Then over at Department of Defense News they were sharing about Sky Soldiers being honored in Afghanistan.
U.S. Army Gen. John Abizaid, U.S. Central Command commander, congratulates Staff Sgt. Matthew Blaskowski, Chosen Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne) on receiving the Silver Star for gallantry in combat during a fire fight May 3, 2005, in Zabul Province, Afghanistan. Three Silver Stars and three Purple Hearts were presented to the soldiers for actions taken and injuries sustained during Operation Enduring Freedom VI. This company killed about 40 of the bad guys during the operation cited in the awards.
