“We, therefore, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately to lower gasoline prices (and diesel and other fuel prices)* by authorizing the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries.”
According to Congress, even if we started drilling in Anwr it would take 10 years.
If private industry was allowed to do it they could have oil flowing out of there in 18 months.
Mark, well then I hope private industry does it.
And Congress can bite me, they have been saying that for 20 years, so if we had done this 20 years ago we would be rolling in oil now.
LOL I think I have become the never trust our government anymore person now, after so many disappointments. I am the show me and I might believe you to Congress. hahaha
Those pinwheels can’t run a govt post office or dining room. I joke about this, but the time is coming when they’ll have to go…by force if necessary.
Rhod, LOL yes love the dining room. heh heh
So far three people have tried to complain to me in person about the price of gas and each time I tell them the same thing…. stop voting for Democrats and stop siding with the enviro’s. It is hard now because McCain is on the planet as the left on this ….grrrrrrrr
We are in the midst of an energy crisis that has turned the economy upside down and is doing great harm to the daily lives of all of us. It is absurd that our politicians from both parties in Congress prevent new refineries from being built and new nuclear power plants from being constructed with their stupid and misguided regulation roadblocks. The same absurdity for their refusal to allow for oil and gas exploration and development in ANWR, off both the Atlantic and Pacific coastlines, and the pursuit of shale and other carbon sources on domestic soil.
Signing this petition is a good start to register our demand that Congress stop this nonsense and IMMEDIATELY allow for the drilling of oil on our own territory.
If that doesn’t work, a few million people march on Congress to physically throw the bastards out would be in order.

Has anyone asked, with China drilling offshore FL and Canada drilling beneath the Great Lakes will they resort to horizontal drilling into US waters while our “leaders” and I use the term loosely fiddle as America burns. We need a grassroots uprising to remove them all and start anew. I know, Chrissie that you said you heard a radio talk show host say the enviro’s were against wind power because it was “killing” birds and “dangerous” to birds. Does this mean fewer seagulls at our landfills and in store parking lots? Just a question. If so, we need more just on that reasoning. How many acres have been taken from sheltered land to grow corn for ethanol? Has that disrupted wildlife and contributed to road kill along our highways? OMG, who would want to travel by highway and not see road kill?
Thanks WT but the US is 62nd in literacy skills, and the inner blue city/state reps can’t read nor comprehend! Seriously – “Can’t teach stupid, eh?”
Les, thanks for the graphics they are perfect for this.
Darth, yes can’t teach stupid is right.
Bob, good one, thanks!
