John Conyers, 86, to seek another term after 52 years in Congress

DETROIT, MI — U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, first elected to Congress in 1964, plans to seek yet another term.

The 86-year-old congressman has scheduled a pair of Monday events launching his re-election campaign in Detroit and Redford.

He'll be seeking 27th consecutive term.

After 50 years in office, Conyers' last run was briefly put in jeopardy when he was found ineligible for the ballot because a pair of campaign workers were not registered voters when they circulated petitions for his ballot application.

A judge later reversed that finding, ordering Conyers' name placed on the ballot. He won that election by a wide margin.

Conyers is ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee. He was the committee's first African-American chair between 2007 and 2011.

He is the dean and a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Conyers has been the longest serving member of Congress since former U.S. Rep. John Dingell, D-Dearborn, the all-time longest-serving member, retired in 2014.

Hillary Made Bill Take HIV Test

Hillary Clinton once forced her horn dog hubby Bill to get an HIV test because she knew he preferred to do things au naturel with multiple mistresses, according to an explosive new book, “Bill and Hillary: So This Is That Thing Called Love,” the New York Post gossip section “Page Six” reported Sunday night.

Hillary got tested also. The Clintons drew a collective sigh of relief when they proved negative.

Authors Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince also claim that Bill waged his own little war on a woman named Jackie Kennedy Onassis at her Fifth Avenue apartment.

The former First Lady apparently met resistance when she rebuffed his advances. “We almost indulged in a wrestling match. It was most embarrassing,” she allegedly later told longtime Washington Post publisher Katherine Graham.

“I mean, I was flattered that I turned him on so much at my age, but Bill was just like Jack [Kennedy] in the sense that neither of them wanted to take ‘no’ for an answer. Ever since that day, I prefer not to be alone with Bill.”

Trump drops 12 percentage points in poll

Donald Trump's support among Republicans has dropped 12 points in less than a week, marking the real estate mogul's biggest decline since he vaulted to the top of the field in July, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Trump was the favorite of 31 percent of Republicans in a rolling poll in the five days ended on Nov. 27. That was down from a peak of 43 percent registered on Nov. 22.

The dip follows criticism of Trump for comments he made in the aftermath of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more.

Following the attacks, Trump told an NBC News reporter that he would support requiring all Muslims within the United States to be registered to a special database, which his critics have likened to the mandatory registration of Jews in Nazi Germany.

Trump has also been criticized for flailing his arms and distorting his speech as he mocked a New York Times reporter, Serge Kovaleski, who is disabled.

Trump mocked the reporter as he defended his unsubstantiated assertion that during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, he watched on television as "thousands and thousands" of people in New Jersey cheered while the World Trade Center fell.

Krauthammer’s : Under Obama, ISIS Has Created Largest Terror-Training State in History

Under President Obama’s leadership, ISIS has created a terrorist-training proto-state bigger than anything in the history of the world, Charles Krauthammer charged tonight.

“We just learned today, we did not even flatten the oil facilities of ISIS, because it would harm the environment,” Krauthammer said on Wednesday’s Special Report on Fox News.

“I mean, we’re not asking a lot of the president; we’re simply asking what the French president asked for, a modicum or urgency, a modicum of commitment, and it has never been there and it isn’t there now and it’s not going to happen between now and the day he leaves office.”

“He came into office determined to abolish the War on Terror,” Krauthammer continued. “He wouldn’t allow the term …Then he said in several speeches, we cannot continue with endless war because the damage it does to the fabric of our society. As if, like King Canute, he can order the war to stop; wars end when either one side is defeated or the other side stops, the other side is not stopping.”

Unlike al Qaeda, Krauthammer said, ISIS recruits people of all races and faiths into their terror-training nexus, which is what makes them uniquely dangerous:

Under Obama’s tenure, al Qaeda, which is sort of international terrorism jihadist terrorism, has expanded to the point where a branch, ISIS is essentially a branch, is the largest training camp for terrorism in the history of the world. It’s the size of the UK. It trains Europeans — unlike al Qaeda, which was using only people of its own ethnic group. Arab, Saudis, Egyptians. It trains westerners, it sends them into the West. That’s why everyone is afraid. Paris showed what they’re capable of doing. We know that they’ve been doing it for years. Obama has not been moved one way or the other. To do anything serious. He wouldn’t even hit the oil facilities.

Horrible Obama Compares Unvetted Syrian Muslim Migrants to Pilgrims on the Mayflower

In his Thanksgiving message this year Barack Obama compared Syrian refugees to the Mayflower.

New ISIS Video Claims U.S. Soldiers ‘Lack The Will’, Mock Obama For Cooking Intel Reports On Them

A new English-language propaganda video released on Tuesday, purportedly from the Islamic State’s Al-Hayat Media Center, claims that for all their military skill and superior technology, Western troops are weaker than jihadis.

America is portrayed as exhausted and demoralized from wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, while ISIS fighters “haunt the mind of your soldiers and sew fear into their hearts.”

The video, which employs flashy graphics and a voice-over that sounds like the ranting of a video game super-villain, boasts about the size of the Islamic State’s khilafah (caliphate), which is already larger than Britain.

The “prophetic methodology” of this caliphate, “striving to follow the Koran and sura,” is supposedly far superior to Western states “built on man-made rules,” with armies that fight for “the interests of legislators, liars, fornicators, and corporations, and for the freedoms of sodomites.” The camera pans to various presidents during this rant, lingering on George W. Bush for the word “liars” and Bill Clinton for “fornicators.”

“We are men honored with Islam, who climb its peaks to perform jihad, answering the call to unite under one flag. This is the source of our glory: our obedience to our Lord,” declares the narrator.

The video portrays ISIS’ mania for destroying ancient historical sites and artifacts as a noble crusade to “stomp the idols of nationalism,” because “there is no honor to be found in the remnants of shirk and nationalism.” Shirk is the Islamic term for idolatry.

The presentation goes on to portray strict adherence to Islamic law as the cure for racial divisions. “Justice is served with the establishment of the Islamic courts,” says the narrator, while the screen displays a book of sharia law. He boasts about the large number of schools ISIS has established so its children – “cubs and pearls” – can study sharia and “share in the great rewards of expanding this khilafah.”

“America, you claim to have the greatest army history has known,” the narrator taunts. “You may have the numbers and weapons, but your soldiers lack the will and resolve, still scarred from their defeats in Afghanistan and Iraq. They return dead, or suicidal, with over 6.500 of them killing themselves each year.”

The video then alludes to the scandal over cooked intelligence reports currently rocking the Obama White House, which has been accused of falsifying intelligence to make Obama’s anti-ISIS strategy look more successful.

There are also taunts about the Americans being too cowardly to fight them on the ground, instead attacking from the safety of the skies with extremely expensive missiles. Jihadis, on the other hand, are said to prefer “fifty-cent bullets.”

The international alliance against ISIS is described as a “coalition of devils” that now includes Iran, Turkey, and Russia. This might not have been the best moment to assert that Turkey and Russia are partners in a coalition.

The video says this coalition formed because the kufat (infidels) will “always unite to fight the truth.”

“So bring it on, all of you,” the narrator sneers, expressing the hope that the number of nations aligned against ISIS will reach the magic number foretold in Islamic prophecy, at which point “the flames of war will finally burn you on the hills of Dabiq.” Dabiq is also the name of the Islamic State’s magazine. The notion of an apocalyptic battle between infidels and Muslims in that region of Syria is a major component of their ideology.

The video ends with the assertion that Allah is the ally of ISIS, and a quote from the Koran that boils down to “come at me, bro.” The video makers do not seem to agree that Islam is a religion of total peace and serene tolerance, or that jihad is basically a vigorous form of yoga.

Surging Concealed Carry: The American Response To Paris Terror Attacks

A large part of the American response to the Paris terror attacks is a surge in concealed carry, with a greater-than 100 percent jump in permit applications in some places.

sign-ups for concealed carry classes at San Antonio’s Texas Guns “doubled” following the Paris attacks and permit applications in Limestone County, Alabama, saw their “biggest spike” following the attacks as well.

Now there is Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where Police One reports that permit applications for one day increased by more than 100 percent on Monday, November 16. The Allegheny Sheriff’s Office described the days after the Paris attacks as those in which “the line [for concealed carry permit applications] will go clear out the door [and] wrap around to the courtyard.” The sheriff’s office estimated the number of phone calls relating to concealed carry “]quadrupled]” in the attack aftermath.

The NRA-ILA reports that concealed carry permit applications “more than doubled” in Chester County, Pennsylvania. And Cleveland’s ABC 5 reports that concealed carry permit applications in Summit County, Ohio were up 60-percent on Wednesday, November 18, compared to Wednesday, November 11.

ABC 5 reported that permit applications “doubled” in Portage County, Ohio, too.

As these surges in concealed carry take place around the country they are being complimented by a sharp rise in gun sales. And it is important to note that many of those buying guns in the wake of the Paris attacks are first time gun buyers. Breitbart News reported this jump in first time gun buyers last week, ABC 3 reported it in Florida, and ABC 5 reports that the gun stores in Ohio are seeing the same thing.

Store owners say that people who have never owned a gun before are now coming in to obtain one for the security it provides.

Obama misquotes inscription on Statue of Liberty

Obama misquoted the inscription on the Statue of Liberty, ever so slightly, while making a point Tuesday about America’s enduring alliance with France and his contested plan to accept Syrian refugees.

At a White House press conference with French President Francois Hollande, Mr. Obama said the statue — a gift from France to the U.S. — is a symbol of welcome to those seeking a better life in America. Then he said Lady Liberty bears an inscription of “words we know so well.”

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free,” Mr. Obama quoted the inscription as saying.

Actually, the inscription on the Statue of Liberty reads, “masses yearning to breathe free,” not “be free.”

Mr. Obama noted that France has agreed to accept 30,000 Syrian refugees, while the House has voted to delay his plan to take in 10,000 refugees.

The president said of the Statue of Liberty’s message, “That’s the spirit that makes us Americans. That’s the spirit that binds us to France.”

State Dept. issues 'worldwide travel alert' for U.S. citizens

Citing threats from ISIS, al Qaeda, and Boko Haram the State Department has issued a travel warning for the next three months.

The State Department on Monday issued a global travel warning for all U.S. citizens due to risks from "increased terrorist threats."

State said the warning would last for three months, until Feb. 24, 2016.

"Current information suggests that ISIL (aka Da'esh), al-Qa'ida, Boko Haram, and other terrorist groups continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions," State said. "These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics, using conventional and non-conventional weapons and targeting both official and private interests."

"Authorities believe the likelihood of terror attacks will continue as members of ISIL/Da'esh return from Syria and Iraq," State said. "Additionally, there is a continuing threat from unaffiliated persons planning attacks inspired by major terrorist organizations but conducted on an individual basis."

The travel alert seems to go against the message being delivered by President Obama himself. Over the weekend, Obama encouraged Americans not to be afraid the terrorist group, and specifically said one of the key tools the U.S. should use to fight the group is not to fear it.

Council on Foreign Relations on Damning Report About Obama Admin’s Islamic State Intel

Over the weekend, possibly the most alarming news you’ll hear about the war against ISIS brewed up again in the wake of the President’s latest attempt to minimize the risks people face and prop up his own worldview and policy desires.

The Pentagon is expanding their “inquiry” into whether Centcom doctored intelligence to make it seem as if the war against ISIS were going better than it was, and also to make ISIS appear to be weaker and less of a threat than it actually is. In other words, whether intelligence was altered to shore up President JV’s assessment of the enemy and his continuing objections that everything is fine.

It was the morning of the terror attack in Paris when President Obama claimed ISIS was contained. Even this weekend the President said they were just killers with “good social media.” France, England, Russia, and tens of thousands of refugees seem to disagree.

Richard Haas, an American diplomat and president of the Council on Foreign Relations, said on Monday there are serious implications if a recent New York Times report suggesting the Obama administration “cooked” intel on the Islamic State turns out to be true.

“I hope it’s not true. I hope it’s not true,” Haas said. “The principle requirement of intelligence analysts is to speak truth to power. It’s not to make them comfortable, it’s to make them smart and aware.”

He continued, “If it is true, it’d be very interesting to know exactly where the pressure is coming from because it’s corrosive. It means you can’t then trust what policy is based on. So it is truly, truly a bad thing if, again, it is true.”

Pentagon Expands Inquiry Into Intelligence on ISIS Surge

When Islamic State fighters overran a string of Iraqi cities last year, analysts at United States Central Command wrote classified assessments for military intelligence officials and policy makers that documented the humiliating retreat of the Iraqi Army. But before the assessments were final, former intelligence officials said, the analysts’ superiors made significant changes.

In the revised documents, the Iraqi Army had not retreated at all. The soldiers had simply “redeployed.”

Such changes are at the heart of an expanding internal Pentagon investigation of Centcom, as Central Command is known, where analysts say that supervisors revised conclusions to mask some of the American military’s failures in training Iraqi troops and beating back the Islamic State. The analysts say supervisors were particularly eager to paint a more optimistic picture of America’s role in the conflict than was warranted.

In recent weeks, the Pentagon inspector general seized a large trove of emails and documents from military servers as it examines the claims, and has added more investigators to the inquiry.

The attacks in Paris last week were a deadly demonstration that the Islamic State, once a group of militants focused on seizing territory in Iraq and Syria, has broadened its focus to attack the West. The electronic files seized in the Pentagon investigation tell the story of the group’s rise, as seen through the eyes of Centcom, which oversees military operations across the Middle East.

Majority Of Americans Don’t Trust Obama To Defeat Islamic State

A new poll released Monday morning by CBS showed a majority of Americans do not trust President Obama to defeat the Islamic State.

Only 23 percent of Americans said they believe the president has a clear plan for how he will “degrade and ultimately destroy” IS. Three times more Americans, 66 percent, said he has no clear plan. Perhaps even more alarming for Obama, more Democrats say he has no strategy than believe he has a blueprint for success.

More Americans support sending ground troops into Syria after the coordinated terrorist attacks in Paris on Nov. 13 that killed over 130 people. Currently half of the country supports sending more Americans to fight the Islamic caliphate, up four percent from this summer.

Only one in five Americans believe airstrikes will do enough to defeat IS compared to 63 percent who believe a ground presence will be necessary.

Barack Obama Dropped Leaflets- Gave ISIS 45 Minutes Before Bombing Them

The worst part is that this is Obama’s version of an “escalation”. He could have taken out ISIS tanker trucks a long time ago, but then the drivers would have died. (Via J.E. Dyer)

“In Al-Bukamal, we destroyed 116 tanker trucks, which we believe will reduce ISIL’s ability to transport its stolen oil products,” Warren said. “This is our first strike against tanker trucks, and to minimize risks to civilians, we conducted a leaflet drop prior to the strike. We did a show of force, by — we had aircraft essentially buzz the trucks at low altitude.”

The leaflets, which fluttered to the ground about 45 minutes before the strikes, simply said: “Get out of your trucks now, and run away from them. Warning: airstrikes are coming. Oil trucks will be destroyed. Get away from your oil trucks immediately. Do not risk your life.”

“We combine these leaflet drops with very low altitude passes of some of our attack aviation, which sends a very powerful message,” the colonel added.

He said the decision to drop warnings came after they “assessed that these trucks, while although they are being used for operations that support ISIL, the truck drivers, themselves, probably not members of ISIL; they’re probably just civilians.”

“So we had to figure out a way around that. We’re not in this business to kill civilians, we’re in this business to stop ISIL — to defeat ISIL.”

Thus, they tried to come up with a strategy “to kind of shoo people away without harming them.”

Pew Poll: 63 Million Muslims Support ISIS in Eleven Countries

A new Pew Poll released this week found that 63 million Muslims support the Islamic State in the eleven Muslim countries polled.

A new poll by the Pew Research Center reveals significant levels of support for ISIS within the Muslim world. In 11 representative nation-states, up to 14 percent of the population has a favorable opinion of ISIS, and upwards of 62 percent “don’t know” whether or not they have a favorable opinion of the Islamist group.

In Pakistan, a nuclear weapons state, only 28 percent of the public view ISIS unfavorably. By this overwhelming degree of either tacit support or tolerance for ISIS in the country, ISIS should be considered as a potential proxy nuclear weapons power via its linkages and support within Pakistan.

When broken down by ethnicity and religion, the results are equally troubling. In Israel, 4 percent of its Arab population – which equates to more than 66,000 individuals – have a favorable view of ISIS…

… For these 11 nation-states alone, the favorability ratings for ISIS reported by the Pew poll are indicative of at least 63 million ISIS supporters – and potentially upwards of 287 million if the undecided are included in the calculation.

ISIS Working To Produce Chemical Weapons

BAGHDAD (AP) — The Islamic State group is aggressively pursuing development of chemical weapons, setting up a branch dedicated to research and experiments with the help of scientists from Iraq, Syria and elsewhere in the region, according to Iraqi and U.S. intelligence officials.

Their quest raises an alarming scenario for the West, given the determination to strike major cities that the group showed with its bloody attack last week in Paris. U.S. intelligence officials don’t believe IS has the capability to develop sophisticated weapons like nerve gas that are most suited for a terrorist attack on a civilian target. So far the group has used mustard gas on the battlefield in Iraq and Syria.

Still, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls on Thursday warned that Islamic extremists might at some point use chemical or biological weapons.

“Terrorism hit France not because of what it is doing in Iraq and Syria … but for what it is,” Valls told the lower house of Parliament. “We know that there could also be a risk of chemical or biological weapons,” he added, though he did not talk of a specific threat.

Rush Limbaugh responded to Obama’s outrageous attacks telling his audience, “Obama has become dangerous.”

RUSH LIMBAUGH: There’s nothing new going on here. There’s no new bigotry or racism or anti this or anti that. There’s nothing unprecedented happening here, other than Obama. Obama is what’s unprecedented. The Democrat Party is what’s unprecedented. Transforming the country, doing damage to the country, that is what everybody’s concern ought to be, not those trying to protect it. During the Q&A a reporter said, “Would you care to comment at all on some of the discussion back at home about allowing Syrian refugees into the US? There have been some lawmakers talk about closing our borders to them.”

OBAMA: Apparently they’re scared of widows and orphans coming in to the United States of America as part of our tradition of compassion. At first they were worried about the press being too tough on ’em during debates. Now they’re worried about three-year-old orphans. That doesn’t sound very tough to me. They’ve been playing on fear in order to try to score political points or to advance their campaigns. And it’s irresponsible. And it’s contrary to who we are. And it needs to stop, because the world is watching.

Barack Obama is vowing to veto a bill from House Republicans that would increase screening for Syrian and Iraqi refugees before they enter the United States.

The White House says the legislation would introduce “unnecessary and impractical requirements” that would harm efforts to assist some of the world’s most vulnerable people.

The bill would add a new requirement for FBI background checks. It does not call for ending the refugee program or require religious screenings, as some Republicans have demanded.

Obama, who is traveling in Asia, has been sharply critical of Republicans for trying to bar Syrian refugees following the Paris attacks.

The House is set to vote on the legislation Thursday. Democratic leaders have turned against it, saying it would essentially keep refugees out of the U.S. entirely.

Al Qaeda Terrorists Who Killed American Soldiers Were Allowed In To U.S. Thru Refugee Program

Two al Qaeda terrorists who had killed American soldiers were able to enter the country as refugees, according to a report released Wednesday from the House Homeland Security committee.

Waad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi, two Iraqi refugees settled in Bowling Green, Kentucky, after killing American soldiers, whom they bragged about having “for lunch and dinner.” In 2010, they were caught handling weapons, including included a machine gun and a missile launcher, that they planned to smuggle to insurgents in Iraq.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if there were many more than that,” said Rep. Michael McCaul (R., Texas), the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security. “And these are trained terrorists in the art of bombmaking that are inside the United States; and quite frankly, from a homeland security perspective, that really concerns me.”

Obama WH Refuses Governors Information on Refugees

Governors Press White House for Refugee Information

In a call with senior Obama administration officials Tuesday evening, several governors demanded they be given access to information about Syrian refugees about to be resettled by the federal government in their states. Top White House officials refused

Over a dozen governors from both parties joined the conference call, which was initiated by the White House after 27 governors vowed not to cooperate with further resettlement of Syrian refugees in their states. The outrage among governors came after European officials revealed that one of the Paris attackers may have entered Europe in October through the refugee process using a fake Syrian passport. (The details of the attacker's travels are still murky.)

The administration officials on the call included White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, State Department official Simon Henshaw, FBI official John Giacalone, and the deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center John Mulligan.

On the call several Republican governors and two Democrats -- New Hampshire’s Maggie Hassan and California’s Jerry Brown -- repeatedly pressed administration officials to share more information about Syrian refugees entering the United States. The governors wanted notifications whenever refugees were resettled in their states, as well as access to classified information collected when the refugees were vetted.

“There was a real sense of frustration from all the governors that there is just a complete lack of transparency and communication coming from the federal government,” said one GOP state official who was on the call.

The administration officials, led by McDonough, assured the governors that the vetting process was thorough and that the risks of admitting Syrian refugees could be properly managed. He added that the federal government saw no reason to alter the current method of processing refugees.

Florida governor Rick Scott asked McDonough point blank if states could opt out of accepting refugees from Syria. McDonough said no, the GOP state official said.

In a readout of the call Tuesday night, the White House said that several governors "expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to better understand the process and have their issues addressed." The White House noted that "others encouraged further communication" from the administration about the resettlement of refugees.

Hassan, one of two Democrats to challenge the administration on the call, had already come out in favor of halting the flow of Syrian refugees to the United States. She expressed anger that state officials aren't notified when Syrian refugees are resettled in their territory.

Brown said he favored continuing to admit Syrian refugees but wanted the federal government to hand over information that would allow states to keep track of them, the GOP state official said.

McDonough responded to Brown that there was currently no process in place to give states such information and the administration saw no reason to change the status quo. The non-governmental organizations that help resettle the refugees would have such information.

Brown countered by noting that state law enforcement agencies have active investigations into suspected radicals and that information about incoming Syrian refugees could help maintain their awareness about potential radicalization. He suggested the U.S. had to adjust the way it operates in light of the Paris attacks.

McDonough reiterated his confidence in the current process. While promising to consider what Brown and other senators had said, he emphasized that the administration had no plans to increase information sharing on refugees with states as of now.

Top GOP senators echoed the concerns of governors Tuesday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr joined House Speaker Paul Ryan’s call for a “pause” in the flow of Syrian refugees, which is intended to include 10,000 people by 2016. McConnell said "the ability to vet people coming from that part of the world is really quite limited."

Democratic senators are split on the issue. Senators Chuck Schumer and Dianne Feinstein said Tuesday there may be a need for a pause in accepting Syrian refugees but they both wanted to hear more from the administration about the issue. Sen. Dick Durbin said that refugees aren’t the primary source of concern. He pointed to the millions of foreign visitors who enter America each year.

“Background checks need to be redoubled in terms of refugees but if we’re talking about threats to the United States, let’s put this in perspective,” he said. “Let us not just single out the refugees as the potential source of danger in the United States.”

The White House is trying hard to engage governors and lawmakers. Top administration officials held several briefings about the issue Tuesday on Capitol Hill. But if they don’t agree to share more with state and local politicians, the opposition to accepting Syrian refugees could quickly gain ground.

'420 potentially dangerous Islamists live in Germany'

Berlin, Nov 17 (IANS/EFE) Around 43,000 people are part of Islamist circles in Germany and around 420 are considered potentially dangerous, the president of the German Federal Criminal Police Office (or BKA) has said.

In an interview with Die Welt newspaper after the attacks in Paris, Holger Munch recalled that Islamist terrorism attacks European values, with Germany also in its sight.

As he noted, the coordinated work of the security forces has prevented 11 attacks in the country, but Paris has shown that the risk of international terrorism is "high" and that Germany may also be affected.

The jihadists, he explained, are younger than they were a few years ago and radicalized much faster; sometimes they spend a few months or a few weeks until a person decides to travel to Syria.

Many have criminal records behind them and often, before travelling abroad to join the jihadists, come into contact with Salafist groups in Germany.

According to data from the BKA, more than 750 Islamists have left Germany bound for Iraq and Syria and there is information about 70 people who have returned after receiving military training or combat experience.

Breaking: FBI On High Alert After Assault Rifles Stolen From U.S. Army Armory In Worcester, MA

BOSTON — The U.S. Army Reserve armory in Worcester, Massachusetts was broken into Saturday night and more than a dozen guns were stolen, a law enforcement source tells The Daily Beast.

Six M4 assault rifles, ten pistols, and several long guns were taken from the armory, according to the source. The break-in was discovered this morning. The armory’s alarms did not go off, according to the source who added they may have been disabled due to ongoing construction.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the break-in.

“Nothing at this point in time would tie this to any specific threat or anything else at this point,” Hank Shaw, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston division said at a press conference on Sunday.

There are no suspects at this time.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu linked the brutal terror attack in Paris Friday with another in the West Bank, saying Islamic extremism is responsible for both.

It was the second day in a row Netanyahu connected the Paris attack with the lesser known killing — in which two Israelis were murdered at the hands of Palestinian gunman in the West Bank. The prime minister called for the world to "wake up and unite" to combat and defeat the wave of terror.

"In Israel, as in France, terrorism is terrorism and standing behind it is radical Islam and its desire to destroy its victims," Netanyahu said prior to his weekly cabinet meeting Sunday.

"The time has come for the world to wake up and unite in order to defeat terrorism. The time has come for countries to condemn terrorism against us to the same degree that they condemn terrorism everywhere else in the world," he said.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton refused to use the term “radical Islam” at Saturday’s Democratic debate, just one day after the deadly terror attacks in Paris.

“Marco Rubio, also running for president, said this attack showed that we are at war with radical Islam. Do you agree with that characterization, radical Islam?” the CBS News moderator asked.

“I don’t think we are at war with Islam,” Clinton replied. “I don’t think we are at war with all Muslims. I think we are at war with jihadists.”

The moderator interjected, “Just to interrupt. He didn’t say all Muslims. He just said radical Islam. Is that a phrase you don’t?”

“I think you can talk about Islamists who clearly are also jihadists, but I also think it’s not particularly helpful — to make the case that Senator Sanders was just making that I agree with we have to reach out to Muslim countries, we have to have them part of our coalition — if they hear people running for president who basically short cut it to say to say we are somehow against Islam,” Clinton said. “That was one of the real contributions, despite all the other problems, that George W. Bush made after 9/11.”

Ohio Man Arrested On Terrorism Charges, Accused Of Soliciting Killing Of U.S. Military For ISIS

AKRON, Ohio — The FBI arrested an Akron man on a terrorism-related charge Thursday, accusing him of soliciting the killing of members of the military in the name of an Islamic extremist group.

Terrence McNeil, 25, is charged with one count of solicitation of a crime of violence. He appeared Thursday in federal court, shackled and dressed in a white T-shirt and blue gym shorts.

Magistrate Judge Kathleen Burke signed the warrant for McNeil’s arrest on Wednesday. The FBI arrested McNeil the following morning at his apartment on Eastgay Drive.

In a criminal complaint, agents say McNeil has expressed his support for the Islamic State, a terrorist group also known as ISIS or ISIL. In supporting ISIS, McNeil posted a file online that contained the names and addresses of people believed to be the members of the military, the complaint states. Included in the file is a message encouraging people to kill those people.

San Diego State University axes homecoming ‘king’ and ‘queen,’ replaces it with gender-neutral ‘royals’

San Diego State University has axed its longtime tradition of naming a homecoming “king” and “queen,” and this year will go with the gender-neutral term “royals,” the Daily Aztec campus newspaper reports.

As recently as last year SDSU named a homecoming “king” and “queen” during its annual football game, according to the university’s website. But this Saturday when the Aztecs take on the University of Wyoming Cowboys, the Royal Court will end up with the “final two Royals,” the website adds. It’s unclear if those final two “royals” will be one male and one female, or some other iteration of the LGBTQAAII spectrum.

“During the application process, candidates were allowed to select gender-neutral pronouns to identify themselves,” the Daily Aztec campus newspaper reports. “These gender-inclusive pronouns aim to dispel the common gender binary of categorizing people as solely masculine or feminine.”

Not all students are happy with the changes.

Man Who Ran Over Cop In Texas Sanctuary City Is A Three Times Deported Illegal Alien

The man who used a vehicle to run over a Dallas, Texas, police officer is an illegal alien who has been deported three times over the past 11 years.

Eduardo Gonzalez-Rios, 29, is in the Dallas County jail after being treated for his gunshot wound, the Dallas Morning News (DMN) reported. He is currently being held on three counts of aggravated assault on a public servant and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials placed a detainer on him.

Dallas Police Corporal Ed Lujan was working an off-duty job and was in uniform at the time of the incident. After Gonzalez-Rios was escorted out of a night club where Lujan was working, officers escorted him to his vehicle. Gonzalez-Rios then allegedly backed his SUV into one officer. He then drove forward, jumping a curb, and completely ran over Corporal Lujan. Witnesses reported that Gonzalez-Rios then backed over Lujan again before other officers fired their weapons at Gonzalez-Rios, striking him in the arm.

Lujan is in an area hospital where he is recovering from the multiple injuries sustained in this incident. He is suffering from a broken sternum, nose, ribs, tibia and ankle, along with a fractured vertebra and skull, officials of the Greater Dallas National Latino Law Enforcement Organization told the DMN.

Big Hillary Clinton Backer in Ohio Dumps Her for Bernie Sanders

Former Ohio state senator Nina Turner, a leader on voting rights, has been one of Clinton’s key allies in Ohio as a member of Hillary’s super PAC. Turner joined Hillary supporters at a big Clinton rally in Cleveland and was part of another such rally in New York last fall.

Her support leant legitimacy to Clinton who has need of support from prominent African-Americans.

Turner was also a member of Correct the Record, the Clinton super PAC founded by Democratic activist David Brock, a longtime Clinton flack who started the left-wing Internet propaganda site Media Matters for America.

In fact, Brock has been disseminating anti-Sanders opposition research to damage Sanders as much as possible ever since he announced that his newest goal was to get Hillary elected president in 2016.

Turner is not currently an officeholder, having lost her recent campaign to become the Buckeye State’s Secretary of State—a campaign that Bill Clinton supported.

But now, Turner told The Plain Dealer that she is joining the Sanders campaign because she agrees with his position on voting rights and his stance on the minimum wage.

“I’m very attracted by his message and his style—and that he has held pretty much strong on his beliefs and the world is catching up with him,” Turner told the paper.

Turner will introduce Sanders at a rally at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center next Monday.

“We are extremely, extremely humbled by the support of Sen. Nina Turner,” a Sanders spokesman said. “She is nationally known as a voice for voting rights, for workers’ rights and for marginalized people. The support of someone with that record of standing up for middle-income and working people is tremendously important.”

Despite her many connections to Hillary’s 2016 campaign, Turner insists that she never officially endorsed the former secretary of state.

Turner also noted that a Hillary supporter has already attacked her for jumping to team Sanders.

“I was approached by a Clinton supporter who said that I am doing a disservice to the country,” Turner told the paper. “It was very insulting.”

The former Ohio Democrat Party Chair announced that she is stepping down from the current groups she is working with in order to stump for the senator.

Hillary Clinton Refuses To Declare War On ISIS

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has said that she is against declaring war on the Islamic State terror group, arguing that it would be too much of a strain on the U.S. budget.

“If you have a declaration of war, you’d better have a budget that backs it up,” Clinton said during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, according to Reuters.

“I do think that we have to do a better job of understanding the threat that is posed by radical Islamic jihadist groups,” she added.

The U.S. and a broad team of international allies have been launching airstrike operations against IS, which has captured several cities across Iraq and Syria.

President Obama, however, has yet to sign a formal declaration of war, preferring to stick to coordinated missions aimed at slowing the advance of the Islamic militants who are trying to establish their Caliphate on the captured territory.

In conflicts around the world, their sacrifice and resolve helped destroy the enemies of freedom and saved millions from oppression. In answering history's call with honor, decency, and resolve, our veterans have shown the power of liberty and earned the respect and admiration of a grateful Nation.

All of America's veterans have placed our Nation's security before their own lives, creating a debt that we can never fully repay. Our veterans represent the best of America, and they deserve the best America can give them.

As we recall the service of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen, we are reminded that the defense of freedom comes with great loss and sacrifice. This Veterans Day, we give thanks to those who have served freedom's cause; we salute the members of our Armed Forces who are confronting our adversaries abroad; and we honor the men and women who left America's shores but did not live to be thanked as veterans. They will always be remembered by our country.

To the corpsmen, the doctors and nurses so very brave to do what they do.

Veterans Upset Over CAIR Involvement In Upcoming Veteran’s Day Parade

As backlash grows against a Muslim group participating in Tulsa’s Veterans Day Parade this year, several veterans held an anti-CAIR rally Sunday to protest the group’s involvement.

The outrage among many veterans has continued to grow after the Council for Islamic-American Relations, or CAIR, was approved for a float in the Veterans Day parade.

Many say this isn’t about Islam as a religion – they believe this group has terrorist ties.

Rex Morgan is a former helicopter mechanic for the U.S. Marines.

“I got a son who’s in right now. So it runs in the family,” he said.

A family history of patriotism is what he says brought him to rally Sunday to stand up against CAIR, a group he calls the enemy.

Obamacare Leaves Hundreds Of Cancer Patients Without Insurance

Some 250 patients receiving treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center are facing a crisis because they signed up with the only ObamaCare insurer in New York that provides coverage at the world-renowned hospital — and the insurer is going bust.

Now the patients either have to find new insurers and doctors or pay higher out-of-pocket costs for extended care at Sloan.

State regulators are removing Health Republic Insurance of New York from the ObamaCare exchange as of Nov. 30 because the company is gushing red ink — losing more than $130 million in 18 months.

The state Department of Financial Services is advising customers to shop for new policies by Nov. 15, to ensure coverage for the rest of this year as well as next.

Under state law, patients are guaranteed 60 days of “continuity of coverage” at the facility where they are being treated.

Sloan Kettering said it is urging the state to extend that to one year.

But no other ObamaCare insurer has been able to reach a deal with Sloan Kettering, leaving the Health Republic patients in the lurch.

US Military Is Now Less Ready to Defend Our National Interests Than It Has Been for Decades

The world’s an even scarier place than it was last year. From the Middle East to the South China Sea, the bad guys have grown stronger and bolder. Meanwhile, our allies and friends—suffering from economies much weaker than ours—are spending less and less on defense.

This means less help available to us, if things go from bad to worse. And U.S. troops will be even more hard-pressed to prevail, since our own military spending has been slashed 15 percent over the last four years. As trend lines go, these are deeply worrisome.

The world changes, whether we want it to or not. Last year, the Islamic State was just “a JV team” in the eyes of President Barack Obama. Today, the brutal Islamist group controls a third of the territory in two countries and commands a mobile light infantry army.

The Obama administration’s persistently weak responses to provocation have only encouraged more aggressive behavior by our adversaries. And it’s led our friends to become increasingly dubious about whether America will truly come to their aid should a crisis come.

They’ve seen the U.S. withdraw prematurely from trouble spots. They’ve seen Washington cut troop and military spending year after year. And they know that our Western allies, still caught in the economic doldrums, are less able to provide the kind of force and facilities America has long relied on for support.

Friends who have counted on America to have their backs are now looking over their shoulders and seeing no one there. As a result, Japan is considering developing an independent nuclear capability. The Sunni Gulf States are weighing what sort of weapons capabilities they should obtain to counter Iran’s new strength. The Baltic States are bracing for an invasion; their military leaders say it feels like 1938 again in their capital cities.

Amid all this growing instability, readiness levels across all U.S. military services are falling. There is too little money to train properly; ranges sit idle for lack of bullets, fighter jets are parked for lack of fuel, and America has no aircraft carrier battle group in the Middle East, because we cannot get one fitted for duty. Modernization has been put on hold or drastically curtailed; basic repair of worn out equipment is the best our troops can hope for.

Beyond the budgetary difficulties, the military has suffered a series of morale-sapping slaps from the administration. Having the Justice Department investigate a bombing target incident in Afghanistan suggests that the administration mistrusts the Pentagon’s professional ethos and integrity.

What is the bottom line? At a time of growing threats, when the help available from others is shrinking, the American military is now less ready to defend our national interests than it has been for decades. What is happening is extremely dangerous. We must halt—and reverse—the deterioration of U.S. armed forces.

“It is not a laudatory book,” Will said about O’Reilly’s Killing Reagan. “It is doing the work of the left which knows in order to discredit conservatism it must destroy Reagan’s reputation as president. Your book does the work of the American left with its extreme recklessness.”

“You’re a hack,” O’Reilly said to Will. “You are in with the cabal of the Reagan loyalists who don’t want the truth to be told.”

Bill O’Reilly slanders Ronald Reagan

Donald Trump is just one symptom of today’s cultural pathology of self-validating vehemence with blustery certitudes substituting for evidence. Another is the fact that the book atop the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list is a tissue of unsubstantiated assertions. Because of its vast readership, “Killing Reagan: The Violent Assault That Changed a Presidency” by Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly and his collaborator, Martin Dugard, will distort public understanding of Ronald Reagan’s presidency more than hostile but conscientious scholars could.

Styling himself an “investigative historian,” O’Reilly purports to have discovered amazing facts that have escaped the notice of real historians. The book’s intimated hypothesis is that the trauma of the March 1981 assassination attempt somehow triggered in Reagan a mental decline, perhaps accelerating the Alzheimer’s disease that would not be diagnosed until 13 years later. The book says Reagan was often addled to the point of incompetence, causing senior advisers to contemplate using the Constitution’s 25th Amendment to remove him from office. Well.

Reagan was shot on the 70th day of his presidency. In the next 2,853 days, he produced an economic boom and the Cold War’s endgame. Among O’Reilly’s “explanations” for Reagan’s supposed combination of creativity and befuddlement are: He was brave; “on his bad days, he couldn’t work” but on good days “he was brilliant”; Nancy Reagan was in charge; it was “almost miraculous.”

When Reagan’s unsatisfactory Chief of Staff Don Regan was replaced by Howard Baker, a Baker aide wrote a memo that included slanderous assessments of the president from some disgruntled Regan staffers. This memo, later regretted by its author, became, O’Reilly says, the “centerpiece” of his book. On this flimsy reed he leans the fiction (refuted by minute-by-minute records in the Reagan Library) that, in O’Reilly’s words, “a lot of days” Reagan never left the White House’s second floor, where he watched “soap operas all day long.”

The book’s pretense of scholarship involves 151 footnotes, only one of which is even remotely pertinent to the book’s lurid assertions. Almost all contain irrelevant tidbits (“Reagan’s hair was actually brown”). At the Reagan Library, where researchers must register, records show that neither O’Reilly nor Dugard, who churn out a book a year, used its resources. The book’s two and a half pages of “sources” unspecifically and implausibly refer to “FBI and CIA files,” “presidential libraries” and travel “around the world.” They also cite Kitty Kelley’s scabrous 1991 Nancy Reagan “biography,” a sewer of rumors and innuendos that probably is the source of the sexual factoids O’Reilly and Dugard recycle.

Ed Meese was, from Sacramento to Washington, Reagan’s longest-serving adviser. George Shultz was Reagan’s confidant and secretary of state. James Baker served Reagan as chief of staff and treasury secretary. None was contacted in connection with the book. Scores of Reagan’s White House aides would have shredded the book’s preposterous premise, which might be why they were not interviewed.

For example, Mari Maseng worked with Reagan at the beginning and the end of his presidency. She worked with him as a speechwriter from 1981 to 1983. (As author of the speech he delivered at the Washington Hilton, she was walking ahead of him when the would-be assassin fired.) She returned to the White House in 1986 as director of public liaison. In 1988, as communications director, she worked down the hall from the Oval Office, having constant interactions with him. She saw no diminution of his physical energy or mental acuity.

Dugard sought research advice from former representative Christopher Cox (R-Calif.), who served in Reagan’s White House counsel’s office. Cox put Dugard in touch with former California governor Pete Wilson and several Reagan historians. Wilson and Cox warned that historians’ criticisms could hurt the book’s reception. Then O’Reilly charged on Fox News that Wilson and Cox somehow threatened him, adding gratuitously and falsely that Cox, as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, “presided over the mortgage debacle that collapsed the economy in 2007,” an explanation of the autumn 2008 collapse that is simply weird.

Cox put the book’s publisher in touch with Annelise Anderson, who, with her late husband, Marty, a longtime Reagan adviser, has authored and edited serious books about Reagan. She was offered $5,000 and given just one week to evaluate the manuscript. Having read it, she declined compensation, saying mildly, “I don’t think this manuscript is ready for publication.”

The book’s perfunctory pieties about Reagan’s greatness are inundated by its flood of regurgitated slanders about his supposed lassitude and manipulability. This book is nonsensical history and execrable citizenship, and should come with a warning: “Caution — you are about to enter a no-facts zone.”

Iran’s Military Has Increased Cyber Attacks On Obama Regime Officials

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps has in recent weeks launched increased cyber attacks on Obama administration officials, hacking into their email and social media accounts. U.S. officials believe that the hacks are related to the recent arrest of an Iranian-American businessman in Tehran.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, has routinely conducted cyberwarfare against American government agencies for years. But the U.S. officials said there has been a surge in such attacks coinciding with the arrest last month of Siamak Namazi, an energy industry executive and business consultant who has pushed for stronger U.S.-Iranian economic and diplomatic ties. Obama administration personnel are among a larger group of people who have had their computer systems hacked in recent weeks, including journalists and academics, the officials said. Those attacked in the administration included officials working at the State Department’s Office of Iranian Affairs and its Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.

The New Trailer For The Benghazi Movie, ’13 Hours’

A second trailer for Michael Bay’s action thriller—or possibly documentary—about the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya was released Tuesday.

The trailer for 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi features new action sequences and clues about the plot.

“When everything went wrong, six men had the courage to do what was right,” reads the trailer’s accompanying text.

The film is adapted from the book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff, which documents the heroism of six American security operators as they tried to fend off a deadly attack by an al-Qaeda offshoot.

Bay’s take on Benghazi has drawn the ire of liberal writers, many of whom already hold the “the auteur of awesome” in contempt for his populist work product.

$100 tax on every gun: Congresswoman introducing anti-violence bill

A new bill would tax gun owners at a rate of $100 per firearm with proceeds going towards anti-violence and mental health programs.

Rep. Nydia Velazquez, D-NY., said the measure would reduce the number of guns in circulation and providing needed funding for programs aimed at reducing violence. The legislation will be introduced in the U.S. House this week.

"Gun violence is a plague on our city that shatters lives and tears families apart," Velázquez said. "This bill will take meaningful steps to address the issue, reducing the flow of guns on the street, empowering law enforcement to better track missing weapons, while investing in community anti-violence programs."

Velazquez's proposal would assess a $100 federal tax on the sale of all new firearms. Revenue generated from the tax would go to the Department of Justice for safety and mental health improvement grants.

"If making guns more expensive means fewer end up in commerce, I'm happy with that result," Velázquez said. "However, if guns are going to be sold, then those purchasing and selling them should pay for programs that can reduce the incidence of gun violence in our local communities."

The "Reducing Gun Violence in Our Neighborhoods Act" would also strengthen the reporting requirements related to lost or stolen guns and establish a national database of missing weapons. It would also require all gun owners to report any stolen weapons within 48 hours or face a $10,000 penalty.

According to the National Rifle Association, Americans have acquired more than 170 million new firearms since 1991. The Congressional Research Service estimated the number of firearms in the U.S. at more than 310 million.

The measure has received the support of the Brooklyn and Queens District Attorneys, local gun control organizations and various community groups.

Velasquez's proposal is just the latest in a series of gun control measures introduced by Congressional Democrats. Earlier this summer, another New York Congresswoman, Rep. Carolyn Maloney, introduced a measure that would require gun owners to have liability insurance coverage before being allowed to purchase a weapon or face a fine of up to $10,000.

Volunteers Honor Wounded Vets with Purple Parking Spaces

People across the country are mobilizing to honor wounded veterans in a special new way.

Armed with purple paint and rollers, volunteers are increasingly going to work to help designate pre-arranged parking spaces for men and women who were injured in combat.

The program was introduced by the Wounded Warriors Family Support organization, which hands out free parking signs to any establishment that wants them.

Local stores, churches, schools and public facilities have asked to put up purple signs of their own, paving way for a trend now “stretching from coast to coast,” said the group on its website.

"There are an estimated 1.8 million Purple Heart recipients, combat wounded service members who have transitioned back into civilian life," the group says.

Volunteers have included everyone from eighth graders to other veterans paying their respects.

Congress Moving To Name The Muslim Brotherhood A Terrorist Group

Lawmakers in both houses of Congress filed legislation on Tuesday that would formally designate the Muslim Brotherhood a sanctioned terrorist organization, according to an advance copy of the legislation obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The legislation outlines the Brotherhood’s long history of sponsoring terrorism and outlines congressional support for it to be designated a global terrorist outfit. The bill also would force Secretary of State John Kerry to explain why the Obama administration has been hesitant to label the Brotherhood a terrorist group.

This time around, Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) is heading the legislation in the Senate, while Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R., Fla.) is handling the House version of the bill, sources said.

“We have to stop pretending that the Brotherhood are not responsible for the terrorism they advocate and finance,” Cruz told the Free Beacon. “We have to see it for what it is: a key international organization dedicated to waging violent jihad. Since the Obama administration refuses to utter the words'”radical Islamic terrorism,’ and Congress owes it to the American people to tell them the truth about this threat.”

The bill also helps combat the notion that Brotherhood is a peaceful political group, Cruz said.

“This bill puts the lie to the notion that the Muslim Brotherhood is a peaceful political organization that can be a legitimate partner for America,” the lawmaker said. “In 2008 the Justice Department successfully prosecuted the largest terrorism-financing trial in American history arguing that the Muslim Brotherhood directed U.S. affiliates such as the Holy Land Foundation to provide ‘media, money and men’ to Hamas. That support was used for terrorist attacks against Americans and our allies in the Middle East. When they are capable they will try to do the same thing here.”

The bill, which includes a lengthy history of the Brotherhood’s links to radical terrorist leaders and violent incidents, concludes that “the Muslim Brotherhood meets the criteria for designation as a foreign terrorist organization.”

It would require the State Department and other agencies to determine whether the Brotherhood officially meets the requirements to be designated under U.S. law as a terrorist organization.

However, “if the Secretary of State determines that the Muslim Brotherhood does not meet the criteria,” it must submit to Congress “a detailed justification as to which criteria have not been met,” according to the bill.

Obama EPA Chief Vows To Lead The Global Fight Against Air Conditioners

EPA Chief Gina McCarthy wants the world to stop using hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in air conditioners and other consumers products as part of President Barack Obama’s plan to fight global warming.

McCarthy is so determined to make this happen, she’s taking the lead role at an ongoing United Nations summit to expand the current global treaty covering ozone-depleting substances. The EPA chief hopes that her agency’s recent HFC regulations will convince other countries to join the U.S. in limiting the chemicals.

“Because of the importance of taking aggressive action on these chemicals to achieve global climate goals, I will be leading the United States delegation at that meeting,” McCarthy wrote in an oped for The Guardian.

“Over the past year, the US Environmental Protection Agency has completed four separate actions that both expand the list of safer alternatives to HFCs and prohibit them from certain uses in the refrigeration air conditioning, foam, and aerosol sectors where safer alternatives such as hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs), hydrocarbons and lower-polluting blends are available,” McCarthy wrote.

GOP: Obama circumventing Senate in Paris climate deal talks

Republican senators accused President Obama Tuesday of deliberately circumventing Congress in his attempt to reach a broad U.N. deal on climate change.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), chairman of a Foreign Relations Committee subpanel, said at a Tuesday hearing that any deal negotiators reach at the talks in Paris in December needs to go through Senate ratification.

“Just like the Kyoto Protocol and the United Nations framework convention on climate change, any agreement that commits our nation to targets or timetables must go through the process established by the founders in our Constitution. It must be submitted to the United States Senate for its advice and consent,” Barrasso told Todd Stern, the State Department’s top negotiator for the deal.

“The president has made clear that he doesn’t see it that way, as was the case with the Iranian nuclear deal,” he said.

Barrasso was the only Republican at the hearing, which was dominated by Democrats who thanked Stern for his work.

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), who wanted to have a joint hearing on the talks with the Environment and Public Works Committee, which he chairs, said in a statement that the deal should go through the Senate.

“While we can certainly disagree on the underlying policies, I believe we, as the Senate, should support basic oversight responsibilities, especially when they are consistent with past practice."

“President Obama and his administrative officials are going out of their way to circumvent the role of the U.S. Senate in this negotiating process and I am disappointed that the minority would enable such behavior,” he said.

Republicans have long accused Obama of working with international leaders to craft a deal that would not require Senate approval, as treaties generally do under the Constitution.

Stern said whether the deal would go through the Senate hinges largely on whether countries’ individual contributions are legally binding — a factor that has not yet been finalized in the negotiations.

“We don’t know yet what the elements of the agreement are going to be and so it’s hard to speculate at this time,” he said. “We’re pushing hard for an agreement that does not include binding targets.”

Inhofe had planned to have a joint hearing with the committees that would have included Stern and representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Council on Environmental Quality.

Those agencies declined to send representatives because they do not have primary authority over the talks, Inhofe’s office said, a decision that disappointed him.

Meanwhile, the panel’s Democrats were very happy with Stern’s efforts.

“The Paris agreement takes us in the right direction, signing up countries, developed and developing, to halt the climate crisis,” said Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.), the panel’s top Democrat. “The United States must lead and set an example for other countries. This is the right thing to do to protect our economy in the long term.”

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) accused Republicans of denying science in their opposition to the deal.

“They say they’re not scientists and I would agree with them,” she said. “They ought to be listening to the 97 percent of scientists who tell us human action and activities is causing too much carbon pollution.”

When President Obama signs into law the new two-year budget deal Monday, his action will bring into sharper focus a part of his legacy that he doesn’t like to talk about: He is the $20 trillion man.

Mr. Obama’s spending agreement with Congress will suspend the nation’s debt limit and allow the Treasury to borrow another $1.5 trillion or so by the end of his presidency in 2017. Added to the current total national debt of more than $18.15 trillion, the red ink will likely be crowding the $20 trillion mark right around the time Mr. Obama leaves the White House.

When Mr. Obama took over in January 2009, the total national debt stood at $10.6 trillion. That means the debt will have very nearly doubled during his eight years in office, and there is much more debt ahead with the abandonment of “sequestration” spending caps enacted in 2011.

“Congress and the president have just agreed to undo one of the only successful fiscal restraint mechanisms in a generation,” said Pete Sepp, president of the National Taxpayers Union. “The progress on reducing spending and the deficit has just become much more problematic.”

Some budget analysts scoff at the claim made by the administration and by House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican, that the budget agreement’s $112 billion in spending increases is fully funded by cuts elsewhere. Mr. Boehner left Congress last week.

“The Boehner-Obama spending agreement would allow for unlimited borrowing by the Treasury until March 2017,” said Paul Winfree, director of economic policy studies at The Heritage Foundation. “This deal piles on billions of dollars to the national debt by increasing spending over the next three years and then not paying for it for a decade — with half of the offsets not occurring until 2025.”

Hillary Clinton Was Warned Not to Blame Benghazi on Youtube Video

The House Benghazi Committee released a new email Saturday that a Tripoli embassy official sent to Clinton’s underlings in Washington, D.C., on September 14, 2012, two days before Susan Rice appeared on Sunday talk shows to use the administration’s “video” talking point.

“Colleagues, I mentioned to [redacted] this morning, and want to share with all of you, our view at Embassy Tripoli that we must be cautious in our local messaging with regard to the inflammatory film trailer, adapting it to Libyan conditions,” the official wrote.

The official added:

Our monitoring of the Libyan media and conversations with Libyans suggest that the films [sic] not as explosive of an issue here as it appears to be in other countries in the region. The overwhelming majority of the FB comments and tweets we’ve received from Libyans since the Ambassador’s death have expressed deep sympathy, sorrow, and regret. They have expressed anger at the attackers, and emphasized that this attack does not represent Libyans or Islam. Relatively few have even mentioned the inflammatory video. So if we post messaging about the video specifically, we may draw unwanted attention to it.

“And it is becoming increasingly clear that the series of events in Benghazi was much more terrorist attack than a protest which escalated into violence,” the official continued. “It is our opinion that in our messaging, we want to distinguish, not conflate, the events in other countries with this well-planned attack by militant extremists. I have discussed this with [redacted] and he shares PAS’s view.”

According to a statement by Matt Wolking, press secretary of the House Select Committee on Benghazi:

This email shows that State Department staff privately raised serious concerns about conflating the terrorist attacks in Benghazi with a video on the Internet, even as the Secretary of State and other Obama administration officials continued to do so publicly.
