A group of well wishers cheered outside the Fed Ex cargo terminal, as McCain’s bus headed away from the airport and through Bethlehem, before stopping at the lighting company Lutron in Upper Saucon Township.
Republican John McCain’s Straight Talk Express tour bus rolled into Stabler Arena to the theme from “Rocky” this afternoon and a thunderous cheer from the assembled capacity crowd.
McCain fans roared when his wife Cindy asked how her husband did at last night’s debate.
And it sent up raucous cheers of Sarah! Sarah! as Cindy McCain introduced McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin said the debate provided voters with a clear choice between two vastly different world views.

“Last night Sen. McCain talked about real pragmatic solutions and Barack Obama talked about why he would rather run against George Bush. That strategy is starting to run pretty darn thin,” Palin said.

McCain then took the stage, to chants of “John McCain, John McCain,” starting his remarks by focusing on the economy and his new plan to help homeowners struggling with onerous mortgages.
Under the newly-announced McCain plan, called the American Homeownership Resurgence Plan, the government would help homeowners refinance into more manageable payments in order to avoid foreclosures.

“As president, I plan to act quickly and decisively so you can realize the American Dream,” McCain said.

Earlier, McCain and Palin’s planes arrived within minutes of each other at Lehigh Valley International Airport.
Palin disembarked first, crossing the tarmac to greet McCain as he exited his “Straight Talk Express” jet.

Palin, carrying a tote that read “Real Women Hunt Moose,” McCain, and his wife, Cindy, greeted a small group of local dignitaries before boarding a bus to Lehigh University’s Stabler Arena.
This morning, thousands of people lined up to wait to see the Republican presidential ticket at Stabler Arena at Lehigh University.
Andrew Allen of Springfield Township and Len Ramirez of Quakertown got to Stabler at 7:30 a.m. They were among the first 50 people or so standing near the front door of the arena.
Allen retired from the Marines last year, he supports McCain’s platform on the Iraq War.

“I don’t want another 9-11 to happen,” he said. “When you go to war you go to win.”

Ramirez in in favor of McCain’s plan for the economy, especially his plan to buy back bad mortgages.
Both men have tickets for today’s event, but arrived early to get good seats.
Four people were already inside at about 11 a.m., among them was volunteer Harry Singh, 70, of Atlanta, Ga., who is a registered Independent. Singh’s grandson is a student at Lehigh University and he has other family in the Lehigh Valley.

“I am not a very political person, but the next several years are very important. McCain has got the experience and has faced many challenges. I picked the candidate not the party,” Singh said.

LOL this is amazing!!! This is how American citizens so many of us feel , millions of us feel about all that has been happening to our country. Fed up with politicians, fed up with the media being part of the Obama campaign, fed up with Obama and his lies in our face as he smiles and stammers his way through a speech. Fed up with Michelle Obama saying how she is finally proud of America!!!! And fed up with the left, the liberals pushing, shoving and taking over our speech ( Political correctness), their plans for the Fairness Doctrine, stealing from Social Security, not drilling for oil when we have tons of it just for the taking, and so many things and one more huge one………. their not only lack of support for our troops, but their having signs to kill the officers and baby killer and harassing and destruction at Marine recruiting offices. Sending checks for $600,000 to the terrorists to support them from Code Pink one of the endorsers for Obama. Fed up with Obama’s unforgivable comment as he proclaimed that troops in Afghanistan were “air raiding villages and killing civilians.” — Wild Thing

This is what was said by Bill Platt, the Lehigh County Republican Chairman, who talked about Obama’s reluctance to wear an American flag lapel pin: “Certainly Barack Obama can learn a thing or two from John McCain about what it means to be a patriot.” Then he asked the crowd to work for the Republican ticket: “Think about you’ll feel on Nov. 5 if you see the news that Barack Obama, Barack Hussein Obama, is president of the United States.”

Eden says:

Comment about the orange tie (at least it looks orange to me).
This I’ve gleaned from Gretawire and NOQUARTER. I’m sure you’ve heard of PUMA, the organization of Hillary Clinton supporters who are po’d at the treatment she received and the Dems literally ripping off the nomination via caucus and voter fraud during the primaries. One of their most vocally outspoken members is Harriet Christiansen, who is organizing busloads of people to meet in NYC and go to Scranton, PA for a rally and to get out fliers, etc. I think it’s going to be huge..they plan on doing it every weekend until the election. McCain has met with them and heard their concerns and they want him elected, and Country First has been their mantra since June.
So here’s my point about the orange. I can’t remember the details of where the signifigance of the color came from, but in any case, that is the color they identify with their outrage at the Dem party as it is today.
So at the Dem convention, Hillary wore an orange pantsuit. I am fairly certain John wore an orange tie to RNC. It’s a subtle shout out to the Dems for McCain PUMA’s.
Obama as the great uniter indeed. The only way he can replace those people in his base is to register felons, homeless, double registered students, etc. And yet, that’s coming back to bite him with the ACORN scandals. Probably the most damaging was when Donna Braziele told the PUMA’s they didn’t need their votes, they’d get enough new/other votes. Essentially she told them to eff off if they didn’t bow down to The Fraud.
So I doubt if you ever see McCain wearing orange during the rest of the campaign is coincidence.

Jack says:

LOL Chrissie, just saw a FOX clip of one of the Floridian Dems at a rally introduce Joe Biden as John McCain the next VP of the United States, YCMTSU. Does that belie their fundamental underlying fear or what? Sarah will have to pack the load I’m afraid, imagine how far in the commode John would be without her. I can just picture John up to his neck reaching up to pull the flush handle and telling Joe Lieberman help me Bro!!!. Great spread you’ve done, thanks.

TomR says:

I’ll be watching for orange Eden. That is a neat story. I hope there are a lot more PUMAs than the Dems realize.
Too bad it is not Cindy and Sarah running. John is the weak link in that group. The two ladies are what energize the crowds. I had thought that McCain would do very well in the debates, but he has reined in any attacks and allows Obama to smooth talk his lies.

don says:

I was at the Bethlehem Rally at Stabler Arena a few people behind the high school students in the pink shirts. It really was awesome. The place was packed. One of the best lines McCain had was when he was talking about Obama’s “Change”. He said, “If he never fought the system how is he ever going to change the system”. I scanned some of the pictures I took and would be happy to send some to you if you would like.

horace says:

TomR, I logged on to post what Cindy said in Nashville Tuesday and to ask you folks, “If John went on the disabled list could Cindy replace him and run with Sarah?” You beat me to it.
WASHINGTON (AP) – Cindy McCain has accused Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama of running “the dirtiest campaign in American history.”
In remarks reported Tuesday by The Tennessean, she said she initially did not want her husband John McCain to seek the Republican presidential nomination after a brutal primary struggle in 2000 against George W. Bush.
“The days of Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill are what we need to look to: a divided government but a government that needs to agree to disagree,” Cindy McCain told reporters after visiting children at a Nashville hospital and prior to the presidential debate. “We’re now seeing polarizing factions, people politicizing things that should be about what’s best for America. Instead, they’re doing what’s best for themselves.”
The Obama campaign declined to comment.
Totally boggles my mind to think of a two-woman ticket with the two of the three greatest American women. Wild Thing will have to be satisfied with Secretary of Defense job. LOL

Eden says:

The Obama campaign is desperate to defuse the Ayers thing. Their spokesholes can’t even give a direct answer to the question “when did he know Bill was a terrorist” without going balistic on McCain.
MSNBC still LYING. I don’t watch them, just flip to see what their latest bullcrap is. It’s amazing these people can support this fraud. They seem fairly intelligent…what is wrong with them? How much more evidence do they need to see that this guy is dangerous? How can a white woman like Kiki whatsherface from the Clinton years sit and lie about McCain and support a man whose campaign belittled and robbed their real chance for winning because she was a woman, a woman whose husband she worked for? How can she support him after he sat for 20 years in a church with a man who preaches reparations and hatred of the white race and America?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?
It’s really the great divide of good and evil from where I sit. Greed vs. honor, power vs. patriotism. They also want to make it man vs. woman and race vs. race. This is what makes him so dangerous.

Miss Chris says:

Thanks for posting the rally pics and letting us know what was said and all the crowd reactions. This is great for those of us who don’t have any rallies in our area. I’m a Phoenix resident so since McCCain is our senator we don’t see to much of him here. I guess he thinks he’s got a lock on Arizona but I’m worried because we have a very liberal Democrat as Governor who is serving her second term.

Mark says:

Well I almost made it to this one but the wife wasn’t up to it yet. There is another one next week so will try to get to that just a little past State College (the ‘Nitaly’ Lions don’t ja know), which isn’t too bad.
These rallies are electric and, by-cracky, I am gonna make to one of them.

Eden says:

Have you seen this about that hand sign The Zero wanted to use as his minion’s symbol of hopey changey?
http://thatsmeontheleft.blogspot.com/2008/10/holy-crap.html
Compares it to Hitler.

Mark says:

Naw Adolf was more original that this. The hands over the head shaped in an ‘o’. I thought that was the symbol democrats use for a community ‘circle-jerk’

Eden says:

When I was in high school in the 70’s it meant “eat me”. I don’t think I knew what eat me meant though…lol. ohhhh to be young and naive again

Wild Thing says:

Eden, interesting, thank you so much for the information about the Orange tie. I agree it does look orange.

Wild Thing says:

Jack, LMAO oh how funny. hahaahhaa

Wild Thing says:

Tom I agree that is so neat and thank goodness for PUMA we need them. I really like Cindy and she and Sarah are very similar in their get things done and speak out things they have done. It was Cindy that has told the media off about them making attacks about the houses. And Cindy that came out right away and said she was Proud of America heh heh when Michelle said what she did.
God bless these two women, Sarah and Cindy, they are awesome.

Wild Thing says:

Don, nice to meet you. I emailed you this morning about it and said yes. It would have had to be done today though as there would be new posts for tomorrow. But now it is late, I do thank you sooooooo much for your offer.
I am so glad you were able to go, that is fantastic.
Please stop by again.

Wild Thing says:

Horace, hahahahahaha, love your comment, just put me in charge of handing out the weapons. heh heh
Here soldier a nice new gun for you. hugs and kissed from Wild Thing tah dah.

Wild Thing says:

Eden, that is what we do too. Nicholas channel surfs to the main three so what each one is saying then he watched Fox more then any of the others.
“It’s really the great divide of good and evil from where I sit.”….I agree.

Wild Thing says:

Miss Chris, that would be great if they had a rally there. It would be great if you could go do one.
I almost got to go to one here in Florida but the tickets were sold out.

Wild Thing says:

Mark, thank you Mark I understand completely.
We have had several here so close to us on this side of the State but still a few ours drive to each one of them and we just could not make it.
I am attending all of them vicariously. giggle Hope I spelled that right. hahaha

Wild Thing says:

Eden, I saw that thank you for the link. Isn’t he horrible, he has to have a hand sign, an Obama seal and then he puts it on everything just like the President has. It really makes me sick and very afraid as to his plans.
He said once I forget when I posted about it, but he said he would change the website for the White House when he is elected too.
sheesh

Wild Thing says:

Mark, how funny, Nick said something about that too.

Wild Thing says:

Eden, hahahahaha I remember that.
