Carnival In Germany Has Float ” Obama the Loser”

A carnival float representing a fallen Barack Obama, with the words “Obama as messiah” on his shirt, is pictured during the traditional Rose Monday carnival parade in the western German city of Duesseldorf, February 15, 2010. The Rose Monday parades in Cologne, Mainz and Duesseldorf are the highlight of the German street carnival season.

Looks like it translates to, “Obama, the Loser,” to me. Either way, it looks like the rose is off the bloom in Germany.

The translation of Erloser from Ferman is savior. The picture presumably refers to a recent movie, “Jesus Christus Erlöser” (2008). It appears as though Obama was compared to the latest Klaus Kinski character.

Obama Float at this years Mardi Gras Parade
Mardi Gras has become a celebration of vice before forty days of, well, supposed virtue. It’s one of those fun curiosities about the culturally Christian world: People eat and drink gluttonously as a sort of religious observance.
One of the ways vice is simultaneously vilified and celebrated is on the floats that parade through New Orleans, filled with masked people who throw beads and toys to the passersby. In one parade this year, spectators enjoy a hilarious twenty-float lineup of what one might call winners of the Greatest Vices of the Year:
Senator Edwards, Senator Vitter, and Governor Sanford are spotlighted on a lust-themed float as “Politicians Gone Wild!”;
New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nabin is painted “asleep at the wheel,” accused of negligence and bad time management on a sloth-themed float; and Bernard Madoff appears on a pyramid as “Pharaoh Made-off” on a greed-themed float that describes him as “the modern-day Judas who was traitor to his own tribe for only 20 million pieces of silver.”
On a pride-themed float called “Experiment of His Own Power,” Obama is compared to “The Proud One” of Dante’s Inferno, posing with his Nobel Peace Prize medal, next to several other representations of him—along with Oscar and Heisman Trophy awards, he appears as a five-star general, president of General Motors, and as the “healthcare-expert” Surgeon General—all engulfed by the flames of hell.
Is this the rant of a few comic float-makers, or is it a sign of a graver discontent Obama faces from the American people? For many, it’s looking grim: The effect his leadership has had on Katrina recovery-efforts, for instance, is at least as questionable as the promised improvements in foreign policy and economic stimulus.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
LOL Obama mocked in Germany and New Orleans all in one week. Have a nice day Obama….NOT!

…. Thank you Jim for sending this to me.

TomR says:

I guess a lot of Germans listened to obama’s Berlin speech and picked him for the catastrophe he is. This is really funny and telling that Europeans, who are generally to the left of Americans, choose to mock the most leftist president of most of our lives.

Curmudgeon says:

Actually, it translates as “Obama The Redeemer”, or “Obama the Savior”. But the mockery is clear. The bloom is off the stinking rose.

jan says:

This stuff is LOL funny! Der Erloser! YA!!!!!! ;O)

Jack says:

Feet of clay comes to mind, the fallen redeemer is appropriate when they worship false gods like the son of Soros.
I wonder how much money Germany contributed to get the Black mullah elected, certainly they had to have contributed to the Nobel fund.
Financing of informational activities: The companies Nobel Web AB, Nobel Museum AB, Nobel Media AB in Stockholm as well as the Nobel Peace Center Foundation in Oslo are all externally financed, e.g. via subsidies from state or local governments, corporate sponsors, educational organisations and philanthropic entities. How much of Obama’s Nobel funds came from inside the US?
Maybe the Merkelite’s are just feeling shortchanged.

Mark says:

This from the land of Merkel, the Frau isn’t particularly fond of Meister obama either. I think she sees right through his phony facade.

Wild Thing says:

Tom, I agree, I had the same reaction.
Curmudgeon, thank you so much for the correction. I really appreciate it. I agree too, the mockery is clear.
Jan, I hate that he is our countries president but it did have me laughing that they can see through him when he said that time we should all be more like Europe.
Jack, that migiht be it too, good point.
Mark, I think she does too. There were plenty of photos too of the two of them and she alwasy had that look like she was just going through it and not a fan of his at all.

Nearly off topic, but pertinent just the same:
Obama administration recognizes George W. Bush
I’ve just heard that the Obama Administration will be honoring the 43rd President of the United States by naming the gap between the tectonic plates beneath Haiti after him.
The area will now officially be referred to as “Bush’s Fault.”
