“The Ratline”
As students (Rats) enter Virginia Military Institute (VMI) — the nation’s first state-supported military college — they must adjust to the physical and psychological challenges designed to test their stamina, courage, and resolve. The school’s discipline and traditions have produced many outstanding graduates since VMI was founded in 1839. Today’s students react to the rigorous regiment.

TomR says:

That is a neat picture of the K9.
The military colleges like VMI, the Citadel and Texas A&M supply some of the finest officers in the military services. These “citizen soldiers” are less politically inclined than the grads of the service academies.

Jack says:

I agree Tom, we had one commissioned line officer, a butter bar, that was from OCS, two others were from Texas A&M and the old man was a mustang from the Korean era, I had the best deal, a WO2 that I’d served under when he was an E7. That OCS dud was universally disliked by the men and officers alike, he was nicknamed the spider because he preyed on everyone. Awwww!!! Love the K9 picture WT, guess I’ll have to get another dog to spoil, I do have a 4 month old Daschund friend that loves to steal my tools when I’m working at their place, the little brat zips by without stopping and grabs anything small enough to carry, like a tape measure or a screwdriver.

Les says:

I get the feeling that the K9 would like that picture captioned, “Proud to serve.”

Wild Thing says:

Tom, I love it too, when I saw the photo of the dog I wanted to hug him so much.

Wild Thing says:

Jack I am smiling so big, your Daschund sounds adorable. giggle So cute!

Wild Thing says:

Les that is a perfect title for the picture.
