Newt Gingrich on Sean Hannity’s show “explaining” why he endorsed Scozzafava and saying that he “deeply regrets” she was chosen by the 11 local county chairs.
When asked what he would say to Conservatives that are angry at him Newt answered “they have every right to be angry, I don’t blame them,” he went on to say “I think she was the wrong nominee and I think it was a terrible position.”
Wild Thing’s comment……..
LOL Newt won’t say HE himself was wrong. He didn’t actually admit to a mistake of himself. I heard him say that the Liberal woman was picked by a panel of 11 Republicans on the local level and he, being an outsider, felt that he should not go against their wishes. In other words, he would not stand on the right thing to do but stand on party lines. Big mistake Newt.
He is going to learn another lesson too. We remember all the things he has done to hurt Conservatives.
He obviously didn’t do his homework very well, did he? But what gets me is that over 6700 still voted for the rino! That’s totally insane! No one has any excuse for voting for sommeone who wasn’t running. It was all over the news. How could you miss it? She was obviously a plant by the dums and so many fell for it hook, line and sinker. Being endorsed by Acorn should have told Newt something about her character.
The fact is that Gingrich and Steele helped elect a democrat in NY 23 by endorsing a liberal RINO. Gingrich should have been in the forefront with Sarah Palin endorsing Hoffman.
Yeah sounds like old Newton is into a little damage control. He screwed up and lost a lot of credibility on this one. It seems he has bought into the notion, that the Reagan Era is dead. That we should move on with ‘democrat-like’ candidates.
Time to throw out both him and Steele.
I really don’t get him. He was saying on Hannity’s radio show yesterday that we need more “centrists”. Uh, no jackass we need conservatives not centrists that’s how we got the 2008 election results.
P.S. I have this very unnerving feeling that conservatism is on the decline here in my beloved Texas. I’m talking about the tossup between Rick Perry and KBH and the recent democRat gains in the Texas House. There are too many useful idiots, stupid people, rich yankee libs, and illegal aliens in this state. Does anyone else feel that way? Or, am I wrong?
Newt the Waffler. What a maroon.
His having the toughest time trying to figure which side of the Republican Party, to become a part of.
He confuses numbers with beliefs. He thinks that if we get enough Republicans electesd, regardless of whether they are RINOs or not, that it will make a difference. Wrong.
Look at the defections and political gameplaying that has taken place since Obama took office. Pols like Graham etc., are only interested in personal advancement and power. The benefits to the constiuents are secondary.
If we as Conservatives are to gain any ground at all, we must ignore people like Gingrich and follow the lead of the Palins, and Bachmans.
KBH is no conservative and that’s why she is challenging Perry. John, visit “Texas Fred” where you’ll see some very hard line no nonsense Conservatives from Texas.
Newt did very well with his Contract with America in 94. Since then he has been in a steady decline away from conservative values. On ocassion he writes very good articles about conservatism, but his actions then void his previous article. Newt is used up. He trips over his ego and has no control over his vanity.
John – Kaye Bailey Hutchinson has proven on several ocassions to not be a true conservative. I will be voting for Perry/Dewhurst who have kept the Texas economy the best in the nation. I have not noticed a decline in conservatism in Texas. Wait until the 2010 election. Also, remember that some Texas Democrats are more conservative than Yankee Repubs.
Thanks Chrissie. We can’t lose sight of the fact that Newt plays both sides against the middle. It goes back to “watch what he says and see what he does”. I view the Machiavellian Newt as a smarter more polished portly version of John McCain. Both Gingrich and Steele are like wood ticks, their heads are buried in Democrats, their bodies bloated from sucking up and they can’t see a conservative in sight.
I have your six Mark, throw them both out. New Yorkers, you can tell ’em but you can’t tell ’em much. Lynn, Newt didn’t do any homework, especially on the fallout, it was the same old party line garbage he has upheld all along, I’m allowing for Chocolate City transplants on those 6700 Dummkopfs who voted for Scozzafava after she told them she quit, it may have been early write in’s too. They remind me of the three orphaned calves, I saw once on a hunting trip, they had an old bull cornered near the range land entrance gate, he was defeated and frazzled with their ‘butting’, three days later I came out, they were still there looking much worse, this is what he created, those calves didn’t have a clue that he wasn’t mom, but I’ll bet his ‘udder’ sure was bruised.
Remember Bloomberg spent millions of his own money to buy his New York ‘job’, I never heard a peep of criticism from the GOP about that either, kick backs must really be good during this recession. Like Gingrich the GOP heads were focused on Scozzafava winning and denigrating Doug Hoffman. Hoffman didn’t win, but, hey, 43% for an unknown is pretty impressive in my neck of the woods. No more shots across the Bow, direct hits are in order. No more incumbents!!!
Also, I fear Newt is considering running for president in 2012. All he will do is divide the Repub votes and water down a conservative surge. He is very good at debate and I fear he would hurt another conservative candidate like Palin by attacking her and driving off a lot of independents. Newt is bad news for real conservatives.
Thank you everyone so much.
I agree, he was a different man back when
he did his ” Contract with America” in 94.
Tom, I heard something about his wanting
to run for President too. I hope he learned
from this lastest experience he will never
win. He has put Palin down too and we don’t
forget such things.
