Obama Couple Have No Clue About Freedom Of Speech

Obama wants you to report “casual conversations” and “fishy” statements of your fellow Americans to the health care czar.
Burger Watch
New York Post page 6
MICHELLE Obama, like her husband, enjoys a good burger, but not as well done. The first lady brought daughters Malia and Sasha to former “Top Chef” contestant Spike Mendelsohn’sGood Stuff Eatery in DC for cheeseburgers, onion rings, fries, and milkshakes. “They got the burgers medium,” says a spy. (President Obama was mildly ridiculed after ordering a burger medium-well in January.) “Three starving Secret Service guys were literally standing over the grill as Spike made the burgers, but didn’t eat,” our source adds. Fellow patrons had their cellphones temporarily confiscated to prevent pictures from being taken.
The next time I hope Michelle O. lets everyone keep their cameras when she’s eating so all of America can be made aware that, for the first time in her adult life, she’s proud of her cheeseburger!

Obama trying to weaken FBI whistleblower protection?
The Examiner
It doesn’t take a long memory to recall that during the campaign, Barack Obama pledged to protect whistleblowers. However, something seems to have happened after he landed in the White House. Now his administration is trying to weaken protection for national security whistleblowers using legislation now in the hands Congress.
A whistleblower is an employee who blows the whistle or tells on an employer.
The protection means that employers can’t legally retaliate against them. For example, employers can’t legally discharge employees in retaliation for exercising their rights under laws that have protection provisions.
Under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, employers may not demote, suspend, threaten, harass or otherwise discriminate against an employee that blows the whistle. Generally, whistleblower protection rights are designed to encourage employees to halt, report or testify about employer acts that are illegal or unhealthy, without fears of employer retaliation.
During June and July 2009, there was intervention from the White House’s counsel’s office providing its own drafts of proposed legislation. Although it provided protections for some whistleblowers, it weakened it for FBI and reduced access to jury trials for national security workers who sue for protection from retaliation.
In e-mails obtained by the Washington Times from a congressional source, its effort to influence the legislation came to light. After it came out, a White House spokesman said that it was an early discussion draft that contained ideas advanced by various people involved in the negotiations including the Senate, the House and outside groups.
The bill going through Congress was initially praised by whistleblower advocates but as the details about the weakened protection became available, criticism has even been voiced by administration allies in the House and private sector.
Mostly directly affected would be FBI employees who would lose the right to have their cases reviewed by the Justice Department’s inspector general’s office. They would now have to seek protection from FBI managers.
Whistleblower advocates want Obama to keep the promise that he made during the campaign when he latched into criticism and voted for a broad House whistleblower measure as a senator in 2007. He signed a pledge to support the legislation if he became president.
In his transition Web site, Obama stated as the new president, he would ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblower have full access to the courts and due process. Now that he is president, Obama has gone back on that promise.
The actual words on the Obama’s website were:

“Protect Whistleblowers: Often the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled. We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance. Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. Obama will ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblowers have full access to courts and due process. “

Seems he has changed his mind when it comes to the FBI.
If the White House can pull this off, starting with the FBI employees, which group of whistleblowers will be next?

Was NH Man The First Victim Of Obama’s Snitch Line?
by Michael Graham
Meet NashuaDan.
That’s the name a NH man uses when he posts comments about news stories in the Nashua Telegraph on their website.
On Wednesday he posted this comment about President Obama’s upcoming visit to Portsmouth:

“I hope NH is better than letting this guy off the hook. Let Obama know what ‘Live Free or Die’ means (hint: it isn’t reckless TAXING and SPENDING). Otherwise, Portsmouth will just be another glorified photo-op for the Socialist-in-Chief.”

The next day, NashuaDan got a phone call from the government. To be more specific, he was called by the Secret Service.
On Thursday morning, NashuaDan found himself on the phone with a Secret Service agent, explaining that his remarks were only philosophical and not intended to threaten Obama, he said.
The Secret Service accepted his response, he said. And from now on, NashuaDan said he will use caution in future Internet postings.

“I do support the fact that we have freedom of speech,” he said in an interview. “This incident doesn’t change my thoughts on that, but the lesson is, I’ll have to choose my words carefully.”

“I’ll have to choose my words carefully.” NashuaDan has clearly gotten the White House’s message. He’s been “recalibrated.”

Here’s my question: How did the White House get the message on NashuaDan? No disrespect to the fine folks of the Nashua Telegraph, but somehow I doubt that it’s the newspaper sitting on President Obama’s breakfast tray each morning. I’m guessing the White House staff doesn’t pass it around fighting over who gets to do the Jumble.
Isn’t it far more likely that someone tipped the White House about NashuaDan’s “dangerous” posting? Perhaps with a quick email to flag@whitehouse.gov ?
Having been contacted by the Secret Service over harmless non-threatening comments myself, I know the folks are professional and just doing their jobs. But it is inherently threatening to a typical, law-abiding citizen to get that visit or receive that call.
And over what? Quoting the New Hampshire state motto? Some have suggested that the White House Snitch Line is illegal. I’m not so sure.
But I do know that a phone call from the Secret Service is far more threatening than anything NashuaDan put in his harmless posting.
Big Brother really IS watching you.

Wild Thing’s comment…….
I don’t think we can be remind ourselves enough what an absolute jerk this dangerous community organizer is – he surely isn’t even close to being the man a United States President should be.,,Obama is just a Chicago Style Bully….ever wonder why those who started to run against him early on dropped out of the races?
Those of you who are aware of the Illinois political machine, the money and the history knew better than to vote for this fraud…the rest of the cult were made to feel it was unnecessary to look into the real Barry. Political Correctness has many between Ba-rock and a hard place…don’t be intimidated, he puts his pants on one leg at a time and has ghost writers who wrote those books…he can’t write.
He is dangerous yes because he hates our Constitution and will abuse it every way he can and has from day one. He is freaking out now more then ever because he sees how many are speaking out and we are not afraid of the truth. His actions and words only make us stronger to want to speak out so that backfires on him too.
How ironic he is fighting tooth and nail to keep his OWN records sealed.

……Thank you Eden for sending this to me.

Security to make sure no one poisons the burgers? Come on! Even Princess Diana’s bodyguards didn’t hover over the cooks when she took the boys to McDonalds and Burger King and KFC!!!! Bush’s bodyguards didn’t do it either.
I don’t care who knows that I can’t trust Obama. What can he do about it? To arrest me would be illegal under the Privacy Act of 1974, so boo-hoo-hoo Obama-go cry in a corner!

Eden says:

I hope this MO story has legs…people need to discuss this…can they really take your phones/cameras? How is that legal? No way would they take mine. Arrest me and see how that flies in court. We have been programmed to be complacent for too long.

BobF says:

Patrons had their cell phones confiscated to prevent pictures of the Obama’s from being taken? Since when are citizens prevented from taking pictures of the First Family in public? Has this ever happened before with Bush or Clinton?

Mark says:

Don’t think for a moment that they can’t arrest and detain you, The Secret Service can and do we just don’t hear about it unless it is a Republican President and the media is protecting the ‘Perp’s rights.’
When Bush was Presdient, they made a movie about his assassination, they wrote books about it in detail and nobody said nary a word.
Somebody is running scared and afraid there is a serious threat out there. Using a State motto in a letter to the Editor does not seem to rise to the level of a real threat to a President. So perhaps Barry ‘Boy’ is a tad paranoid. For good reason.

Jim says:

#35 on Cleon Skousen’s list of Current Communist Goals(1958). “Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI”. To be replaced with _____. Obama will fill in the blank.

Jack says:

Seems a history lesson has been missed, Stalin and Hitler both imposed this as did Mao, but this is America and it can’t happen here, right!!! Pass the freakin’ Koo-aid!!!

TomR says:

Confiscation of cell phones and cameras of ordinary citizens? No, that is very wrong and unconstitutional. If somone wants a picture of Michelle’s extra large ass they should be allowed thart picture.
Maybe I should have to start using capital “o”s when I write obama. No, I think I will keep using lower case “o”s when I write obama’s name, because I think he is really a very small person.
