to do that right now but I just think we just need to look at where we are.”
DeMint said Thursday he was “impressed” after his meeting with Romney.
“His leadership skills, the fact that he hasn’t lived his life in Washington. There’s a lot to like there,” DeMint said.
The other candidates in the race – including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum – need to make an honest assessment of where the race currently stands, DeMint said.

Rick Santorum prefers Barack Obama to Mitt Romney
Here is video of Rick Santorum today speaking in San Antonio, Texas
In Texas yesterday, Santorum suggested he’d reelect President Obama over Romney. “If you’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch-a-sketch candidate of the future,” he said.
Romney responded in a statement, “I was disappointed to hear that Rick Santorum would rather have Barack Obama as president than a Republican. … Any of the Republicans running would be better than President Obama and his record of failure.”

Wild Thing’s comment………
That was great from Sen. DeMint, he did not endorse Romney but he did pay him high compliments as to how he feels about him.
Regarding Santorum he has lost his senses. His jealousy or whatever it is toward Romney has become an obsession it seems. Either that or he hates him more then he hates or dislikes Obama. I can’t imagine anyone saying they would vote for Obama when we have a chance to get him out of office.
Plus Santorum is supposed to be a candidate in the Republican party, my gosh!!!
Unbelievable! Good that he is irreverent now. Like him or not, Romney is our only hope to get ride of pbo. Let’s get busy on the main show of tearing up ob and building up Romney.
Santorum seems to have a terrible time with his mouth moving. Many of his statements are self defeating. I think he is a very confused individual.
Odin, I agree about Romney.
Tom, I agree so much, Santorum has to keep backtracking…that is a very bad thing for someone wanting to be President. He won’t be able to do that as President with heads of State etc.
