Chuck Norris is helping to inspire U.S. troops in Iraq – after soldiers erected a shrine to the tough guy in their base.
The troops in Baghdad have created a shrine out of cardboard and Post-It notes to the seemingly invincible actor.

“Chuck Norris puts the laughter in manslaughter.”
“The fastest way to a man’s heart is with Chuck Norris’s fist.”
“Chuck Norris doesn’t tea bag, he potato sacks. Booya!”
Norris has made the trek to Iraq several times to visit with troops over the years, including Falluja.

“The Marines love him. He’s like a mythical legend,” Staff Sergeant Amy Forsythe, who is stationed at the base in Falluja, told Reuters.

“He’s helped us a lot. The appeal is also his martial arts, and sheer physical presence … I don’t think I go a day without hearing a Norris joke,” said Corporal Ricardo Jones.

Norris’ appeal has reached Iraqis as well. “I’ve seen his videos, he’s a hero,” said police trainer Khaled Hussein. “He saves the city, he protects women and children and he fights crime wherever it is. We should all be like Chuck Norris.”

Sergeant Joe Lindsay says, “The jokes all add to his legend. They’re not derogatory. He’s an icon.”

SSgt Steve, USMC(P) says:

Whoa!!! They didn’t have Staff Sergeants like Amy Forsythe when I was in. Commandant, can I please come home?
Semper Fi,

BobF says:

Just to remind you all, Chuck Norris did serve in the US Air Force.

Lynn says:

Yes, he did serve–and proudly.
He didn’t whine about every little boo-boo he got, either, like some high falluting dummycrap senaturd from Mastachewsit.

Jack says:

Wow, Chuck is one respectable guy and he hasn’t fogotten who protects the nation. Nope, I never met a ’round eye’like Staff Sergeant Forsythe on my tour, that breast label says “U.S. Marines”. I did however meet one and only one female Marine at a field hospital, a major and a surgeon, she was as hardboiled as Chesty Puller.:) Semper Fi Ladies.
Strong and True
We can pick her out anywhere, even in a crowded hall;
She’s the one with shoulders back, chin up and standing tall.
Nothing out of place, no loose buttons or Irish pennants to be seen,
She would not stand for it; after all, she’s a Marine.
She has earned her right, suffering with bruises and pain;
The training is not easy; she made it and has the right to remain.
Though bruised and battered and at times her body bent,
She pushed herself forward, her own pain forgotten, as she stops to help a friend.
No matter what they pushed her way, she didn’t relent
Because she was bound and determined to make it to the end.
Pushing forward, at times against all odds, doing it all and more.
What’s inside that drives her is “Esprit de Corps.”
So when you see her standing in her uniform of blue or green,
Keep in mind she belongs to an elite sisterhood that accepts only the Few and the Proud.
ALways standing strong and true,
For she is a United States Woman Marine.
