Obama Blames Oil Companies for Lack of Domestic Drilling ~ STOP With Your LIES Obama! It Is YOUR Fault!

Obama Blames Oil Companies For Lack Of Drilling
IBD
In his Friday press conference to discuss gas prices, President Obama was rather defensive, straining to counter the notion that his administration has been unfriendly to oil drilling, something most people would like to see a lot more of these days.
Where do people get that notion? Perhaps his Interior Department appealing a judge’s ruling that it act on several pending deepwater permits had something to with it.
Obama claimed repeatedly that he is not against drilling, then made the following comments:

There is more we can do, however. For example, right now, the (oil) industry holds leases on tens of millions of acres — both offshore and on land — where they aren’t producing a thing. So I’ve directed the Interior Department to determine just how many of these leases are going undeveloped and report back to me within two weeks so that we can encourage companies to develop the leases they hold and produce American energy. People deserve to know that the energy they depend on is being developed in a timely manner.

In other words, Obama is arguing that the oil companies themselves may be to blame for the fact that there isn’t more drilling. For some reason they’re ignoring making a profit.
It’s a bizarro-world inversion of the usual complaint against oil companies — that they are reckless and all-too eager to despoil pristine lands in search of black gold.

Bill Clinton: Drilling delays ‘ridiculous’
Former President Bill Clinton said Friday that delays in offshore oil and gas drilling permits are “ridiculous” at a time when the economy is still rebuilding, according to attendees at the IHS CERAWeek conference.
Clinton spoke on a panel with former President George W. Bush that was closed to the media. Video of their moderated talk with IHS CERA Chairman Daniel Yergin was also prohibited.
But according to multiple people in the room, Clinton, surprisingly, agreed with Bush on many oil and gas issues, including criticism of delays in permitting offshore since last year’s Gulf of Mexico spill.

“Bush said all the things you’d expect him to say” on oil and gas issues, said Jim Noe, senior vice president at Hercules Offshore and executive director of the pro-drilling Shallow Water Energy Security Coalition. But Clinton added, “You’d be surprised to know that I agree with all that,” according to Noe and others in the room.

Clinton said there are “ridiculous delays in permitting when our economy doesn’t need it,” according to Noe and others.

“That was the most surprising thing they said,” Noe said.

The two former presidents both generally agreed on the need to get offshore drilling workers back on the job.

The return of “drill, baby, drill”
CBS

“The Obama Administration has consistently blocked American energy production that would lower costs and create new jobs,” House Speaker John Boehner said Thursday. “They’ve cancelled leases for new exploration, jeopardized new nuclear energy, and imposed a de facto drilling moratorium. They’ve even pushed a ‘cap and trade’ national energy tax that the president himself admitted would cause energy costs to ‘skyrocket.'”

Boehner was unveiling what he called the American Energy Initiative, a plan that he says will lower gas prices and create new jobs. It entails expanding American energy production, reversing government policies that he says drive up gas prices, and embarking on an “all of the above” strategy for domestic energy production.

Boehner’s comments were just one element of a GOP push to attack the Obama administration on gas prices.

On Fox Business Network Thursday, Wyoming Republican Sen. John Barrasso said, “what we’re doing is spending millions and millions of dollars and sending that money overseas to people who want to blow us up instead of doing what you know we should do, which is exploring for energy offshore, on federal land, and exploring in Alaska.”

Wild Thing’s comment……..
Gas Prices Have Gone Up 67 Percent Since Obama Became President…The Weekly Standard
Conservatives have known since forever that it is important to be able to drill. The list on the positive side out weigh anything that the enviros and FREAKS like Obama will say is a reason not to.
Plus those windmills that the left pushes are noisy and also kill tons of birds. Now how weird is that, the very thing the enviros push ( windmills) is killing birds and they claim that there can be no drilling because it is dangerous for certain animals or certain fish and birds. Proving the only thing they care about is killing off the oil industry and jobs NOT animals and birds etcc. Molre lies and obama is a total liar to blame the oil industry for not drilling. I swear I could not hate him more then I do for what he has done about this or not done. sheesh

BobF says:

Just because they hold leases on land doesn’t mean there’s oil there or it’s cost effective to get it out. Even if the oil is easy to get and plentiful, holding the lease and actual drilling is two things. The environmentalists will fight the drilling tooth-n-nail.
When gas gets to $10 per gallon and people realize it was environmentalists and their Democrat cohorts who caused it, it wouldn’t be good to be one of them.

I have a feeling that the obammy’s policy toward drilling here is going to change. I figure when some of his tree hugger friends start to get hurt for starters.
But the dick head does not seem to comprehend that the economic engine requires diesel and gasoline. Transportation is the keystone of commerce. With out transportation nothing happens. And when the trucks stop running and the trains are down to moving only essential goods, it will come home to roost.

TomR, armed in Texas says:

obama doesn’t care about the cost or availibility of fuel. He and his entourages have plenty and the taxpayers are footing the bill. Besides, high energy costs help obama in his Marxist plan to ruin our economy.

Mark says:

Thats like blaming your girl friend for getting pregnant. Now he wants to drain OUR oil reserves, when thats gone then what. The man needs to be impeached…NOW.

gator says:

In a sense of the word he is right, they have the Prez and the legislature in their hip pocket. BP gave the people of Louisiana the finger and there is that million BP gave to Obama’s PAC..The oil companies
have stifled the development of alterative energy, the do zone pricing, the more affluent the neighborhood the higher the price. Refining mutable octane grades when in the day of computer controlled engines one
will do just fine. And for the high price of Oil and Gasoline, it is raised by fear and greed. Speculators
and Hedge fund brokers raise the price of all commodities by playing fast and loose with the truth..As
It’s been said nothing has changed on the street,it’s the same bunch of robber barons.. Hank Paulson
bought 2 million shares of Goldman-Sachs and has made 12.5 billion from the deal. A lot of people
feel he should be doing time with Bernie Madoff..Ol Obumbo was supposed to clean up the mess and
what has he done, Bueller, Bueller????

Wild Thing says:

Great input thank you all so much, it really means a lot to me.

Avitar says:

Drilling Hell! He doesn’t even support workable renewable energy. The United States has three super volcano sites, Yellow Stone Caldera, the Long Valley Caldera near Mammoth Lake in CA and Valles Caldera in New Mexico. I know that Long Valley and Yellow Stone have multiple times more Geo-thermal energy potential than the total energy the USA uses. You would lose two-thirds in transport to the east coast but electricity should be dirt cheap anywhere west of the Mississippi. Let the rest of the country run on Nuclear energy and Liquefy Coal for cars and Planes for the next thousand years.

No! Obama instead of building what we know and already have throws money at things that can never work. (New England where I live only gets an average of less than three hours of sunshine a day.)

Avitar says:

I’m a little concerned about ‘gator’ he is sounding a little paranoid.

There are a lot of reasons that the market does not work effectively at their core they are usually pretty dumb, like much of the world does not run computer controlled engines.

It is always important to distinguish between stupidity and intent. Hate them both after all stupid leaders have killed many times the numbers as evil ones have but always be able to tell the difference.

I want everyone to be certain that Obama is doing this because he is a moron and not an evil genus.

gator says:

Don’t worry about me Amigo, worry about the banks
and the folks who took the bailout money and won’t
loan any of it out.Thank the Hedge fund and speculators who drive the price of Oil not the Arabs. Goldman Sachs, we make money the old fashoned way we steal it..

Dave 18Zulu says:

Wont take long for the enviros to call for a halt to any further nuclear plants. They will start pointing to Japan and its plants going down after the quake.

gator says:

A computer controlled engine refers to the fact that there is no distributor, hence it controls the spark as the
RPM rises and falls, it also adjusts for the load the vehicle is carrying and regulates the fuel mixture..99.9%
of the cars coming off each and every manufactures assembly line use this system in one form or the other
and have been since the mid eighties..
