“Governor Sarah Palin”
blogette by Meghan McCain and photos by Heather
“Yesterday was incredible. Again I got to witness history in the making, from a front row seat. Starting out the day with Dad’s choice of Governor Sarah Palin as his nominee for Vice President is a moment on stage I will never forget. She and her family are so down to earth and so much fun. I could not be any luckier to have these wonderful people join us on the road. I had the pleasure of spending the day with kids Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig. Not only do we have a new Vice Presidential nominee, but I have three new awesome girls to share the road with. I am looking forward to spending more time with them hanging out on the Straight Talk Express. It feels a bit like we’re welcoming a few new blogettes to the site and my life. I couldn’t be happier, more pleased or excited. This has truly been one of the best days on the trail so far. “

Wild Thing’s comment……
LOL you all know how I love pictures and graphics. And to think we finally get a conservative we get to vote for. tah dah!
The photos at Meghan McCain’s blog are so special of Sarah Palin and Trig her new baby. Dear God protect these families and the children. The left is so cruel and vicious.
I reallly like Meghan’s blog because it is much better to have photos that are not posed and photos that show back room things that go on. Some of her other posts show the campaign on the bus, the plane and back stage where speechs have and will be made.
I am sure there will be more in the future that willl be fun to see, especially this week with the Republican Convention starting Monday.
One more thing to share with you…….never before has McCain.com raised $1 million in a day. He has donen OK but never more then $1 Million. I heard on the news that they’re STILL counting online donations – well
over $5 Million JUST online since the announcement of oSarah Palin as VP was made, and they have lots more coming in, and lots more yet to count!
Photos From The Announcement For Republican VP
Bookmarked your post over at Blog Bookmarker.com!
You know what? I think he picked an Angelina Jolie type of girl! I’ll have to check out his daughter’s blog. I’m sure Meghan and the girls get along great and I’ll bet she’s all over Trig. Who wouldn’t be? He’s a super cutie pie.
One hell of a big crab.
Mark Steyn wrote a good column about Palin at NRO. One of his points was that Palin has a “hinterland”, a life outside politics, where Obama’s life is community organizing, running for office and writing autobiographies about himself.
His couch doesn’t have bearskins.
What a great looking family and their youngest daughter is just a treat.
This is a first class lady.
The question has already arisen how can she be a full time mom and Vice-President, well she had the baby while Governor and the State continued to run. Isn’t this what the libs are talking about, ‘Working MOMs’, well hell-o, now they can see if first hand.
And another thing. This BS about foreign policy experience. This applies to obama too. How much foreign policy experience did Bill Clinton have, even Ronald Reagan had little except maybe his dealings with Mexico. The President if he is smart surrounds himself with experts in that field, listens to them then makes a decision based on the information he has gotten from his experts. All Presidents do this. Biden was picked because of his foreign policy background, he has been wrong on everything, so it certainly matters who your advisors are. But it is the ability of the President to pick good advisors, and to weed out the non-sense, thats what they are paid to do. They act as if the President or vice-president would be on their own when this is not the case at all.
I want a leader who’s honest, has an idea of how to lead and to defend and protect the country. Not to get in my life or my way and impede what I am trying to do. That was the original deal. I don’t need a ‘nanny’ or to be told that I need to pay my neighbors mortgage.
Sarah Palin and her family are the closest of all the candidates that more people can identify with on many levels. Barack Obama is running as the affirmative action African-American candidate filled with promises of change. Joe Biden is a stuffed shirt who for 35 years was a key part of what Obama thinks needs changing. John McCain was a POW and in Congress a long time and regarded as a maverick.
Now we have Sarah Palin, not perfect, but an accomplished woman with an executive job, is a working mom, and a “doer” who makes things happen and doesn’t only talk about it or just make promises to get elected. Her family and their life story is something that many different types of people can identify with as just like them.
Sarah Palin will probably share stories of how she lives with the same challenges, problems, and struggles that most people do and how she handles them. Sarah Palin will then be able to take their priority concerns about the economy, energy, housing, jobs, education, health, etc. and present John McCains realistic solutions of reform in these areas backed up with her own experience of getting reform done.
At the same time, Obama-Biden will be smearing McCain as they run against a third Bush term. What losers! The Dems are in trouble and they know it.
Neat pictures on that site.
I believe Sarah Palin just brought the McCain campaign off life support. As Les states, she is a person the average American can identify with. She is a “typical White person” who clings to her guns and bible, and family. Those words have really turned on Obama now.
My spirits have been raised 100% since McCain’s public announcement of a running mate. I will even donate which I seldom do to any political campaign. Now I have something to be FOR rather than just against.
The family aspect of both McCain and Palin is unbeatable. Their families are clean cut, all-American.
The MSM is going to really have to work overtime now to promote their boys Obama and Biden and all the stained baggage those two carry. McCain carries baggage, but at least he carries it as a maverick status and Palin appears to have no baggage.
Hope for November runs high right now, but experience tells me anything can happen in the meantime.
Thanks for giving us the link to Meghan’s blog. There’s some great stuff there. People in Alaska are giddy with excitement over this. I’ve never seen anything like it.
I think the republicans ought to challange Obama to an iron dog race. I just read the information on that. The race is done on snowmobiles in February. Todd Palin won in 2007. At the start of the race the temperature was, now get this -29 below zero(For those of you in Florida, thats like spending the night in your refrigerator’s Freezer). Those of us from Buffalo and parts north have a good appreciation of -29 below. The race takes about 2 days if you are slow. the best time was about 42+ hours, the course is 1,971 miles long. The average speed has got to be about 41 mph, so it is not only cold now you got a 40 mile an hour wind blowing in your face,to make it in about 48 hours. sleeping time and eating time is not part of the time of the race.
I can not imagine being outside in that kind of weather for that long. Plus for the race they have to take tents, artic stove for cooking and all the extras to prevent frostbite, exposure and any other ailment that goes along with those kind of temperatures. There are checkpoints along the way to keep an eye and a count on who is where or broken down.
This is a special couple. McCain couldn’t have picked a better running mate. I going to contribute too.
Oh, that Piper is a sweetie, isn’t she?
Lynn, that is neat yes she like her too. Pro Gun and loves children.
I agree Lynn I think it will be great how they all get along and can have a good time ( the children) during the rest of the campaign. Meghan seems to love children and is good with them. I think she is very sincere in her comments she makes at her blog.
Rhod, thank you for telling about Mark Steyn’s article, that is great. I love how he put that, he is such a good writer and he hit the nail on the head with that one.
Yes about the Crab too, I didn’t know they got that big. haha The photo is one of her office in Alaska at least that is what the link said where I found it.So she has that bear and crab in her office.
I am just so happy about all of this.
Mark that is great and so well said how it is supposed to be.
I agree too,the left can’t find anything big on Palin so they are trying to say bad things and it is not working. They should know she is a good example of what a woman can be and do not something to put down and attack.
Les, I agree, people will relate to Sarah Palin on so manyh levels. She really has it all and we are blessed that she said yes to McCain.
I think so too, in her future speeches there is always the possibility of her sharing experiences she has had.
Yes Obama and Biden must really be feeling a lot less secure in the race for President/VP.
Tom, I am soooo glad, this has been exactly what needed to happen and the right person. I agree too that both families are all American.
Both have sons serving, oh gosh so many things.
Jim, I am glad you like it, I thought it was fun to see things on the inside of what is happening.
I sure love Alaska more then ever. I have only been there once but is was awesome.
Mark, WOW I love reading about that. Thank you Mark sooooo much. That was so interesting.
And he WON! That is fantastic. But what a thing go do and 29 below, amazing!!!!!!!
Nicholas has to be in warmer weather but when I read what you shared about he is going to say….Chrissie that is something you would do with your love for winter, storms and snow. I know exactly he will say that. hahaha
I used to go barefoot in the snow from our house to the garage where the garbage containers were located. My parents would laugh at how crazy I was. So yesss I love reading what you shared so much.
Thank you.
Trish I aqree she is adorable.
To paraphrase Michelle O: “For the millionth time I am proud of my country.” To paraphrase O Winfrey: “I listened to Palin and cried my eyelashes off.” The next brilliant move for John McCain would be to get his delegates to make Sarah Palin the Presidential Candidate and give him the Vice-President’s job of presiding over the Senate which he knows well. 72 year old men should not be Kings they should be developing young comers. Don’t try to tell me that Palin wouldn’t beat Obama this year. I’ll bet some money on it. When a brilliant, staunch Democrat, like Camille Paglia says that Palin’s speech was the greatest speech ever given by an American female politician it carries weight with me. The speech was all that. Extraordinary times require extraordinary responses. McCain’s time in prison gave him the ability to look at each day as it comes and do what is needed to survive. He is absolutely the right man for this time.
You may think I was being sarcastic. I wasn’t. She really could beat Obama and I think that having John at the front of Harry Reid’s Senate would let him straighten out the legislative body that is ruining America. Put Sarah on the road giving Americans a real role model and let John stare down the Senate. Of course it will also work with those roles reversed so I’m as happy as a dead pig in the North Carolina sunshine. Still a Republican.
