Don’t Mess With A Marine!

One of Team Theodore Mark wrote to his Congressman and this is the response he received back from him:

Dear Mark,

Thank you for your message regarding health insurance reform. Hearing from the people of northeast and central Pennsylvania is an integral part of my job in Congress and I appreciate you taking the time to contact me.

Legislators from both political parties and the vast majority of Americans believe that some sort of health reform is needed. The real debate is focused on how best to improve the system. I was one of the Blue Dog Democrats who worked to slow the process down to provide the American people with enough time to be heard and to provide Congress with the time to get the job done right. Getting it done right means that everyone who wants to keep their current doctor and insurance can, that people with preexisting conditions are not discriminated against, and that the plan doesn’t add to the deficit.

That being said, the rising cost of our current health care system is unsustainable for working families and small businesses. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation and Health Research Educational Trust, from 2000 to 2007, premiums increased by 98 percent while wages only increased by 23 percent. Increasing health care costs also threaten our nation’s ability to compete in the global economy. In the past ten years, the cost of health insurance to businesses has increased 140 percent. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that spending on health care and related activities will total $2.6 trillion in 2009 – 17 percent of our gross domestic product. Finally, forty-six million Americans are completely without health insurance, including over one million people from Pennsylvania.

As you know, the House of Representatives is currently considering health reform legislation, H.R. 3200, the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. In late July, the Committees on Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, and Education and Labor considered and passed differing version of H.R. 3200. These must be reconciled before the full House of Representatives can consider this legislation. A vote on passage in the House may take place this fall, but I will continue to fight to ensure that the process is not rushed by artificial deadlines.

The Senate is also working on comprehensive health reform legislation. The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee already passed a bill, but the Senate Finance Committee has yet to complete its version.

I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind as Congress considers H.R. 3200 and health reform legislation. Thank you again for contacting me and please keep in touch.

Sincerely,
Christopher P. Carney
Member of Congress

Dear Congressman:
I finally received your letter. I had sent mine out almost a month ago. Glad to see congress is so timely.
Obviously, it sounds from the tone of your letter/E-mail your mind is made up and you are voting for Rationed Nationalized Health Care. The kind of Health Care that Has Not worked in The Former Soviet Union, China, Bulgaria,Former East Germany, Hungary,France, United Kingdom and Canada. But you People, who by the way are smarter than God, know whats best for the rest of us Peons .
You talk about how there are so many people without Health Insurance, and even 1 Million of them in Pennsylvania. Whether you know it or not, They can get Health Care anytime they want it. My sister-in-Law is one of those cases. She has made arrangements to pay for her cancer surgery. But under the Rationed Care you so willingly promote, she would not have been allowed the surgery because she is almost 59. So she would be invited to an ‘End of Life’ counseling session, by some no-name Government Bureaucrat, to learn how to deal with the pain and her ultimate demise. (aka Death Panel) So don’t tell me they don’t exist, it is in the bill had you bothered to read the damn thing: Section 1233, page 425. Yes Sir, congressman I have read your bill. It is the only way your system could possibly work with any efficiency.
So what you are saying you want the rest of us to pay for Health Care for people who won’t/can’t or just don’t care whether they pay their bills. It isn’t good enough for us to pay mortgages of people who have no business even having a mortgage in the first place, we should pay for their Health Care too. Also in that number you cited, there are also 12-20 million Illegals that we would be paying Health Insurance.
Don’t try to deny it, Laraza and other Hispanic groups are in huge support of the Rationed Government Socialist Health Care Plan.
In Your wonderful Government Rationed Health Care Bill, the government would make all the decisions, the patient would have no say in any matter concerning his/her health, just some no name cold hearted liberal bureaucrat in Washington who could care less whether someone dies early or maybe lingers on for another week will make that decision.
You call yourself a ‘Blue Dog’ democrat, supposedly because you voted for Ronald Reagan, I don’t believe you are a Blue Dog at all. First of all you are not even old enough to have voted for Renaldus Magnus and second if you vote for this lame excuse of a Bill that would hand over 1/6 of the U.S. economy to a government that can’t even take care of its own Veterans nor run Health Care on an Indian Reservation how in hell can it run a system for the whole country.
So Congressman Canery, pseudo Blue Dog democrat, You probably won’t even see this Email, but that’s ok the whole internet will.
Mark

Wild Thing’s comment……..
This is fantastic. It is so seldom that any politician actually writes back as you all know, and I love how Mark did not let him off the hook even though his Congressman did respond. When they don’t get it, when they won’t listen we can’t give up.
Thank you Mark for letting me share your response for everyone to read.

….Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

Right on, Mark.

TomR says:

Good letter Mark. Luckily for me my letters to my US Congressman are very short. Jeb Hensarling(R-Tex5) is a very conservative legislator.
Both of my Senators are Republican, but occassionally one of them has to be reminded why they were sent to DC. Also my Governor Rick Perry and my state rep and senator are very conservative. My few letters to my politicians are usually letters of thanks and support.
If you have a legislator that is voting the way you like it is a good idea to let them know that you are appreciative and supportive of them.

Rhod says:

Great work, Mark. He was shovelling some sh**.

Eddie (Obama Hater) says:

Mark, I get the same type letters from by commie Senators (Feinstein/Boxer) When you send an e-mail there is a section you check about the content of your letter. Formatted reply letters are then automatically sent regarding that topic. Believe me, these 2 bit ass lickers are far to busy screwing over us and destroying our country to have any interest in what you and I and others think. If were up to me, they’d all be swinging from big Texas oak trees.

Get this Bear Nation… Just mailed THE VA a check for $8 after being BILLED at a VA Hospital last month for an eye examination and a bottle of visine drops! Though I may be 50% disabled, I realized the OBAMANATION that is just starting! I’ll go to my family physician next time and give him the BU$INE$$… SCREW the VA!

JohnE PFC U.S. Army says:

I really don’t have to write my congressman (Ron Paul) because He’ll vote “No” on this like he does for everything else. Who I do have to worry about is Hutchison who has lost the right to call herself a Conservative.
Oh, and Senator Hutchison, (because “Ma’am” I guess seems insulting from us Military Guys) I hope Perry kicks your a** in the Texas gubernatorial election. We Texans don’t want to be all “go along get along” with a Washington Puppet like you.

Mark says:

As I said, he probably wouldn’t even read this but it made me feel better. But you know I wasn’t alone in this letter writing campaign, the whole country is on a tear over this health care scam. And they too know, that this isn’t about health care or insurance it about control. I have heard countless people say this same thing to their Congressmen and Senators.
As Rush said today, we got to keep the pressure on these lowlife bastards, keep them on the move so they can’t settle, or lite like a fly and spread their vermon, in any one spot and hide like they are wont to do.
If we win this Tax and crap is next, we must hand obama one defeat anfer another until he is so beaten down he will want to quit. This war is just beginning, there is a long way to go.

Jim says:

Thanks Mark. Sounds like you need to throw your hat in the ring. I hate those canned response letters we get back from our representatives. They’ll get the message next year though.
