Red Skelton’s Pledge of Allegiance

Red Skelton’s “Pledge of Allegiance” was first introduced on the Red Skelton Show on January 14, 1969. It has since been twice read into the congressional record of The United States and has received numerous awards.

….Thank you Lynn this is so awesome.

darthcrUSAderworldtour07 says:

Thank-You and so is Johnny Cash’s ‘That Ragged Old Flag’…!

Lynn says:

I was so glad when my sister sent it to me.
It’s sad that the minority is telling the
majority what they can and can’t do.
If my kid wants to say “Under God,” then she’s
going to say, “under God.”
At least so far, our school district still does
the Pledge in full every morning in elementary
schools.
It’s so cute to see my 5 year old say the Pledge and put the emphasis on Under God. She can even say Indivisable. soooo cute.

Mark says:

Now this is a classic. Red Skelton. He once put on a show for some UN benefit, before it got so uppity. And there were no translators, with in minutes he had the whole audience in stitches.
And as he would end all of his shows with, “God Blaee.”

Mark says:

an error: Blaee= Bless.
‘Good night and God Bless’

TomR says:

I don’t think Red Skelton ever used one profanity to get his humor across. He did use a lot of very funny different characters though. Freddy the Freeloader would be funny today.

Jack says:

That should be required in every classroom. Red was my hero, he made it from abject poverty to the big time and he didn’t have to use the tact of Eddie Murphy’s language either. A real patriot Red’s military career found him on the front lines in Italy in the field artillery unit for 22 months.
Here is one of his funny rehersal outtakes with another wonderful entertainer.
Thank you Lynn and WT.

Wild Thing says:

Darth, yes that one is a good one too.

Wild Thing says:

Lynn how special and precious too about your daughter. Your a good mom Lynn and I love hearing about your family.

Wild Thing says:

Mark, you’re right, I remember that too how he ended his shows with God Bless.

Wild Thing says:

Tom that was a good one too.
You’re right about his not swearing in his act too.

Wild Thing says:

Jack, that is so great and thank you for the link.
