Normandy Speech: Ceremony Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion, D-Day 6/6/84
.
D-Day, June 6, 1944
Allied Forces led by the United States launched the D-Day Invasion of Europe, June 6, 1944. It was a day that history looks back to as pivotal, because it marked the beginning of the end for Hitler and his Third Reich.
President Ronald Reagan went to Normandy to mark the 40th anniversary of D-Day. His powerful speech is a fitting reminder of what took place on those beaches that day.
I MISS him!!!
Will this nation ever see a President like Ronald Reagan again?
I think we will have another Ronald Reagan soon, also Think there are a few out there too.
This June 6, 1984 D-Day speech by President Ronald Reagan is an excellent choice to post here as a retort to the complete silence of June 6, 2010 and the absence of any Presidential commemorative recognition to this most decisive victory against tyranny by the greatest armada ever assembled in the history of the world.
It is interesting to note that Ronald Reagan, who negotiated treaties, substantially reduced nuclear arsenals, brought down the iron curtain liberating millions of Eastern Europeans, and defeated the Soviet Union ending the Cold War without ever firing a single shot, was never awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.
How quickly those Scandinavians forget their liberation from Nazi occupation sixty-six Summers ago, and what a strange and dangerous view of the world they hold today.
Awesome thank you all so much.
BobF., I pray so much for that.
Mark, I sure hope so, we can’t survive as a country with these horrible people in office.
Carlos, thank you.
