Obama Insults French President Sarkozy

Obama Merci Beaucoup

Paris -US President Barack Obama has indirectly praised former French president Jacques Chirac’s fierce opposition to the US-led invasion of Iraq, the online edition of the daily Le Figaro reported on Thursday.
Here is a translation of the letter in Le Figaro:
Vendredi 20 mars 2009 OBAMA PREFERS CHIRAC !
Barack Obama does not seem to know that in May 2007, French voters elected Nicolas Sarkozy to the French presidency, to succeed Jacques Chirac who had been president for twelve years.
Yesterday, we told you Sarkozy is irritated because Mister O. refuses to tell him if he will accept to meet him personally in the next few months.
Strangely, we have just learnt this surprising piece of news :

Barack Obama wrote a letter to Jacques Chirac to tell him about his desire to “work with him” for the next four years ! In a letter described by Chirac as “very nice,” Obama wrote, “I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world.” The use of the word “peace” was taken to be an indirect reference to Chirac’s stance against the US intervention in Iraq, which Obama had also opposed.

This revelation was made by the online edition of the daily Le Figaro on Thursday.
Vendredi 20 mars 2009 OBAMA PREFERS CHIRAC !
So, if I understand well, Mister O., who has already despised Gordon Brown, behaving with him as if he did not know he is Prime Minister of Britain, does not even know the name of the French president.
I wonder if someone had told him, when he came to France last summer, that the man he met was NOT Jacques Chirac !
In any case, for Sarko, the blow must be terrible : he has tried to persuade Obama to invite him in Washington for months, and now he learns that his predecessor might soon be Obama’s guest at the White House before him !

Obama cools Sarkozy’s American dream
Times Online.com
March 8. Sarkozy has apparently persuaded Obama to meet him for a quick session at a Normandy beach between the London and Strasbourg summits, on April 3 — according to le Figaro.
Sarkozy had pulled out the diplomatic stops to woo the Obama team before and after his November victory. As Europe’s new strongman, as he saw it, Sarko was hoping to make France the new “go to” country for Washington in its relations with the EU.
The President asked Obama to drop in for at least a photo-opp at the Elysée around the Nato summit in the French city of Strasbourg on April 3. That was refused too. Sarkozy now says that he will “receive” the US leader on the sideliness of the Strasbourg session. Yesterday he had a few minutes with Hilary Clinton at the Gaza aid meeting in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. A few weeks ago, he was saying that meeting the Secretary of State was the job of his Foreign Minister, Bernard Kouchner, not the President of France.

Wild Thing’s comment……
Bwahahaha!
The idiot has even met President Sarkozy last year on his Campaign tour .
Obama has now antagonized the three allies America has in England, France and the Israeli . These actions are deliberate by Obama to break the western alliance.
Sarkozy’s response should be: I look forward to working with you George! hahaha His teleprompter is having a hard time controlling him.
The way Obama keeps doing this kind of thing, he could easily put our country in some kind of an international incident or soemthing.

TomR says:

Obama boasted of the hundreds of advisors he would have. Obviously their only qualifications were to have studied Saul Alinsky or Jimmy Carter. They seem to have no grasp on protocol.
France has just come around to America’s side after 40 years of being standoffish. Sarkozy is trying to bring France into NATO which would be a big plus. Our fearless leader, Teh One, jeopardizes that by way of diplomatic snubs and ignorance.
I bet Obama and Mugabe click well though.

Jack says:

Some more of that Democrat attribute known as Gravitas!!! We can only imagine that their “honest abe” also addressed German Chancellor Angela Merkel as “Dear Adolph”.

RAC says:

Obama has no right to even set foot on a beach in Normandy! No matter what the reason or occasion!

Mark says:

Wasn’t that the theme of the Bamster’s campaign, improve America’s relations with the world. So far all he’s managed to do is piss off the people we should be able to depend on.
In Berry’s case it will be to kiss up to the Russians, and Iranians and the press will call it huge inroads into greater global understanding…through appeasement.

Wild Thing says:

Tom your so right. all that work that Bush did this Obama will destroy.
I rememebr how Sarkozy was so excited to come to America and was going to send troops which he did and it was just beginning to become a nice relationship.

Wild Thing says:

RAC, I will get sick to see a photo of that happening. Angry and sick. I agree with you.

Wild Thing says:

Mark, your right, that was a huge thing with his campaign.
