‘Dozens died in Syria-Iran missile test’
Jerusalem Post
Proof of cooperation between Iran and Syria in the proliferation and development of weapons of mass destruction was brought to light Monday in a Jane’s Magazine report that dozens of Iranian engineers and 15 Syrian officers were killed in a July 23 accident in Syria.
According to the report, cited by Channel 10, the joint Syrian-Iranian team was attempting to mount a chemical warhead on a scud missile when the explosion occurred, spreading lethal chemical agents, including sarin nerve gas.
Reports of the accident were circulated at the time, however, no details were released by the Syrian government, and there were no hints of an Iranian connection.
The report comes on the heels of criticism leveled by the Syrains at the United States, accusing it of spreading “false” claims of Syrian nuclear activity and cooperation with North Korea to excuse an alleged Israeli air incursion over the country this month.
According to Global Security.org, Syria is not a signatory of either the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), – an international agreement banning the production, stockpiling or use of chemical weapons, or the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT).
Syria began developing chemical weapons in 1973, just before the Yom Kipper War. Global Security.org cites the country as having one of the most advanced chemical weapons programs in the Middle East.
Wild Thing’s comment……..
Man, I hate it when that happens. LOL “Ok, wait a minute. What’s this wire for?”
But um Syria and Iran are just innocent countries being wrongly harrassed by the US and Israel. NOT! I guess they were building it for peaceful civilian use. Ya think?
Global Security.org cites the country as having one of the most advanced chemical weapons programs in the Middle East.
They certainly don’t seem very well advanced in how to use them without killing themselves.
To add some hypocrisy to this story, “last April 9, the United Nations Disarmament Commission reelected Iran to the senior office of a vice chairman. The commission also elected Syria as its recording secretary.” Iran and Syria on a UN disarmament commission. Just more evidence on just how screwed up the world is.
So they hit their ally?
Oh goodness. Too bad, so sad, we’re stupid over
here in Iran. Couldn’t hit the wall inside a barn
with all the doors and windows shut.
Whoopsies!
Several less Syrians to worry about.
Hm. What’s three miles long and has an IQ of 165?
A Syrian-Iranian military parade.
And now to add insult to injury, Ahmaweeniejob wants permission to visit Ground-Zero, in New York City. And now it looks like he will get it.
And the Senate is trying to sneak an amnesty bill in on us today. We need another revolution, but I think we are really going to go down rather meekly. America was a great nation not too long ago.
Les thanks for the information. What a total mess, screwed up is right Les.
Lynn, hahaha yes they hit their ally.
“Several less Syrians to worry about.”….I agree.
Rhod, LMAO too funny.
Mark it sure is adding insult to injury. They finally said no but to even consider letting him go to Ground Zero. I swear they are insane.
Tom, I would love a revolution, I mean it.
I realize what I am saying and I know it is not going to happen too. Way too much apathy, I never saw anything like the apathy, how people just do not care. As long as they can say they were in less traffic today, and their coffee was hot and the bills are paid, and they got to go shopping for the latest outfit etc. No too many people are self involved, self absorbed in the next 5 minutes and not what is happening to our country.
If WW11 happened today, I even doubt the majority of people would make sacrifices for our troops and for the war. Heck I even doubt today’s population would seek out across this land like they did in the covered wagons. “What no air conditioning and star bucks?” heavens no I am busy today would be the out cry.
Looks like a DEVO video from the 80’s!
