From the Seattle Post

Wild Thing’s comment……..
We are seeing the cult of Obama take shape. God help our country.
Take a look at THIS…. OBAMA THE MESSIAH
And then there is THIS VIDEO called Yes We Can.
I cannot believe this is happening, and that so many people are this stupid. I am seeing it with my own eyes and I still find it hard to believe.

Lynn says:

You know, the Mayans, the IChing and several other ancients picked 12-21-2012 as the end of the world.
Were they right? Will a man with delusions of Godhood take us to Armageddon? Or will it be Jadyce (hitlery), the IceQueen from Narnia to do it?
Obama is NO Messiah. Why would anyone think so?
Even the Bible tells of the antichrist being treated like Obama is now.
He talks about ending the war, but what will he do afterwards when Iran takes over? We need to keep the Iranians out of Iraq.
But nobody really cares anymore what happens to America except us true conservatives. We want a life for our kids, grandkids and so on.

Rhod says:

Manias like this are not about ideas, they’re about ownership, identity and grievance. The triumph of liberalism is on display here.
Create a sense of deprivation, dissatisfaction and specialness in human beings, and they’re susceptible to every bullshit peddler on the planet.
Compromising democracies can’t survive in this atmosphere.

TomR says:

Yes, a cult is forming around Obama. One scary aspect, of many. He is young. If he does not get the presidency this time, he will be around for a long time.
The sheep gather like they did for Jim Jones. The wolves salivate quietly on the sidelines. The sheepdogs are being short leashed and the gates are about to be opened.
I bought another rifle this weekend and more ammo,

BobF says:

This question was asked by a writer for the Canadian Free Press: http://www.canadafreepress.com/2006/cover031006.htm
“What if Obama is engaged in pious fraud? This is a Muslim practice of pretending not to be Muslim to further the cause of Islam or to “defend the faith”. He becomes President and then says, “Gee…I think I want to be Muslim again” after he finds the “football” in his hands that carries the launch codes for the USA nuke forces.”

Mark says:

We got McCain and they got the anti-Christ.
So this leads to Christian white people being granted second class citizenship. This portels of evil and nothing good can come from this.

Rhod says:

No one could have predicted this, but it’s a process that started after WW II. For Obama, it’s the effect and power of the celebrity culture, and its dependence upon novelty.
They don’t mean “change”, they mean novelty, something new every second, transforming boredom into excitement, the everyday business of life and effort disappears for a stimulus, and the race to the next escapist thing. That’s the promise Obama holds for these weirdos.
I dislike Obama for a dozen reasons, but I’m more worried about the truly fantastic numbers of people who pour their own discontents into him and come out cleansed of worry. This isn’t good. It ends up in torchlights parades, scapegoating when it fails, and a fractured society.
This guy Obama is playing with fire. He can’t control the things he’ll unleash.

Jack says:

There are so many historical parallels that make me wary of all the candidates, especially the unknown and untested Obama. But then I’m just another paranoid conservative trying to live amongst the above lemmings displaying themselves in ‘red square’ Seattle.
Maybe the election events of March 4, 1933 and that of March 5, 1933 need a review, there is an irony here.

Rhod says:

Seattle? Good Lord.

Mark says:

If the ‘Hill’ is still in the race by our Primary, Pennsylvania I swear I am voting for Hillary if just to try to de-rail this ‘Pied-Piper’. This man is dangerous. And his surge seems to be growing.
Is he the 13th Imam that was at the bottom of the well that Achmadineeniejob was talking about,…If anything he is the anti-christ. And if this is true, then, we are indeed living in the end time.
The Obama supporters are manic, they want change and don’t care what form it comes in.
With Hillary at least we Know she is a socialist and is beatable, this guy goes beyond that, I don’t think he can be beat.
If that is the case, then, the Constitution will be shredded and re-written in sharia.
This man is sacry.
Jack talks about Hitler and his rise to power, but Adolf had the benefit of a lousy economy, where it took a wheel barrel full of Deutsch Marks to buy a loaf of bread. We don’t have that problem. We have 4 % unemployment. Germany had just lost a world war, they were severely restricted by the Versaille Treaty, he promised Germany first, he promised jobs, he promised a Germany for tomorrow and he delivered, for whatever it was worth, but the people had something to believe in, and this is the dangerous part, because there are no checks and balances. Only the ones with some forsight left early before they fell off the cliff.
Obama has promised ‘Change’ in what, from what to what. He hasn’t defined what change is. Yet these people are buying into it, hook, line and sinker. This is the most dangerous kind of leader there is.
After this is over, I wonder if some schmuck will find Obama’s name in one of the Fourtranes of Nostardamas.

Wild Thing says:

Lynn, yes, I was thinking about the anti-christ too. He is supposed to come from the East. I told my husband Obama doesn’t come from the east but Islam does.

Wild Thing says:

Rhod, amen and Obama sure is that a “bullshit peddler”.

Wild Thing says:

Tom yikes, I had not even thought of that. That he can run again if he does not win this time.
Help!!!
Good idea Tom. It is scary to me what I see going on with this guy.

Wild Thing says:

Bob thanks for that link. He could do that too, change once he gets elected and be full out Muslim. YIKES

Wild Thing says:

Mark that sure looks what it is….
“We got McCain and they got the anti-Christ.” The way these people are reacting to Obama is like it says in the Bible.
I hate even thinking that but when I saw these two things ( the links) it felt like it right away.

Wild Thing says:

Rhod, yes and I am very concerned about the intensity of his crowds too. The size of them and the intensity of how they react to him like godlike.
I agree with you too about his playing with fire.

Wild Thing says:

Jack those two links are intereting regarding all of this.
“red square’ Seattle”….it will be known for that for me now for sure.

Les says:

This is another news story that puts this cult of Obama thing in perspective.
Obama’s first coming
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,23182456-28737,00.html
It starts off,
“IT was early 1994 when Nelson Mandela gave a speech in a slum outside Cape Town and spoke in grand terms of a new beginning and how when he was elected president every household would have a washing machine.”
“People took him literally. A few months later he became South Africa’s first black president. That’s when clerks in department stores in Cape Town had to turn people away demanding their free washer and dryer.”
“Having spent some time as a reporter in South Africa watching the Mandela presidency I was reminded of that story this week when I travelled with Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on the campaign trail.”
“How does a cult figure, in the eyes of some something akin to a messiah, make the transition to a political frontrunner – president even – where disappointment will soon crush what seemed to be a journey to a promised land?”
————
The rise of Obama says less about him and more about the stupidity and gullibility of a nanny-state electorate who thinks life is all about “gimme”, “gimme”, “gimme”.

Wild Thing says:

Mark,I agree, this feels like some kind of power machine that I don’t know if it can be turned off or not.
Hillary is evil and we know her after those 8 horrible years in power with Bill. Crime, lies and cheating, gate’s, dead bodies are her thing, and all about power in the politcal realm.
Obama is a lot of that but more, changes in our culture, very possible catering to the followers of Islam and this cult reaction to him just scares the heck out of me.

Wild Thing says:

Les oh my gosh, great link thank you so much.
This is worth mentioning too:
“But then Obama, in the next sentence, in attempt to appeal to more voters out there, didn’t even mention the Democratic Party but instead his “movement” saying: “I want to speak directly to all those Americans who have yet to join this movement but still hunger for change: we need you. We need you to stand with us, and work with us, and help us prove that together, ordinary people can still do extraordinary things”.
Well known political journalist Joe Klein of Time magazine, who was travelling on the campaign plane this week with Obama, too, wrote of a nagging concern about this kind of rhetoric of inspiration over substance, noting “there was something just a wee bit creepy about the mass messiahnism”.
In his Super Tuesday speech Obama said “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for”, attempting to make the case the time was now to get some “change” in Washington: a post-partisan world where politicians reach across the aisle for the common good. “This time can be different because this campaign for the presidency of the United States of America is different,” he said. “It’s different not because of me. It’s different because of you.”
As Klein notes, this is “not just maddeningly vague but also disingenuous: the campaign is entirely about Obama and his ability to inspire.
“Rather than focusing on any specific issue or cause – other than an amorphous desire for change – the message is becoming dangerously self-referential. The Obama campaign all too often is about how wonderful the Obama campaign is.”
I hear that too in the voices of Obama’s staff constantly, themselves referring to this “cult of Obama”. “
