Charles Krauthammer discusses Obama’s 17 minute answer to a tax question at a Townhall event last week…
“It’s only nine times longer than the Gettysburg Address.”
Charles Krauthammer on the president’s jibber-jabbering:
“I don’t know why your surprised. It’s only nine times longer than the Gettysburg Address. And, after all Lincoln was answering an easier question on the higher purpose of the union and soldiers that fall in battle. Look the president had an easy answer. He could have said, “Hey I wanted to make history with health care and to do it and to make the CBO numbers look OK I had to raise your taxes. Sure it’s not a good time economically in the middle of a recession but politically I had to because I have a window a majority in Congress and I’m going to lose in November.” End of answer.”

Obama’s 17-minute, 2,500-word response to woman’s claim of being ‘over-taxed’
Washington Post
During the Q&A session at the end of a speech at a battery technology manufacturer, a woman named Doris stood to ask the president whether it was a “wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care” package.
“We are over-taxed as it is,” Doris said bluntly.
She thought she would get a simple freakin’ answer for a simple freakin’ question.
It took Obama full of himself, 17 minutes, 12 seconds, and more than 2500 words to answer that freakin’ question. And, he “wandered from topic to topic,” doing that dance-around-an-actual-answer thing that he does so very well.
“Halfway through, an audience member on the riser yawned.”
Obama seemed to recognize that he had gone on too long. He apologized — in keeping with the spirit of the moment, not once, but twice. “Boy, that was a long answer. I’m sorry,” he said, drawing nervous laughter that sounded somewhat like relief as he wrapped up.
But, he said: “I hope I answered your question.”

Wild Thing’s comment……..
The people indeed are all overtaxed, burdened, no generation has ever had to pay the amount of taxes this one will have to pay, and the next generation will have even MORE to pay.
Makes me think of obama’s campaign rhetoric, “Words, they’re just words”. Words are obviously numerous and cheap to obama. A 17 minute answer to a simple question. Seventeen minutes of trying to find the right lie.
He’s knows she’s right. That’s why he tried to BS her for 20 minutes. Like talking to a wall, you never get an answer just a lot reflected glare.
It’s his usual tactic when not telepromptered. Dominate the time with useless babble and try to escape before someone asks an embarassing question. Like “Who do you work for?”
