Great video. It has the sacred whop, whop, whop of the Huey blades. Joe Galloway was a reporter at the Battle of the Ia Drang Valley. He co wrote, “We Were Soldiers Once, and Young” with Col. Hal Moore, the US commander of the battle. This battle was the initiation of the airmobile concept and the US force was the First Air Cav.
That was good. “Soldiers once and Young”. When I think back on it…sometimes it seems like yesterday…til I look in the mirror. It sure has been a long time ago. Thanks for the trip down memory land.
Semper Fi.
That was great! As a former grunt with the 25th ID and then a door gunner with the 173rd AHC (Robin Hoods) who’s Huey was used in “In The Shadow Of The Blade”I will never ever forget those days of death defying flying in and out of hot zones and the interaction of the crews during those difficult and crazy times. Welcome home to everyone!
Tom, I love the sound. Thank for sharing about the moive and Joe Galloway.
Mark, thank you, time seems to go so fast in many ways.
Eddie, thank you for sharing it means a lot.
Thank you Dustoff 22
