Iran tests new air defense system
Jerusalem Post
Iran said on Monday it had tested a new air defense system to counter missiles and aircraft during large-scale military exercises throughout the country, state-run television reported.

“The upgraded missiles successfully destroyed the presumed enemies’ missiles in low altitude simultaneously in several points,” said Gen. Amir Amini, deputy commander of Iran’s Air Force.

An Iranian fighter jet drops bombs during the army’s air force maneuvers at an undisclosed location in Iran, Monday, September 4, 2006.
The television footage showed at least four surface-to-air missiles being fired from mobile launching pads. The report did not say if the missile was equipped with a guidance system.
During maneuvers dubbed “The Blow of Zolfaghar,” which began in August 19, Iran test fired short-range surface-to-surface and sub-to-surface missiles.
Iran’s military test-fired a series of missiles during large-scale war games in the Persian Gulf in March and April, including a missile it claimed was not detectable by radar that can use multiple warheads to hit several targets simultaneously,
After decades of relying on foreign weapons purchases, Iran now says it is increasingly self-sufficient in its military equipment claiming it annually exports more than US$100 million (€81 million) worth of military equipment to more than 50 countries.
Since 1992, Iran has produced its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles and a fighter plane, the government has said. It announced in early 2005 that it had begun production of torpedoes.

Iran a great place to expend old nuke ordinance that needs to be replaced wit newer.

BobF says:

The Iranian Jet is a F-4 Phantom. In its day the F-4 ruled the sky’s but today it’s an obsolete relic. Compared to a F-16 or F-18, it like a Piper Cub going up against a P-51 Mustang.
Iran launches a few missiles, drops a few bombs, and claims to produce a few weapons and the MSM pees its pants and says we need to have dialog with them. MY Gosh, have these idiots ever seen a Carrier Battle Group deploy. Their is more firepower in on Battle Group than Iran could ever hope to muster in a decade.

Jack says:

Thanks WT. Great old tune from the 80’s, as valid now as it was back then.
When I worked at the nuclear facility learning my profession we processed nuclear fuel for reactors and Isotopes for industry and the medical profession, along with some Plutonium for Uncle Sam. There was the Gamma pit, in a building that really needed no lights from the underwater glow in there, ’twas a sight to behold, it made a believer out of me.
This is what Iran has stated it wants to unleash against Israel and the United States. They want enriched Uranium, to take the natural U238 then enrich it to the Isotope U235, a weapons grade isotope which is less efficient than Plutonium, Uranium-235 has a half-life of 700 million years, then they’ll soon want Plutonium -239 which has a half-life of 24,110 years.
If they think that a pig is filthy wait until they get some radiation sickness, the heathens.
Uranium is a bad actor, but safe compared to Plutonium, both will kill you from the blast effects, radiation sickness, longterm cancer and genetic defects, this is the danger that the UN poses for the World while they drag their feet, appeasing and doing the bidding of Islam, this is what Vladimir Putin has presented to the ragheads. Don’t think for a minute that Iran’s president ‘I’m bent in the head” won’t use the Uranium as a weapon against the west. That alone ought to create a high pucker factor in any rational mind.
Happiness is to see Tehran leveled like Nagasaki and Hiroshima, too hot to enter for the first 6 months, with that glow about it, sorry Damascus but the blast radius is a bit large, does it hurt? Let’s not forget the root of the evil, Mecca and Medina treat them with the same holy medicine, give them the nuclear capability they deserve and let them bask in that blue glow.

Jack H. works for me.

Bob you said it!!! There sure is.
“Their is more firepower in on Battle Group than Iran could ever hope to muster in a decade.”

Wild Thing says:

Jack wow that is soooooo interesting. Thank you so much for sharing about that.

TomR says:

That tune will be in my head now for days, I am not complaining.
Thanks for the inf Jack. I wonder if a handling accident could be arranged at Iran’s main uranium handlig point?
Some day Bush may be awakened and find out his pal Vladimir is an enemy agent.

Nuke’em till they glow, that’s me motto. It’s not if, it’s WHEN!

Billy says:

Wild Thing,
Thanks, great video. I have a “Death To Iran” bumper sticker on my truck that I made last spring and I seem to get alot of positive comments on it. (except when I drive through Dearborn)
Great job on your site. Your tenacity is humbling. I have checked it throughout the summer but it always seemed like there was never enough time to comment, or, even tend to my own blog. It’s been a busy few months. Things are slowing down somewhat now so I may have some time to rejoin the dialogue.
Thanks again
Billy
