Obama If You Can’t Apologize For Yourself! Don’t Apologize For the USA!

Obama Seeks to Clarify ‘Stupidly’ Comment, Praises White Policeman

Obama stopped short of an apology to Sgt. James Crowley on Friday for saying he “acted stupidly” for arresting black Harvard scholar Henry Lewis Gates Jr., but said he should have chosen his words more carefully.
At an impromptu appearance at the daily White House briefing, Obama said he spoke with Crowley over the phone, and said he wanted to share a beer with Crowley and Gates at the White House.

“Because this has been ratcheting up and I helped contribute to ratcheting it up, I want to make clear that in my choice of words I unfortunately gave an impression that I was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sgt. Crowley specifically and I could have calibrated those words differently.”

“My sense is you’ve got two good people in a circumstance in which neither of them were able to resolve it the way the wanted to resolve it,” Obama added.

Earlier in the day Friday, the Cambridge and area police unions voiced their support for Crowley and called for an apology from Obama for his statement.

“His remarks were obviously misdirected but made it worse yet by suggesting somehow this case should remind us of a history of racial abuse by law enforcement,” Dennis O’Connor, president of the Cambridge Police Superior Officers Association, said at a news conference.

O’Connor also referred to statements made by Governor Deval Patrick — the state’s first black governor — who called the arrest “every black man’s nightmare.”

“Whatever may be the history, we deeply resent the implications and reject any suggestion that in this case or any other case that they’ve allowed a person’s race to direct their activities. However we hope they will reflect upon their past comments and apologize to the men and women of the Cambridge Police Department,” O’Connor said.

Obama has said he was surprised by the controversy sparked by his comments. White House spokesman Roberts Gibbs said early Friday that the president regrets that the media have gotten all worked up over the controversy and been distracted from other more substantive issues such as health care.
Obama’s remarks sparked outrage among many police officers who say the criticism could make it harder for police to work with people of color and set back the progress of race relations that helped Obama become the nation’s first black president.
Gates was arrested July 16 by Crowley, who was first to respond to the home the renowned black scholar rents from Harvard, after a woman reported seeing two black men trying to force open the front door. Gates said he had to shove the door open because it was jammed.
He was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he yelled at the white officer, accused him of racial bias and refused to calm down after Crowley demanded Gates show him identification to prove he lived in the home. The charge was dropped Tuesday, but Gates has demanded an apology, calling his arrest a case of racial profiling.
Obama was asked about Gates’ arrest at the end of a nationally televised news conference on health care Wednesday night and began his response by saying Gates was a friend and he didn’t have all the facts.

“But I think it’s fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry,” Obama said. “No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And No. 3 — what I think we know separate and apart from this incident — is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.”

‘Scofflaw’ Obama has history with ‘stupid’ Cambridge police
Condemns action of officer at department that ticketed prez 17 times while a student

Obama, who targeted the Cambridge, Mass., police department with his comment that one of its officers acted “stupidly” in the arrest of a black man, has a history with the department dating from his college years to as recently as the launch of his presidential campaign.
Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was arrested July 16 by Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley, who responded when a woman called police to say two black men were trying to force open the door of the home.
Gates, who contends he was racially profiled, said the door of his own rented home was jammed, and he and his driver were trying to force it open. Obama responded to a question about the case at a nationally televised news conference Wednesday.

“But I think it’s fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry,” Obama said. “No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And No. 3 – what I think we know separate and apart from this incident – is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.”

According to the Somerville Times in 2007, as a Harvard Law School student, Obama got 17 parking tickets during 1989-1991 from the Cambridge Police Department that he left unpaid until just weeks before he announced his bid for the presidency.

“In other words, as a practicing lawyer in Chicago, he allowed these tickets and penalties to remain unpaid; as an Illinois state senator he allowed these tickets and fines to remain unpaid; and as a United States senator he allowed these almost-two-decade-old signs of his disdain for the law to remain unpaid,” commented John LeBoutillier on Newsmax.com.

The Washington Post said two years ago that the tickets included parking without a proper permit and parking in a bus stop.

The Associated Press reported in 2007 that Obama’s “healthy stack” of parking tickets was finally paid, including late fees, “two weeks before he officially launched his presidential campaign.”

Said Jen Psaki, spokeswoman for Obama’s campaign during his race to the White House, “He didn’t owe that much and what he did owe, he paid. … Many people have parking tickets and late fees.”
The White House press office did not respond to a request for a comment.

Wild Thing’s comment……
Right off the top I have to say….he goes all around the world apologizing for the USA andn then when he screws up himself in a BIG way he cannot apologize. POS that he is.
Hussein’s proven himself…irrefutably…to be a race pimp. I did not hear an apology.
He stepped in it big time. Cops were already complaining he blew off the annual memorial to fallen officers earlier this year.
The backlash over his overt racism has stung Obama enough that he feels compelled to tell a few more lies.
Obama is full of it. He is the racist president and nothing he says now or ever will take that away. He keeps it going. This country was so much better off without him , I wish we could go back to not ever hearing about him.
Undoubtedly the STUPIDEST president EVER !

Mark says:

Like him or not Robert Gibbs has the toughest job in the White House. Obama lies and Gibbs has to go public and swear to it and he’s not very good at it.
By obama calling the Cambridge Police department stupid, he let the nation know how big a racist he really is by jumping on the Profiling bandwagon. His association with this race baiting professor and his other left-wing loser associates the real obama is beginning to surface, and people will start to wake up now. At least that is my hope and it can’t come any too soon.

Billy Ray says:

Gates & Obama = couple of smug pseudo-intellectuals that simply couldn’t imagine the ‘lowly’ white cop might be a good person.
Obama is disgusting

TomR says:

obama is too important to pay parking tickets. Obviously obama has had a mad crush on himself for a very long time. Little things like upaid parking tickets are telling about someone’s character.
obama is a racist. He stated it in his books. He disavowed his (responsible)White family while praising his (irresposible)Black father.
Michelle Obama is a racist. Eric Holder is a racist. Hell, if this administration was a White one with this attitude, they would be verbally attacked daily by Al and Jesse.
Keep talking obama. More and more Americans are figuring you out.

Lynette in Australia says:

Michelle’s account of her days at University are full of loathing for whites – yet it was whites who kept propping up her massive lack of self esteem to get her to where she is today. And btw -if I see one more magazine compare her to Jackie O I think I will literally hurl. I don’t mind giving praise to people (black or white) when it is deserved. I resent blacks who ‘make it’, then go on to trash the very people who helped them get there. If there is anything such as a humble black person in America that has actually praised whites for helping him/her to get where they are today, can you plase let me know…:)

BT in SA says:

The man is EPIC FAIL [bho, of course]! Sgt. Crowley is going to go to the WH to meet with bho and the race-baiting-Gates. Why? I would have said no. Not until I got an apology for being called “stupid” during the nationally televised health infomercial!

Anon says:

Another example of Pres. Obama´s racism is shown at http://theobamafile.com/ObamaLatest.htm, 7/22/09, Bogus POTUS:
Obama Fires Top Secret Service Agent
A Secret Service Agent, responsible for protecting Obama, was fired today under questionable reasons, according to top aides. The agent was reportedly tired of overhearing personal gripes by the Obama Family about certain demographics in the United States. The agent, who has not been identified as of today, brought his concerns straight to Obama, who later had him removed from his current assignment. More to come as story unfolds. (photo)
PS: Pres. Obama is not fit to be POTUS, either by policy (defense, national security, nuclear deterrence, foreign policy, and economic policy), personal behavior, and/or legal to be POTUS. (He should be impeached.)

Wild Thing says:

Mark, yes I sure would not want Robert
Gibbs job.
I agree about Obama too.

Wild Thing says:

Billy Ray, Obama doesn’t even get what
his statement could cause if people
aren’t careful like in big cities.

Wild Thing says:

Tom, isn’t that something about the tickets.
I can’t even imagine if I got a ticket of
any kind and did not pay it. I wonder why
he was not arrested or fined or something.
And he only paid them recently too.
amazing

Wild Thing says:

Lynette, I know what you mean, why they
have such a strong need to compare Micelle
to Jackie O, well it is so insulting.
There is no comparison for one thing. And
Jackie would never have felt she was not
proud of America.

Wild Thing says:

BT in SA, “EPIC FAIL ” that is a GREAT way
to put it.
Your right about Sgt. Crowley, I wish he
could have said well not till I get an
apology.

vnohara says:

Oh Lynette,
There isn’t one such black person. The American blacks seem to forget that although their ancestors did hard labor and suffered abuse (a treatment slaves of any race received historically by the way), had they not got sold by their African slave traders to the white Americans, they would be in Africa now suffering brutality from their own race, hungry, raped, and perhaps their children forced to kill their own mothers then become child soldiers.
I am with you re Michelle. In addition to her “beauty” and “elegance” being compared to Jackie O, I also find the media’s constant billing her, and her husband too, as the first brilliantly smart, intellectual first couple America ever had nauseating. How did all the not-smart, unintellectual, unintelligent past Presidents built the great America from which these two racists have been benefiting greatly from. I would love to ship them to Kenya.

Greg says:

I sometimes feel I’m living in the Twilight zone with this guy. I’m not sure it could get any worse. I can’t wait to see the next Presidential debates! I think “Change” is gonna bite Hussein in the buttocks.

Lynette in Australia says:

Greg – Believe me, things are going to get worse, a whole lot worse. Your Presidential debates are too far away to stop the rot. The West is in retreat (both economically, and pretty soon militarily as well if things don’t effing change) and with this guy in office everything is on hold as he plays metrosexual nice guy to our most deadliest enemies. See how much notice Ahmadinejad & Kim il Jong take of his appeasement gestures?? Cartoon below:

The man is out of his league – as Obama seeks to ‘rebuild’ America’s image these bastards continue on regardless. Schmuck!

rr says:

There seems to be a pattern to this president and his cronies. Over the past few months we have heard Michelle Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Sotomayor, Gates, and now Obama himself spew out stupidity and ignorance and then have to try and explain themselves. We’ve heard “I’ve never been this proud to be an American….” “that’s not what he meant to say…”, “given the chance she would have chosen better words…”, and now “I shouldn’t have used the word ‘stupidly'”. How old are these people and what is their level of education? Almost everything out of their mouths has to be corrected, redirected and spun by someone else on the “team”. Apparently they open their mouth without having thought the consequences. These are the people chosen to lead our country? How could we let this happen?
When you go to the polls, remember this stupidity that has been poured out on our nation, especially in 2010 and 2012. Hopefully, the sheeple will wake from their trance and see what a sham has been perpetrated on the people of these United States.
