The best way to “Spread the Wealth Around”
by Colonel Bob Pappas, USMC, Retired
In the interest of getting directly to the point, the solution to the economic mess Bush and Obama have created is to allow free market capitalism to work, (as distinct from Robber Barron CEOs and/or Wall Street neither of which are capitalism but are legalized robbery and gambling and need to be reined in). What follows are seven short, easy lessons.
Lesson # 1: Giving a three thousand dollar tax credit to businesses for each employee hired is a non-starter in an economy where there is no need for additional employees. That may be okay in government but is not okay where one has to make a profit to remain in business.
Lesson # 2: Forcing unions down the throats of businesses raises costs because of union scale wages increase costs to consumers, decreases profit margins, decreases business activity resulting in lost jobs which increases unemployment taxes and further exacerbates economic problems.
Lesson # 3: Increasing taxes increases funds to “spread the wealth around” but decreases funds available to income generators and associated business activity which decreases government revenues, and thus decreases funds available to “spread the wealth around.”
Lesson # 4: Recalling back to the second or third grade, spending money that does not exist, then printing it to bring it into existence is a form of theft.
Lesson # 5: Lesson 4 above, devalues all dollars and decreases the ability of all dollar holders to purchase goods and services because #4 inflates the costs of all goods and services in relation to the dollar. Thus it decreases business activity and revenues for the government to “spread the wealth around.”
Lesson # 6: Increasing the cost of fuel via front and back door taxes increases the cost to move products and directly raises the cost of the product therefore decreasing sales and profit which decreases instant and overall business activity, leads to lost jobs and associated revenue to the government for “spreading the wealth around.”
Lesson # 7: Lowering taxes and cutting unnecessary programs makes more funds available for consumption and expansion, increases business activity and associated revenues and thus increases overall volume and amount of revenue to the government; thus more money is available for stimulus spending, shovel ready projects, and what the hell, “spreading the wealth around.”
This is just a start but, get the picture?
Recommendation: Hire some people who have hands on business experience!

I get a letter once a week from my Congressman, ( Good Ole’ Blue dog Chris Carney) an update type. This week he said he was giving Seminars at different locations around the area, for contractors on how to bid jobs for Government contracts.
The whole problem, bidding on a Government Job, you or your company, almost, the law doesn’t say it but this is where it is aimed, have to be Union. In order to bid on one of these choice Pork-laden, last for ever jobs. Not only that, you have to meet all all the Government regulations, OSHA, EPA, all these take extra money. Thanks to Roosevelt’s ‘Davis-Bacon’ Act of 1932(?) and various new regulations, they seem to invent every year. Davis-Bacon talks about competitive wages, and Union scale wages. This law was originally designed to keep Black Contractors out of bidding on Government Jobs. Today, however, it works to keep the Non-Union shops out of bidding process for Government Jobs.
This is especially true in Big Cities, where the Unions have their grubby hands squeezed around the local politicians’ gonads. In 1990 I worked in Cleveland for a large Non union Electrical Contractor and the boss wanted to bid on the Electric for the New Cleveland Browns Stadium, our bids were rejected out of hand, because…, our shop was NON-Union…Davis-Bacon again aka government interference with free enterprise.
Nothing this dolt(aka, Porfessor obama) comes up with is going to work. Its Socialism and socialism and Capitalism , aka, free enterprise can’t live together without the whole system collapsing. This I think is where we are headed.

I agree with Mark. Too many govt. contracts call for union labor. Even in right to work states. obama understands rip-offs and pay-backs. He does not understand economics.

Wild Thing says:

Mark, thanks for sharing about what Carney does sending emails and updates. Also I agree so much with what you said.
Tom, your right that is exactly right about Obama.
