Iraqi Citizens Capture Criminal Responsible for Detonating Bomb
BAGHDAD
Iraqi citizens, who witnessed a vehicle borne improvised explosive device that killed one Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldier, turned over a criminal to the Iraqi National Police, May 1.
The citizens observed a man parking a vehicle and walking a significant distance away from it. They saw the man using a cell phone before the detonation. After the blast, Iraqi citizens chased the criminal and made a citizen’s arrest. The criminal was turned over to the Iraqi National Police, where he tested positive for explosive compounds.
Two other criminals were also apprehended after they were observed and identified watching the area when the blast occurred. They also tested positive for explosives.
“An American Soldier paid the ultimate price on behalf of his country, his family and the citizens of Iraq,” said Col. Allen Batschelet, the chief of staff for MND-B and the 4th Infantry Division. “We will not relent in our efforts to rid Baghdad of these criminal elements, and today, as many times before, we were aided in that struggle by the people of Iraq.
“The citizens of Iraq have repeatedly shown their displeasure for these criminals operating in their neighborhoods and are continuing to assist American forces to rid these criminals off the streets in Baghdad,” Batschelet said.
Wild Thing’s comment……..
I am thrilled to see this happening. It seems like it has taken forever but we are seeing more and more of this where the people themselves are fed up with the terrorists.
My only grip though is have you noticed how the kissing up to Islam has morphed from “terrorists” to “insurgents” to “criminals” in military-speak. That I don’t like happening at all.
Well, it’s about time the Iraqi people took the lead in removing the scum from their own streets.
Like you, it sickens me when we start mollifying what the terrorists are, they are cold blooded murderers, not insurgents, terrorists. Nor are they criminals to be viewed as such under the fake international law of the Hague. Communist organizations always seem to give a pass to themselves or total despots for their war crimes and inhumane behavior.
I wonder if Iraqi street justice may take care of some other terrorists. Glad to see the citizens are acting now to stop the cause of the battles andterrorism.
The media and liberal looney left wants us to believe that nothing is working over there and it is. Come on, it takes nearly 30 years for parents to be ready to let their own children go and be themselves, so I think we’re doing just right.
How long will it take for Rep. Jack Murtha to call our troops in this incident murderers and terrorists and seek U.S. protection and legal counsel for the innocent Iraqi’s labeled as “criminals”?
Jack, yes I really get concerned with changing the name of what they call them, if this keeps up it will be “out of sorts friends” by the time the liberals get done naming the enemy.
Tom, that might be happening, so far I have not seen anything on it yet. But it sure is possible.
Lynn, I do too. These people never had anything like they have now, it has to be so strange to live without fear of being killed by Saddam.
Les, he would love to that’s for sure. GRRRR
