Texas governor, Mexico agree to extend Trans-Texas Corridor

Official Mexican government reports reveal Mexico has entered discussions with the state of Texas and top officials in the Bush administration to extend the Trans-Texas Corridor into Mexico, with a plan to connect through Monterrey to the deep-water Mexican ports on the Pacific, including Manzanillo and Lazaro Cardenas.
The official website of the Mexican northeastern state of Nuevo León contain multiple reports that José Natividad Gonzáles Parás, governor of the Mexican state of Nuevo León, has actively discussed with numerous U.S. government officials, including Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, the extension of the Trans-Texas Corridor into Mexico to create what’s called a “Trans North America Corridor.”
In an August trip to Mexico, Perry made news in U.S. media by calling the idea of building a fence along the U.S.-Mexico border “idiocy.”
Largely unreported in the American press were meetings Perry held in Mexico with Gonzáles Parás in which the two discussed extending the corridor into Mexico.
We have had interaction with the governor of Texas,” Gonzáles Parás said. “We have had a very productive relationship with Rick Perry, who is also interested in what we can do to continue that which is known as the Trans-Texas Corridor, that in reality is the corridor of North America, the Trans North America Corridor, that includes railroads, bridges, passenger automobile highways, and truck highway lanes.”
Gonzáles Parás further explained the extension of TTC-35 into Mexico would connect through Monterrey, a city which he suggested would function as a hub for truck-freight traffic. Monterrey is the capital of Nuevo León.
Gonzáles Parás is reportedly pursuing plans to establish Monterrey as an “inland port” where international container freight cargo, largely delivered into Mexico via the Mexican ports on the Pacific, could be transported via a Trans North America Corridor into the United States via Laredo, Texas.
Once on I-35, the Mexican trucks transporting the Chinese containers could travel north, heading toward U.S. inland ports.
At the recent Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) third summit held in Montebello, Quebec, President Bush and Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper ridiculed the idea that SPP might result in the creation of a North American Union or NAFTA Superhighways.
These reports in Spanish published on the Nuevo León government website suggest that discussions about extending TTC-35 into Mexico are much further advanced that have been admitted by the Bush administration or reported upon in the U.S. mainstream media.

I saw on Fox, the CEO of Mattel was testfying before some committee, and he apologised for the lead paint. From China. Not one Senator asked him why all of Mattel’s toys are made in China.

Then they had on a Spokes-woman for the NPSC, these bureaucratic morons run around the country suing every company that doesn’t comply to their demands on product safty.(National Product Safety Council)
We in the Electrical Industry are constantly hammered by these people. All the NPSC has to do is sneeze and the code panel, writes another 20 pages of corrections to a problem that could have been corrected in the field.
During a recent NEC class( We are mandated by the State to take 10 class hours per year to maintain our license, at a cost of 300 dollars a day) which is mandatory for all licensed Electricians we were told of the Global Code, and a New code that will come out for Mexico, Canada and the United States.
When I first got into this field our code book was almost a pamphlet size book and cost about 10-12 dollars. Today in fact, the new code for 2008 comes out this fall, the prices range from 75-275 dollars, it is now a behemoth of a Book. Also the New code is available in Spanish and French. I can’t wait when it goes trans-contenental in the three languages.
Electrical Inspectors in California are now required to speak Spanish. The Building trades are having the same problem.
This SSP and the NAU is coming at us fast. This is why I don’t trust the Congress for voting down the Trucking Bill, their is something more sinister coming after this.
WE the people are not going to have a say in this. This aspect of it is truly Orwellian.

This plan is being done almost in total secrecy. You would think that the major news media, that supposedly hates everything about Bush, would be on this like pimps on bling. However, they and Bush seem almost in partnership in keeping this major and rapidly moving plan quiet.
While the Ameican public is focused on the front door of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, it seems the enemy terrorists of American soverienty are being let in the back door.
The recent overwhelming American backlash against the attempted Amnesty Bill showed that the American public does not want any type of open borders with Mexico, or any type of Latinization of America. Looks like we are going to get anyway, the Constitution and culture be damned.
Lou Dobbs points out that it is the elites behind this, going for more wealth and power. This is evident in the fact that there is no attack on a Republican Administration by a Democrat Congress. Both of these institutions are populated by “elites”. Ordinarily the Democrats would be viciously attacking Bush over any plan the Republican President proposed.

This will also be an American taxpayer subsidation of Chinese business.
I read a article somewhere that said the Texas school system wants to ban the phrase ‘Remember the Alamo’, because it might be offensive to Mexican children.
Didn’t Mexico win that battle. An offensive phrase might be ‘Remember the Ass-kickin the Mexicans got after the Alamo.’

I see what you mean now by not trusting this latest attempt to stop the truckers from Mexico. Bush probably will not vote for it, but like you said, something else is up and we will have no say in it at all.

Tom, yes our voices were heard with the Amnesty bill but it only stopped them from passing it, no fence and no attempt at doing things right since.
I agree this is just complely sneaky and backroom stuff, and it is very scary.
