Happy Birthday Jack

A 1942 recruiting poster designed by Jes Wilhelm Schaikjer illustrating the dual role of Army engineers in combat: to block the enemy and to “clear the way.”

Happy Birthday to you Jack from everyone here at Theodore’s World.
And all the best wishes and many healthy, happy years into forever.
Thank you for being a part of Team Theodore, and thank you for having your blog Conservative Insurgent

There’s an old saying, ‘When grunts f**k up , engineers up” They bailed us out more that once.

Thank you Chrissie and Team Theodore, love the graphic, this is too much and I deeply appreciate it. I’m reminded of those early mornings when we’d meet the squad of mine sweepers, each of us with the same query. “What the hell are you doing out here?” They still have my admiration as we didn’t have to sweep the rest of the road:)!!!
Mine is the last birthday in our family in February starting with the wife, the daughter and my own, three birthdays and Valentines day. I celebrated last night at the daughter’s home, even the teenagers were home and my glucometer is registering the event today.
No lamentations except if I’d known I was to live this long I’d have taken better care of the old carcass but I’ll accept the good health and good fortune I still have.
As I get older I’m reminded of a few quotations that are becoming realities.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other. (I think so!!!)
My short-term memory is not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my short-term memory’s not as sharp as it used to be.
Thank you each and every one for making today so special, you truly are family.
