President Bush and Laura and Vice President Cheney on Veterans Day

“Members of the Intrepid Museum and Foundation Board of Trustees, Wounded Warriors — you know, oftentimes they ask me, what are you going to miss about the presidency? And first reaction is, I say, no traffic jams in New York. The truth of the matter is, I will miss being the Commander-in-Chief of such a fabulous group of men and women — those who wear the uniform of the United States military.” — President George W. Bush

Wild Thing’s comment……..
I thought it would be nice to see one last time President Bush and Vice President Cheney on Veterans Day with our military. Especially since the next 4 years will have a CIC that has no clue about allegiance to our country the greatest country in the entire world. He snubbed our Flag, our Anthem and could not even put his hand on his heart. It means nothing to him. He will never convince me he cares about our troops, if he does show up to be with them it is only a photo op to him and nothing more.
I love the photo of Bo with Cheney too. She is such a nice person and I have met her several times when we lived in Calif.. She is a Republican and supported Bush and also Sarah Palin.

John says:

Thanks for sharing this with us WT!!! I especially like the one with President Bush placing his hand over his heart!!! Maybe he can give Obama leasons on how it is done!!!
Nah…Never mind…. some people are just too stupid to teach anything to. Bush shouldn’t waste his time with this low-life idiot. I must have had a brain cramp there…..sorry!!! Chalk it up to old age!!! LOL

After working 8 x 4 I popped my tape into the recorder and put on C-Span to record this administrations LAST Veteran’s Day ceremony in Washington D.C. / CCCP…. Only a 30 second clip was replayed at 6 p.m. (or there abouts on C-Span 1) and it showed VP Cheney setting up the wreath and they did NOT show the bugler sounding TAPS! This is what we’re all in for folks…even C-Span is CHANGING for the worse…

TomR says:

I sure like these pictures. The calm before the storm. Dignified people showing their appreciation for veterans and what veterans mean to America. Bo Derek has been very active in patriotic events and is unashamed of being a Conservative.
Under Obama I expect that Veterans Day will possibly be replaced with a Civilian Security Corps Appreciation Day or maybe an Esteemed Leader Appreciation Day.

horace says:

I have a weak heart. Please warn me a day ahead when you are going to post a Bo Derek photo and I’ll be ready. If I had no other reason to vote Republican, the fact that all the good looking women seem to be Republican would be enough! Hah.
Maybe there’s something to be said for totally covering women, if you’re a Democrat.
You’re in clover, Chrissie. Those fools are going to keep giving you good stuff to poke fun at.

Mark says:

I hope they keep this ceremony.

Les says:

Imagining Barack Obama at a future Veteran’s Day event makes as much sense as O. J. Simpson at a battered women’s support group. George Bush and Dick Cheney along with their wives with the military at any time, but, in particular, Veteran’s Day is an event of mutual respect and a love fest. How insulting and disrespectful it will be on Veterans Day next year to see Barack and Michelle Obama with their litmus tested black flavored selective view of when it is OK to be proud of the country.

Wild Thing says:

John, LOL I thought that too though, like Hey Obama see this is how it is done.

Wild Thing says:

Darth, oh nooo that is not good.
I can’t get over how the coverage of Obama is as though he is already President. And Bush and Cheney are hardly seen at all.

Wild Thing says:

Tom, thank you I am so glad. I feel like that too, the “calm before the storm”. I want to try andn post more till Jan. and try and get in what we can of the A Team…..Bush and Laura.

Wild Thing says:

Horace, giggle. OK I promise my friend!!
Bo is really great, she is real too like Sraah is real and a very loving person. I think I have met her maybe 7 or 8 times. Lunch together once but it was a huge luncheon thing and we sat next to each other…… Bo and Chrisse it was alphabetical. hahaa But we hit it off and had a wonderful visit that day.
Nicholas worked on the movie “10” with her doing some stunt work for the film. He said she was very kind to him too.

Wild Thing says:

Mark,me too, I was thinking that when I was looking for the photos.
I have this feeling that I want to absorb every traditional thing we have had like this before it is taken away. Not a good feeling to have that on my mind.

Wild Thing says:

Les, good comparison!!!
I am dreading when Obama does this, it will be even worse then when Clinton did it and used it only as a photo op.

Bob A says:

Maybe B. Hussein will do like he did at a memorial and just threw flowers on the ground while Senator McCain and his wife bent over and laid them down. Michelle did not even attend. Here is the link.
