U.S. Soldier to America: “Don’t Let a Bunch of Whiny, Marxist Sycophants Lose This Thing”
Popular radio talk-show host Laura Ingraham is broadcasting from Iraq this week, and she has spent quite a bit of time talking with our fine troops.
On today’s show (Tuesday, February 7, 2006), Laura talked with Major Doug Anderson, from Fairbanks, Alaska, and he had some words for those of us back home (audiotape on file):
“To the American people, I just wanted to say: Don’t let a bunch of whiny, Marxist sycophants back home lose this thing.”
Laura (in addition to countless listeners also, I’m sure) let out a loud “Yes!”
Amen! Thank you, Major Anderson! As we’ve seen in the past….remember this…..
Today Show: US Soldier in Iraq Zaps Media – “I’d Be Depressed Too If I Got my News from the Newspapers“
An unannounced trip to Iraq by Matt Lauer of Today Show — one US soldier had a little surprise of his own for Today and the media at large.
Lauer interviewed a group of soldiers at Camp Liberty in Baghdad, and at one point asked about the state of morale. After getting two responses to the effect that morale was good, Lauer had this to say:
Don’t get me wrong, I think you’re probably telling the truth, but there might be a lot of people at home wondering how that could be possible with the conditions you’re facing and with the insurgent attacks you’re facing. ”
Captain Sherman Powell nailed Lauer, the MSM and the anti-war crowd with this beauty:
“Well sir, I’d tell you, if I got my news from the newspapers also I’d be pretty depressed as well!”
Bada-bing!
God bless our brave men and women.
I am waiting for the “MSM News Hour with Michael Yon”. I am waiting, waiting, wa—–,——-
I know what you mean…..all the waiting. haha Good to see you.
LOL! Bada-bing! It’s about time that the MSM got a good whack up side it’s empty head. Courtesy of Laura Ingraham, and the men and women of our armed forces.
My oldest step son on his return from his first tour of Iraq stopped reading and watching MSM. He was angered about how nothing was being said about all the positive accomplishments that our men and women have achieved.
Lauer is a smug, pretty boy MSM biased yahoo. Asked a question that he thought he knew the answer to. Got smacked for being stupid.
Michael Yon, on his own time and money has spent a whole lot of time in Iraq reporting about our troops in a way that reminds me of Ernie Pyle. I don’t think Michael Yon would work for the MSM. He has integrity and honor.

Lauer was only expressing the expectations of an alien life form in an unfamiliar environment. I mean that. A doofus lefty like Lauer hasn’t the capacity to understand military issues, the character of a soldier, what dedication to a mission means, what comradeship is, or how passing and irrelevant your surroundings can be.
War stinks, but a soldier would be within his rights to ask Lauer how he can stand sitting on his ass in a New York TV studio, and stroking Couric’s hardened little ego. The Japanese had a solution to this kind of humiliation; it’s called Hari Kari.
Leftism is the worldview of the permanently comfortable. Comfort, ease and parasitism is their natural state, and this leaves them unfit and dangerous to others in a competitive world.
RightToCarry, your oldest step son is right about MSM.
Lauer is a worthless jerk big time. I never ever watch the Today show and never will unless they get rid of Katie and Matt for good. They both have crossed the line too many times and the anger I get because of them is too hard to get rid of, seething anger.. grrrr
Thank you for commenting.
Rhod, he sure is “alien life form in an unfamiliar environment”! Can’t we get rid of the left…waaaa I want to…..pretty please.
RTC:
Please thank your stepson for us when you can. One of ours is currently in Sadr City with the 101st. Doing it yourself is one thing, being the parent of a combat soldier is worse. Salute.
Rhod:
I certainly will. Please thank your sons for me too. Mine is somewhere near Bagdad working for KBR, rebuilding Iraq’s infrastructure. The wife and I have good days and not so good days. It doesn’t help when he told us not long ago that they get incoming mortar rounds into his compound. He said that most of them of duds and not to worry….. What don’t worry? Kids….
I,d like cooperate teamly with another country if those are honorable;hence, with an originally iranian
