Obama's Department of Veterans Affairs At Fault! VA in Houston Bans Word's Lilke "God", "God Bless You", At Funerals!

The VA in Houston has banned using offensive words like “God,” “God bless you” and “God bless” at the Houston National Cemetery.
Local veterans and volunteer groups accuse Department of Veterans Affairs officials of censoring religious speech — including the word “God” – at Houston National Cemetery.
In one example cited in documents filed this week in federal court, cemetery director Arleen Ocasio reportedly told volunteers with the National Memorial Ladies that they had to stop telling families “God bless you” at funerals and that they had to remove the words “God bless” from condolence cards.
“It’s just unfair that somebody would ask us to take God out of our vocabulary,” said Cheryl Whitfield, founder of Houston National Memorial Ladies.
“I could’ve kept my mouth shut and let things happen, but when it comes to standing up for your belief in God and giving comfort to the families, I don’t want to regret not saying anything,” Whitfield said. “We all had to stand up for what we believe in.”
The new allegations of “religious hostility” by VA and cemetery officials follow on the heels of a controversy over Pastor Scott Rainey’s prayer in Jesus’ name at a Memorial Day service in the cemetery.
U.S. District Judge Lynn Hughes ruled May 26 that the government couldn't stop Rainey from using the words "Jesus Christ" in his invocation. Hughes issued a temporary restraining order to prevent VA from censoring Rainey's prayer.
Discrimination alleged
Attorneys with the nonprofit Liberty Institute, which represented Rainey, filed an amended complaint this week after allegedly finding other instances of religious discrimination by cemetery officials against members of The American Legion Post 586, Veterans of Foreign Wars District 4 and the National Memorial Ladies, a volunteer group that attends funerals of fallen service members.
The complaint accuses VA of "a widespread and consistent practice of discriminating against private religious speech" at the cemetery.
Ocasio is on vacation and could not be reached for comment. Her assistant, Amanda Rhodes-Wharton, said she could not discuss the matter due to ongoing litigation.
According to court documents, Ocasio banned veterans organizations and volunteer groups from using certain religious words such as "God" or "Jesus," censored the content of prayer and forbade the use of religious messages in burial rituals unless the deceased's family submitted the text for prior approval.
The documents allege that VA prohibited volunteer honor guards from providing optional recitations to families for consideration, and that when burial teams conduct military honors for a veteran's funeral, a government official monitors what is said.
Chapel a 'meeting facility'
Court documents also describe the closure of the cemetery's chapel after Ocasio's appointment as director two years ago.
"The doors remain locked during Houston National Cemetery operating hours, the cross and the Bible have been removed, and the Chapel bells, which tolled at least twice a day, are now inoperative," the complaint reads. "Director Ocasio only unlocks the chapel doors when meetings or training sessions are held at the building. Furthermore, it is no longer called a 'chapel' but a 'meeting facility.' "
VA spokeswoman Jessica Jacobsen confirmed the chapel is closed but she said it has nothing to do with the litigation. "It was closed prior to Memorial Day, and it was closed because of construction," she said.
The chapel is scheduled to reopen in September when construction is complete, she said.
Jeff Mateer, general counsel for Liberty Institute, doesn't buy that explanation. The chapel's closure predates any construction, he said.
Judge grills VA's attorney
A standing-room only crowd jammed a federal courtroom in downtown Houston on Tuesday afternoon for a status conference on the case. White-haired vets lined the pews, decked out in honor guard uniforms or blue blazers decorated with American flag lapel pins. Crammed next to them were people wearing T-shirts emblazoned with eagles and Old Glory, and women costumed in the trademark black vests and white blouses of the Memorial Ladies.
Judge Hughes denied the government's motion to dismiss the case, but not before upbraiding VA's attorney, Fred Hinrichs, for being unable to answer his questions.
When Hughes asked whether the chapel was open, Hinrichs said he didn't know.
"Why not?" the judge shot back. "A phone call to the cemetery could ascertain if that is true or not."
"Yes, your honor," the attorney said.
"So the VA has been investigating for a month and hasn't come to any conclusions?" the judge pressed.
Hinrichs said some of the claims in the complaint aren't factually correct, but he wasn't prepared to give specifics.
"I don't know that they're true," the judge said, "but an afternoon on Veterans Memorial Drive and you should be able to document most of this stuff."
He gave the government until July 21 to investigate and respond to the claims in the complaint.
Veteran feels belittled
After the hearing, Vietnam veteran Nobleton Jones spoke up at a Liberty Institute press conference.
Jones said he has presented shell casings from the gun salute to veterans' grieving family members at funerals in Houston National Cemetery for the past three years.
But after a burial ceremony May 16, Jones said a government official told him he could no longer recite the words he always says when he hands over the shells: "We ask that God grant you and your family grace, mercy and peace."
The 66-year-old Houstonian said he felt belittled.
"That makes me feel smaller, even after I spent my time in the military, fighting so that people should be able to say that," he said.
"I did all this for my country and you are going to tell me what I can and can't say?"

Gay, Lesbian, bisexual, Transgender and allies that have been working in their neighborhoods, towns and states to bring about equality.
Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.
LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society.

Here’s a hint, it came about because brave white men wrote and signed a document entitled the “Declaration of Independence.” Following that action and in keeping with the last sentence of the last paragraph which states: “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor,” there ensued the War of Independence that culminated after great hardship and sacrifice in the founding of the United States of America.
Since those days this country has grown as one never before in history. More wealth has been created, there is a higher standard of living albeit now in decline, than by any other single nation in all of written history combined. Sadly, now there are those who would destroy it. Such an one is Barack Hussein Obama who oft stated, “We will totally change America,” “We will totally change the economic system.” Obama would probably be happy with your representation of Independence Day as July 4th given his predisposition to eschew any symbols of patriotism until forced to wear a flag pin on his lapel.
Before we part, remember that this once greatest nation on earth is being rapidly destroyed by Obama’s and Democrat lawmakers’ policies and your ignorance. Having devoted 30 years of my life to the preservation of freedom on these shores, I urge you to learn the history of this nation and revel in the liberty you now enjoy because it is fast fading. Not because there is any lack of dedication to preserve freedom among those who wear the uniform, but there is an abysmal lack of knowledge of history, patriotism and appreciation of that freedom so hard won then, and maintained at great personal sacrifice for over 200 years!
Enjoy your freedom and Independence Day 2011, it could well be one of your last, unless you wake up.

In a blunt challenge to Republicans in Congress, President Barack Obama insisted Wednesday that eliminating selected tax breaks for oil companies and the super-wealthy must be part of any deficit reduction plan.
"That's not radical," he said at a White House news conference. He was quick to add that a bipartisan agreement is possible to cut deficits, raise the government's debt limit and avert a threatened financial crisis.

Question: Thank you. Your administration has laid out four different dates by which you’ve said that the debt ceiling must be raised or the U.S. would face potential dire consequences. Three of those dates have come and gone and we haven’t faced financial calamity. Some of your critics have argued that these are then scare tactics to force a deal. So why should the American people believe that the August 2nd deadline is the final deadline by which a deal must be raised? And would you also spell out for us what you believe will happen if the debt ceiling is not raised by that date?

Obama hammers Congress: Do your job
Obama offered some harsh words of members of Congress at his news conference Wednesday, saying, “At a certain point, they need to do their job.”
Mr. Obama made the comments in reference to attempts to reach a deal to raise the debt ceiling, which the Obama administration says will be exceeded on August 2. Appearing exasperated, Mr. Obama negatively compared members to his daughters, 13-year-old Malia and 10-year-old Sasha, who he said “generally finish their homework a day ahead of time.”
“They don’t wait until the night before. They’re not pulling all nighters,” he said. “…You know, Congress can do the same thing.”
He went on to complain about Congressional Republicans’ calls for him to get more involved in the negotiations, saying that he “met with every single caucus for an hour to an hour and a half each” and “met with the leaders multiple times.”
“They need to do their job,” he said. “Now’s the time to go ahead and make the tough choices. That’s why they’re called leaders.”
He also called for members to “start having to cancel things and stay here” in Washington if there isn’t “substantial progress” by the end of the week.
Mr. Obama then took aim at members for their frequent recesses, saying “they’re in [session] one week, they’re out one week.”
“You need to be here,” he said, directing his comments at members. “I’ve been here.”
“I’ve been doing Afghanistan and bin Laden and the Greek crisis and” - he paused amid laughter from the press corps – “you stay here. Let’s get it done.”
“All right,” he concluded. “I think you know my feelings about that.”
In a statement after the press conference, House Speaker John Boehner said, "The President is sorely mistaken if he believes a bill to raise the debt ceiling and raise taxes would pass the House."
"The votes simply aren't there - and they aren't going to be there, because the American people know tax hikes destroy jobs," he added. "They also know Washington has been on a spending binge for many years, and they will only tolerate a debt limit increase if we stop it."
Earlier, Mr. Obama said the Republican position that they will not accept any tax increases as part of a deal to increase the debt limit is not "sustainable," adding, "everybody else has been willing to move off their maximalist position; they need to do the same."

Clinton tried this and it did not work.Clinton had raised taxes on the rich and their luxury cars, on boats and etc. and it hurt the blue collar workers so they had to reverse it.

Despite the fact that the administration's economic policies have failed to pull our economy out of its deep slump, Democrats and the president are pushing for more of the same. They want to run up our deficit, raise taxes on job creators, and cripple small businesses with burdensome regulations.

ABC's George Stephanopoulos Warns Bachmann: Media Will Investigate Your 23 Foster Children
ABC News' George Stephanopoulos said the media plans on investigating all 23 of Michele Bachmann's foster children, tries to get her to say she'd eliminate the minimum wage, tries to stir up trouble between her and Palin, and debates her about the founding fathers and slavery.
Stephanopoulos: Finally one—one final question. I think one of the most impressive things that people find in your background is the fact that you and your husband have helped raise 23 foster children and I know you want to shield them but are they prepared and are you prepared for the loss of privacy that comes with the president campaign? And is that something you are concerned about for them?
Bachmann: Well when we were making this momentous decision we sat down for a long time as a family and contemplated what this was meaning and yes, we are ready. We have five wonderful biological children. Our last one is off to college our oldest one is a doctor. And then we had great – a great 23 foster children in our home as well. And as you can imagine and appreciate we’ve tried to keep a good handle on their privacy and we will do that, we will respect their privacy. We are thankful that we had them but we also want to observe their privacy and that of their families.

He was part of the Clinton attack machine during Clinton’s campaign and later in the White House. Stephanopoulus was Clinton's point man on the politics of personal destruction. It was George who came up with—along with James Carville—the famous “Nuts and Sluts” defense.
Stephanopoulus knows exactly how to take out a person through inuendo, smears, half-truths and lies. It's what he did for Clinton. It was his JOB.
The Palinization of Bachmann is under way. And, whatever they can’t find, they’re create.
He better be careful, there is always that past information about his being a heavy pot user and how his crap would even be in his office at the WH. It was written about in Gary Aldrich book " Unlimited Access". about the Clinton years.
Obama has a history wrapped in mystery, hidden and ignored by the MSM while a decent, honorable woman, a U.S. Representative running for her party's presidential nomination, is going to have the life of every child she lovingly helped raise in a foster care program scrutinized and, God forbid, should anything as small as a parking ticket be found on their record, they will be humiliated and held up to the public as 'proof' that Bachmann is somehow 'unfit'. That person will be subject to national public embarrassment. Why? Because his or her foster mother is a conservative Republican running for the GOP presidential nomination and actually has a shot at winning. Frankly, I wish Michele Bachmann had shown more anger at the idea of the media attempting to scrutinize her foster children on the bogus premise that as the (foster) children of a public figure running for high office, they are now 'fair game'.
What a wonderful job the media is doing as a safeguard of American liberty. Don't investigate the relationship between a presidential candidate and a known domestic terrorist who was on the FBIs most wanted list, but do investigate the emails of one conservative female presidential candidate, and the foster children of another.
The candidates should stop pussy-footing around Obama's hidden past. If one of Bachmann's foster or biological children are dragged through the mud, they should go after Barack Obama and demand to know why the man who wants to be re-elected president of the United States has his college records sealed and demand, incessantly, they be revealed. I believe they'll indicate Obama was registered as a foreign student. I would also like to know who paid for his top-tier education. Certainly not his family. We may never see this information but we need to use the pursuit of it to let the MSM know that 'going after' the children of Republican politicians has to stop. Make the case that Obama has never, ever been subject to the slightest amount of scrutiny by the MSM while they gleefully attempt to 'investigate' private citizens that were once foster children under the care of a Republican presidential nominee contender. Make them answer the glaring question: why?

Obama Pushes For $600 Billion in New Taxes in Debt Talks
Barack Obama proposed $600 billion in new taxes to pay for his historic spending
President Barack Obama threw the talks on the debt ceiling crisis into turmoil on Monday afternoon by proposing a $600 billion tax hike before even meeting with Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell.
Just as Democrats and Republicans seemed to be inching toward an agreement that would stave off the prospect of a default on the nation’s debts, Obama introduced a measure that is sure to have the GOP howling in opposition.
The new wrench in the works drew scorn from conservatives.
“The Democrats’ insistence on touting their desire to ‘end tax breaks to oil and gas companies’ is becoming quite tiresome,” wrote Andrew Stiles at the National Review’s website. “It’s basically their only specific new tax proposal, but would amount to saving of just $21 billion over a decade. That’s a long way to $600 billion.”
Other conservatives ridiculed the idea that the White House could be taking such a proposal seriously.
“The White House has proposed raising about $600 billion in new tax revenue, including ending subsidies to oil and gas companies, an idea that failed in the Senate,” wrote Bryan Preston at the conservative PJ Tattler blog on Pajamas Media.
“It failed in a Democrat-controlled Senate, and with good reason: It’s a terrible idea. I was at first tempted to post a hoary old Admiral Ackbar – “It’s a trap!” graphic on this story, but it doesn’t really merit that,” Preston continued. “Calling it a trap at least implies that the GOP might fall for it. Honestly, I don’t see that happening. So if it’s not a trap, what is this? For one thing, it’s the Democrats’ answer to everything. For another, it’s class warfare, which is also the Democrats’ answer to everything.”
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney announced the tax proposals after Obama met Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Monday morning. He is due to meet McConnell later in the day in a bid to find “common ground.” It is the first time the president has personally gotten involved in the debt ceiling talks.
Carney said the president is still hopeful that the two sides can come to an agreement but said Republicans have to realize that some taxes must go up. "It's the only way to get it done," Carney said.
Among Obama’s proposals are an end to tax breaks for big companies and the richest and taxing equity and hedge fund managers on income tax rates rather than capital gains tax rates.
Other changes include changing depreciation rules on corporate jets, limiting itemized deductions for the wealthy and repealing a tax benefit that companies use for inventory accounting.
Earlier the Republicans were making it clear that such tax increases are the only point on which there can be no negotiation, so Obama’s move seems almost assured to stall the talks once more. McConnell said, "It is my hope that the president will take those off the table today so that we can have a serious discussion about our country's economic future."
The president has just five weeks to bring the two sides to an agreement that will allow the country to raise the $14.3 trillion ceiling before August 2 or risk defaulting on its debts. Last week, bipartisan talks led by Vice President Joe Biden fell apart when the GOP representatives walked out.

IDF: Some flotilla activists planning to kill soldiers
IDF sources claimed Monday night that new intelligence information obtained by Israel in recent days shows that participants of the flotilla planning to break Israel’s sea blockade over the Gaza Strip later this week plan to kill IDF soldiers who board their ships.
According to the information obtained by the IDF, some of the participants have prepared a number of sacks with sulfur, which they plan to pour on the soldiers as they board the vessels.
“This is a chemical weapon and if poured on a soldier it can paralyze him,” an IDF source told The Jerusalem Post Monday night. “If the sulfur is then lit on fire, the soldier will light up like a torch.”
The information was obtained from closed meetings held by participants on the ships during which some voiced their intention to “murder Israeli soldiers,” according to the IDF.
Also, despite earlier predictions that members of the Turkish organization IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation would not participate in the flotilla, it now appears that some members will sail with the ships alongside other radical Islamic activists.
The Navy has begun its final preparations to stop the vessels, and the IDF sources said that commandos who board the ships will be prepared for a wide-range of scenarios from no violence at all to extreme and violent resistance from the passengers.
A correspondent for the liberal magazine The Nation is reporting that CNN and CBS have sent camera crews to join the new Gaza flotilla preparing to set sail from Greece in order to break an Israeli navy blockade. The Transportation Security Administration stood by its security officers Sunday after a Florida woman complained that her cancer-stricken, 95-year-old mother was patted down and forced to remove her adult diaper while going through security.
The 95-year-old woman was flying to Michigan from Florida to be with family during final stages of her battle with leukemia. The daughter says her mother was stopped at a TSA checkpoint for 45 minutes. During the pat-down, TSA agents "felt something suspicious" inside the adult diaper and "could not complete the security check without the Depends off." The TSA released a statement Sunday defending its agents' actions at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.
"While every person and item must be screened before entering the secure boarding area, TSA works with passengers to resolve security alarms in a respectful and sensitive manner," the federal agency said. "We have reviewed the circumstances involving this screening and determined that our officers acted professionally and according to proper procedure."
Jean Weber told CNN's Fredricka Whitfield on Sunday that the security officers may have been procedurally correct, but she still does not believe they were justified, especially given her mother's frail condition.

CNN Investigation Reveals Congressional Staffers Received $6.1 Million In Bonuses
Despite all the talk of belt-tightening in Washington, CNN’s Lisa Desjardins dug through many Congressional expense reports and discovered up to $6.1 million was paid out in bonuses to Congressional staff members during the beginning of the year, at the height of talks about a potential government shutdown.
In the expense statements, bonuses are included within the broadly defined category of “other compensation.” After confirming with various offices, Desjardins reports the amount of bonuses handed out by Republicans in the time period was $908,000 and for Democrats it was $3.1 million in bonuses, while the remaining amount was awarded by Congressional committees. Some representatives are happy to defend the expenditure like Democratic Congressman Jim Clyburn who said in a statement:
“My staff worked extremely hard . . . including quite a few all-nighters and many weekends . . . and I rewarded them with an end-of-the-year bonus.”
Yet many others were less eager to justify it. Even though Congressional staffers do not earn a high salary to begin with, the idea of taxpayer money being used for discretionary bonuses is sure to rub many people the wrong way.

As New York enacted a law late Friday that legalizes same-sex marriage in the state, the Roman Catholic bishops of New York released a statement saying they now expect efforts to enact laws that go after churches that insist on teaching the "timeless truths" about marriage and family.
"We strongly uphold the Catholic Church's clear teaching that we always treat our homosexual brothers and sisters with respect, dignity and love," the bishops said.
"But we just as strongly affirm that marriage is the joining of one man and one woman in a lifelong, loving union that is open to children, ordered for the good of those children and the spouses themselves," the bishops said.
"This definition cannot change, though we realize that our beliefs about the nature of marriage will continue to be ridiculed, and that some will even now attempt to enact government sanctions against churches and religious organizations that preach these timeless truths."
The statement was signed by the bishops of all eight Roman Catholic diocese in the state of New York.
The New York State Senate passed the same-sex marriage bill late Friday and Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Catholic, signed the bill into law at 11:55 Friday night. The state assembly has passed the bill the week before. The law will go into effect in 30 days.
The law was enacted just in time for New York City's annual "gay pride" parade, which takes place on Sunday. The parade runs along Fifth Avenue, passing directly in front of Saint Patrick's Cathedral, the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of New York.
"The passage by the legislature of a bill to alter radically and forever humanity's historic understanding of marriage leaves us deeply disappointed and troubled," the New York bishops said in their statement.
"We worry that both marriage and the family will be undermined by this tragic presumption of government in passing this legislation that attempts to redefine these cornerstones of civilization," they said.
"Our society must regain what it appears to have lost--a true understanding of the meaning and the place of marriage, as revealed by God, grounded in nature, and respected by America's foundational principles," said the bishops.

Pelosi demands a seat at the table in final talks on the debt-ceiling
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will demand a seat in the table for the final talks on the national debt limit, putting a strong liberal voice in the room.
Pelosi and House Democrats were left out of the negotiations between President Obama and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) last year that extended nearly all of the Bush tax rates though 2012.
Pelosi didn’t participate in the final high-level talks over fiscal 2011 spending levels either.
But now she’s demanding her say at a time when many of her House Democratic colleagues are disappointed in Obama’s level of consultation with their caucus.
“If they don’t have the votes, House Democrats have to be at the table,” said a House Democratic leadership aide.
Pelosi stayed out of the talks on crafting a continuing resolution funding the rest of 2011 that included $38.5 billion in spending cuts because House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) expressed confidence they would pass it without Democratic help.
But, in the end of that debate, the Republican votes fell short, and GOP leaders needed help from House Democrats. Democrats went along with a deal they had almost no part in negotiating because they wanted to avert a government shutdown.
The experience left a bitter taste in their mouths, and Pelosi won’t let it happen again.
Although she is the minority leader in a chamber that gives the minority party few powers, Pelosi believes she has leverage in the debt-limit debate.
“We know that they do not have 218 votes for any package that increases the debt limit,” said the Democratic leadership aide of House Republican leaders.
Flexing her muscle, Pelosi asked for and got a meeting with Obama on Thursday morning to discuss the next phase in the negotiations.
Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), a leader of the Senate Tea Party caucus, warned of this on Friday when he told ABC News that Republicans who voted for a debt-limit increase without massive spending cuts and a balanced budget amendment would lose reelection.
“Based on what I can see around the country … not only are those individuals gone, but I would suspect the Republican Party would be set back many years,” DeMint said.
“It would be the most toxic vote,” he said.
The debt-limit talks that were led by Biden came to an end last week when Cantor pulled out and said it was time for Obama to get involved. Reps. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and James Clyburn (D-S.C.) represented House Democrats in those meetings.
Now the talks have moved to the very highest leadership levels with Obama planning to meet Reid and McConnell on Monday.
The president held a secret meeting with Boehner on Wednesday night.
Pelosi has made it clear that this time she intends be a part of that elite group as well.

During a passionate speech today on the House floor, Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) delivered some surprising remarks while pushing for the House to vote for a measure stripping funding from the war in Libya. According to him, Obama is starting to resemble an “absolute monarch.”
“We have been sliding for 70 years to a situation where Congress has nothing to do with the decision about whether to go to war or not, and the president is becoming an absolute monarch,” he said. “And we must put a stop to that right now, if we don’t want to become an empire instead of a republic.”
“I think that the nation’s credibility, that is to say its promise to go to war as backed by the president, not by the Congress, ought to be damaged,” he added.
“And if foreign countries learn that they cannot depend on American military intervention unless Congress is aboard for the ride, good. That’s a good thing.”

House Rebukes Obama on Libya, Stops Short of Funding Cutoff
The House on Friday delivered its strongest rebuke yet to President Obama over his handling of the U.S. military intervention in Libya, refusing to endorse the U.S. operation three months after it began. But the House stopped short of stripping funding for the mission.
In the last of two votes Friday afternoon, the House rejected a Republican-authored bill to strike funding for the Libya operation. The House voted 238-180 against it, with 89 Republicans opposing.
The vote ensured that, at least for the moment, the Obama administration has the money to sustain its involvement in the NATO-led campaign -- though the funding bill was unlikely to pass in the Senate anyway. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said afterward that the funding vote sends an important message about the need to continue the mission.
However, the vote came after the House, in a 295-123 decision, rejected a resolution to "authorize" the mission in Libya -- even a limited operation with no ground troops. One-hundred-and-fifteen Democrats and only eight Republicans voted for the proposal; in a blow to Obama, 70 Democrats voted against it. Though that resolution is non-binding, it represents the most definitive statement the chamber has made about the conflict.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said the administration was "disappointed" by that vote. "We think now is not the time to send the kind of mixed message that it sends," he said.
Taken together with proposals in the Senate, the House measures represent an accelerating move in Congress toward formally weighing in on Libya after months on the relative sidelines.
Ahead of the votes, lawmakers delivered impassioned arguments on the House floor, with Democrats and Republicans joining together on both sides of the debate.
"We have no business in Libya," declared Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, reprising an anti-war argument heard often during the height of the Iraq war. "We're there because we don't like Muammar Qaddafi. Well, there are a lot of bad guys in the world, and if we start picking them off one at a time, we will be at war with most of the world."
Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., had offered the funding bill, which would restrict funds for Libya save for search and rescue, intelligence, surveillance and a few other contingencies.
"The president has ignored the Constitution and the War Powers Resolution, but he cannot ignore a lack of funding," Rooney said in a statement.
Under the 1973 War Powers Resolution, the president was seemingly required to seek congressional authorization within two months or withdraw troops within three months. That deadline passed, but the Obama administration argued that it never needed authorization because the NATO-led mission in Libya did not constitute hostilities.
That argument angered many lawmakers. A New York Times report that said Obama overruled some of his legal advisers further incensed members of Congress.
"The war in Libya is illegal, unconstitutional and unwarranted. It must end," Ohio Democrat Rep. Dennis Kucinich, said.

Soros Guietly Helped Elect 11 Progressive Dems As Secretaries of State To Oversee The Election ~ Worried His Obama Won't Win!

A small tax-exempt political group with ties to wealthy liberals like billionaire financier George Soros has quietly helped elect 11 reform-minded progressive Democrats as secretaries of state to oversee the election process in battleground states and keep Republican “political operatives from deciding who can vote and how those votes are counted.”
Known as the Secretary of State Project (SOSP), the organization was formed by liberal activists in 2006 to put Democrats in charge of state election offices, where key decisions often are made in close races on which ballots are counted and which are not.
The group’s website said it wants to stop Republicans from “manipulating” election results.
“Any serious commitment to wresting control of the country from the Republican Party must include removing their political operatives from deciding who can vote and whose votes will count,” the group said on its website, accusing some Republican secretaries of state of making “partisan decisions.”
SOSP has sought donations by describing the contributions as a “modest political investment” to elect “clean candidates” to the secretary of state posts.
Named after Section 527 of the Internal Revenue Code, so-called 527 political groups — such as SOSP — have no upper limit on contributions and no restrictions on who may contribute in seeking to influence the selection, nomination, election, appointment or defeat of candidates to federal, state or local public office. They generally are not regulated by the Federal Election Commission (FEC), creating a soft-money loophole.
While FEC regulations limit individual donations to a maximum of $2,500 per candidate and $5,000 to a PAC, a number of 527 groups have poured tens of millions of unregulated dollars into various political efforts.
SOSP has backed 11 winning candidates in 18 races, including such key states as Ohio, Nevada, Iowa, New Mexico and Minnesota.
“Supporting secretary of state candidates with integrity is one of the most cost-efficient ways progressives can ensure they have a fair chance of winning elections,” SOSP said on its website, adding that “a relatively small influx of money — often as little as $30,000 to $50,000 — can change the outcome of a race.”

U.S. House and Senate Republican negotiators said they were pulling out of the bipartisan budget talks headed by Vice President Joe Biden for now because the group has reached an impasse over taxes that only President Barack Obama and Speaker John Boehner could resolve.
The breakdown was not entirely surprising because, from the start, Democrats have insisted some form of new revenue or tax increases be part of the eventual solution, given the goal of reducing the projected growth in the federal deficit by $4 trillion over 10 years. At the same time, Republicans have been equally firm in rejecting any tax increases. Both sides had a political incentive to resist compromise as long as possible in talks closely watched by their political base.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R., Va.), in an interview after a negotiating session he described as bitterly contentious, said he would not be attending Thursday’s scheduled meeting of the bipartisan deficit-reduction leadership group. Mr. Cantor said he believed it was time for the negotiations to move to a higher level.
“We’ve reached the point where the dynamic needs to change,” Mr. Cantor said. “It is up to the president to come in and talk to the speaker. We’ve reached the end of this phase. Now is the time for these talks to go into abeyance.”

An aide to Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R., Ariz.) also said the lawmaker was withdrawing from the talks. The two have been the GOP representatives in the negotiations for the last six weeks.
“The White House and Democrats are insisting on job-killing tax hikes and new spending,” Mr. Kyl said in a statement. “That proposal won’t address our fiscal crisis, our jobs crisis, or protect and reform entitlements.”
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) has been sounding an increasingly strident message of opposition to including any tax increases in the budget deal.

CAIR Appealing to IRS After Tax-Exempt Status Revoked
The largest Muslim advocacy group in the country plans to appeal to the IRS to regain its tax-exempt status after that status was revoked over an apparent problem with its paperwork.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, as well as the offshoot CAIR Foundation, was included earlier this month on a massive list of 275,000 organizations that the IRS said were losing their tax-exempt status because they did not file required annual reports.
Most of the groups on that list are presumed to be defunct, but CAIR is not -- its website continues to solicit "tax-deductible" donations.
CAIR and the thousands of other groups were cited after the IRS claimed they failed to file annual reports for three consecutive years as required by law. All those on the list can petition the IRS to have their status reinstated by filing an application for exemption and paying a fee.
CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper told FoxNews.com that the organization's accountant says CAIR "filed promptly in the last several years." But he said the status problem stems from "questions" over filings dating back to 2006 or 2007.
"We'll be doing whatever's necessary ... to rectify the situation," Hooper said.
Hooper downplayed CAIR's inclusion in the IRS chart.
"This is a technical paperwork issue that we're dealing with with the IRS -- as 275,000 other groups, including the AARP and major universities," Hooper said, before suggesting that reporting on its lost status was part of an effort to spread anti-Muslim "hate."
Losing tax-exempt status would be a major blow for any of the groups on the list still in business. Losing the exemption means organizations would have to pay income tax and their donors would not be able to deduct their contributions.
The required annual reports typically include information about a group's donations and other sources of revenue, as well as expenses, activities, investments and compensation of employees. Revenue information would include a breakdown of how much money is coming from various sources like membership dues and fundraising events, but not necessarily information on specific donors.
The IRS did not comment on why CAIR was included on the list.
Earlier this month, the IRS said in a statement that the agency tried for several years to inform organizations about the requirement to file this annual information.
"During the past several years, the IRS has gone the extra mile to help make tax-exempt groups aware of their legal filing requirement and allow them additional time to file," Commissioner Doug Shulman said.
CAIR is arguably the most vocal Muslim advocacy organization in the country, regularly condemning instances of bias, harassment and "hate crimes" against Muslims in the U.S.
But the group has also come under criticism for, among other reasons, being named by the Justice Department as an unindicted co-conspirator in a major terror financing case involving the Holy Land Foundation.
According to the Investigative Project on Terrorism, which first reported the IRS designation change, CAIR's state chapters still have active non-profit designations.
The IRS said in its statement that prior donations to any of the groups on the list remain tax-deductible.

The average monthly casualty rate for U.S. military forces serving in Afghanistan has increased 5-fold since President Barack Obama was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009.
1,540 U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan since Oct. 7, 2001, when U.S. forces began fighting in that country to oust the Taliban regime that had been harboring al Qaeda and to track down and capture or kill al Qaeda terrorists.
During the Bush presidency, which ended on Jan. 20, 2009 with the inauguration of President Obama, U.S. troops were present in Afghanistan for 87.4 months and suffered 570 casualties—a rate of 6.5 deaths per month.
During the Obama presidency, through today, U.S. troops have been present in Afghanistan for 29.1 months and have suffered 970 casualties—a rate of 33.3 deaths per month.

America's military leaders have distanced themselves from President's Barack Obama's plan to withdraw 33,000 troops from Afghanistan by next September, branding the drawdown timetable as more hasty and riskier than the one they proposed.
General David Petraeus, the Nato commander in Afghanistan, told Senators: "The ultimate decision was a more aggressive formulation, if you will, in terms of the timeline than what we had recommended."
Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the most senior United States military commander, used a hearing before the House Armed Services Committee to reveal a significant breach between Mr Obama and the senior officers he charged with defeating the Taliban in Afghanistan.
"The president's decisions are more aggressive and incur more risk than I was originally prepared to accept," he told a House of Representatives committee hearing.

Democrats in the Senate on Wednesday called on Vice President Joe Biden to include new economic stimulus spending in deficit-reduction talks as a way of lowering the 9.1 percent jobless rate that is hobbling the economic recovery.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the proposal to the White House, Richard Durbin, the No. 2 Democratic senator, told reporters.
"The Republicans are fixating on the budget deficit and it's a serious problem," Durbin said.
But citing the conclusions of a presidential deficit-cutting commission that he served on last year, Durbin added, "Get the recovery right before you get in this deficit cutting mode ... get people back to work. Let's start moving in that direction."
A senior Democratic aide said the job-creation idea Senate Democrats are now pursuing represented a pivot in the deficit-reduction negotiations.
He said the idea presented to the White House has three components to help create jobs: new infrastructure spending, a payroll tax cut and support for clean energy jobs.
He did not say how large the infrastructure spending proposal would be. In 2009, President Barack Obama won enactment of an $814 billion economic stimulus that Republicans opposed as wasteful spending.
The aide said the White House appeared to support extending the current payroll tax cut for employees, although there has been discussion on Capitol Hill of also expanding that tax cut to employers.
Biden is to return to the Senate on Wednesday for another meeting with the bipartisan group of lawmakers looking for ways to significantly reduce deficits. A deep cut in spending -- in the neighborhood of $4 trillion over a decade -- is a Republican requirement for allowing a vote to increase U.S. borrowing authority that is hitting up against a $14.3 trillion limit.
The group is facing an August 2 deadline for resolving the debt limit problem and thinks that it needs to make some decisions within the next few days in order to give the Senate and House of Representatives enough time to write and pass spending cut and debt limit legislation.
Durbin told reporters he thought that effort could become a "two-step" process containing a "serious down payment on the deficit" followed by more work on long-term savings.
"We're just not going to be able to accomplish (all of) it by August 2," Durbin said.
The Biden group has aimed to raise borrowing authority by enough to get through 2012 and next year's presidential and congressional elections.
"I hope Vice President Biden can get an agreement that takes us through the election. I don't know if he can," Durbin said.

Dems call for stimulus in debt deal as CBO offers warnings
Senate Democrats on Wednesday said stimulus measures should be included in a debt-ceiling deal even as a new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report shows public debt surging to nearly twice the economy’s size by 2035.
The Fed lowered its outlook on the economy on Wednesday, predicting it would grow between 2.7 and 2.9 percent in 2011, down from an earlier 3.1 to 3.3 percent estimate in April.
Schumer argued Republicans are focusing on the deficit at the peril of the economy, and that infrastructure spending and support for clean energy are other stimulus measures that should be considered by Congress.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) cast the CBO report as evidence that Washington needed to reduce regulatory barriers to business while cutting spending. In a statement, he criticized Democrats for proposing stimulus spending.
The CBO’s outlook presented two possible forecasts, both of which showed the nation’s finances deteriorating over the next quarter-century.

In an article in an Urdu-language quarterly magazine published by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Taliban commander Umer Khalid accused the “Western media and the international media working under its influence” of engaging in covering up the biggest news story of the day – that “the U.S. has been defeated in Afghanistan.”
The article, titled “The Group of 40 Thieves,” was published in the Urdu-language magazine Khilafat quarterly, which is a new publication from the TTP launched under the patronage of Umer Khalid. The first issue of the quarterly magazine, dated March 2011, was released on Internet jihadist forums in June 2011.
Umer Khalid, who is the TTP’s Emir for the Pakistani tribal district of Mohmand Agency, says that all countries are engaged in formulating new strategies in view of the U.S. defeat in Afghanistan, but that Pakistan is still slumbering. “India is worried about the defeat of its allies, and hence is busy in strengthening its defense preparedness, while China, Iran and Russia are seeing a glimpse of a new world order,” he writes.
“The countries of Europe, North and South America are contemplating their relations with that country [unclear], while the poor countries of Asia and Africa are in a dilemma as to which [superpower] bloc they should go with now. The governments of South Korea, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq, Algeria and Somalia are watching for consequences, and they are ready to make any defense agreement to strengthen themselves,” he says.

Huntsman,said he respects Obama but added that he and the president have "a difference of opinion on how to help the country we both love."
“ I don’t think you need to run down anyone’s reputation to run for president,” Huntsman told the crowd of 100 gathered at a pavilion jutting out into the Hudson River. “I respect my fellow Republican candidates. And I respect the president. He and I have a difference of opinion on how to help the country we both love.”
“But the question each of us wants the voters to answer is who will be the better president, not who’s the better American,” Huntsman said.

PricewaterhouseCoopers, a professional services firm created in a merger that destroyed several spaces and capital letters, has just issued their forecast for the future of America under ObamaCare. The Heritage Foundation provides a summary of the results.
It’s not pretty.
The important thing to remember about ObamaCare is that the past two years have been its salad days. The really hideous damage is still on the way. Thousands of jobs destroyed, health care costs rising, rampant corruption through the waiver program… and it’s just getting warmed up. This baby hasn’t even popped out of first gear yet.
What does PricewaterhouseCoopers see ahead for us? Health care costs continue to rise at an accelerating pace, from a 7.5% increase in 2010 to 8.5% in 2012. As Heritage’s Margot Crouch notes, this is the exact opposite of the promises made by President Obama.
But wait, that’s not all! “Even steeper rises in the cost of private insurance are possible, due to ObamaCare’s reductions in Medicare payment rates and its expansion of the Medicaid program,” warns Crouch. That’s because private parties have to make up the difference when those programs pay less.
The chief actuary of Medicare thinks “15 percent of hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies” will become unprofitable by 2019. What happens to unprofitable businesses again? I mean, after all the bailouts have been exhausted? What will the health care industry look like in eight years, when at least fifteen percent of the providers are gone?
The really awful news is PWC’s projection of employer reaction to ObamaCare’s crushing mandates. Their survey shows “nearly half of employers will drop their coverage, dumping employees into the government-run exchanges.” Also, “four out of five employers will make changes to help cover new costs under ObamaCare, including raising premiums, deductibles, and co-payments.”
So much for “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.” The tidal wave of people slamming into the federal exchanges will become a nuclear deficit explosion. We’ll all be able to look back at the charlatans who claimed ObamaCare would be deficit-neutral, and the simpletons who believed them, and laugh through our tears.
“The negative consequences of ObamaCare’s changes will be threefold: higher costs for those with employer-sponsored coverage; a greater debt burden on current and future taxpayers; and slower growth in job creation and the overall economy,” Crouch concludes. In other words, precisely the things ObamaCare critics said would happen. ObamaCare critics will go down in history as the most thoroughly vindicated group to ever pick up a keyboard.
Remember that every single politician who opposes the complete repeal of ObamaCare is willfully and knowingly condemning you to the future PricewaterhouseCoopers projects. Ignorance and fantasy are no longer excuses, and never should have been

After a two years, Obama’s Safe School’s czar Kevin Jennings has resigned from his position with the Obama Administration.
Despite the controversy, Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings and his GLSEN organization did nothing to clean up their act. In fact in 2001 activists handed out “fisting kits” to the children and teachers who attended the GLSEN conference.
But that’s not all. The children who attended Kevin Jennnings’ GLSEN 2005 Conference also left with their own “Little Black Book – Queer in the 21st Century”.

A New York Group Of Atheists Want Sign Honoring 9/11 Firefighters Removed

A group of New York City atheists is demanding that the city remove a street sign honoring seven firefighters killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks because they said the sign violates the separation of church and state.
The street, "Seven in Heaven Way," was officially dedicated last weekend in Brooklyn outside the firehouse where the firefighters once served. The ceremony was attended by dozens of firefighters, city leaders and widows of the fallen men.
"There should be no signage or displays of religious nature in the public domain," said Ken Bronstein, president of New York City Atheists. "It's really insulting to us."
Bronstein told Fox News Radio that his organization was especially concerned with the use of the word "heaven."
City leaders seemed dumbfounded by the atheists’ outrage because no one complained about the sign as it was going through a public approval process.
“It’s unfortunate that they didn’t raise this as an issue while it was undergoing its public review either at the community board level or when it came before the city council on their public agenda,” said Craig Hammerman, the district manager for Brooklyn Community Board Six.
Hammerman told Fox News Radio that the community was “solidly behind this proposal. Not a single person stood up to speak out against it. I think it’s a little late in the process for someone to be bringing this up now.”

Barack Obama’s administration is quietly offering a quasi-amnesty for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants aiming to win reelection by mobilizing a wave of new Hispanic voters without alienating the populous at large, say supporters of stronger immigration law enforcement.
The new rules were quietly announced Friday with a new memo from top officials at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. The “prosecutorial discretion” memo says officials need not enforce immigration laws if illegal immigrants are enrolled in an education center or if their relatives have volunteered for the US military.
“They’re pushing the [immigration] agents to be even more lax, to go further in not enforcing the law,” said Kris Kobach, Kansas’ secretary of state. “At a time when millions of Americans are unemployed and looking for work, this is more bad news coming from the Obama administration . . . [if the administration] really cared about putting Americans back to work, it would be vigorously enforcing the law,” he said.
“We think it is an excellent step,” said Laura Vasquez, at the Hispanic-advocacy group, La Raza, which pushed for the policies, and which is working with other groups to register Hispanics to vote in 2012. “What’s very important is how the prosecutorial discretion memo is implemented” on the streets, she said.
The Hispanic vote could be crucial in the 2012 election, because the Obama campaign hopes to offset its declining poll ratings by registering new Hispanic voters in crucial swing states, such as Virginia and North Carolina.
To boost the Hispanic vote, the administration has enlisted support from Hispanic media figures, appointed an experienced Hispanic political operative to run the political side of the Obama reelection campaign, and has maintained close ties to Hispanic advocacy groups, including La Raza. For example, La Raza’s former senior vice president and lobbyist, Cecilia Munoz, was hired by the Obama administration as director of intergovernmental affairs in 2009.
On Friday, officials at ICE announced several new administrative changes to immigration enforcement.
The primary document was the six-page “prosecutorial discretion” memo, which provided new reasons for officials to not deport illegal immigrants.
“When weighing whether an exercise of prosecutorial discretion may be warranted for a given alien, ICE officials, agents and attorneys should consider all relevant factors, including, but not limited to — the circumstances of the person’s arrival in the United States . . . particularly if the alien came to the United States as a young child; the Person’s pursuit of education . . . whether the person, or the person’s immediate relative, has served in the U.S. military,” said the memo.
“The factors are extremely broad and very troubling . . . [it] look like a stealth DREAM Act enforcement through non-enforcement,” said Kobach.

I have never heard an explanation from anyone involved in Operation Fast and Furious that I believe would justify what we did. The ATF is supposed to be a guardian of our citizens. To paraphrase the analogy of Army LTC Dave Grossman, ATF is supposed to be the sheepdog that protects against the wolves that prey upon our southern border. But rather than meet the wolf head-on, we sharpened its teeth and added number to its claws, all the while we sat idly by watching, tracking, and noting as it became a more efficient killer.
Prior to my coming to the Phoenix Field Division, I had never been involved in or even heard of an operation in which law enforcement officers let guns walk. The very idea of letting guns walk is unthinkable to most law enforcement. I and other field agents involved in the operation repeatedly raised these concerns with our supervisors. In response, we were told that we simply did not understand the plan. However, the numerous guns we let walk have yet to be recovered. Those that have been, were only recovered after the last time they were used in a crime. I cannot begin to think of how the risk of letting guns fall into the hands of known criminals could possibly advance any legitimate law enforcement interest. I hope the Committee will receive a better explanation than I ever did.

•January 20, 2009: A hard-core, idealogical leftist becomes President. •April 2009: The 90% claim is almost immediately debunked

•Fall 2009: Operation Fast and Furious begins.
•November 2010: The body of kidnapped Mexican attorney Mario Gonzalez Rodriguez is discovered in a shallow grave. It is now reported that he was killed with guns allowed to be smuggled under Operation Fast and Furious.
•December 14, 2010: Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry is shot with an AK-47 allowed to be smuggled to Mexico under this operation. He died the following day.

A 'Fast and Furious' border fiasco
This week, the Obama administration is expected to fire Kenneth Melson, the acting head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives -- tossing him under the bus as a symbolic gesture to a congressional committee headed by Rep. Daryl Issa (R-Calif.).
Issa's Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is investigating an insane ATF operation -- a supposed sting that involved the deliberate funneling of thousands of weapons to ultra-violent Mexican drug cartels in 2009-10.
The op's name, "Fast and Furious," came from the series of movies about an undercover drag racer working for the FBI -- which gives you some idea of the lack of seriousness behind this cockamamie scam.
The Justice Department, which oversees the ATF, says the idea was to allow the sale of handguns, AK-47s and .50 caliber rifles to so-called "straw purchasers," who'd then pass them along to the cartels. In theory, ATF agents would then trace the extent of the smuggling networks in an effort to stop the illegal cross-border gun trade.

This took awhile but this is heating up. Obama of course is lieing, He knew. So this is a cover up as well as running guns into a "friendly" neighbor, murder of a US Officer, and who knows how many murders in Mexico. And Obama and Holder both knew perfectly well what they were doing.
A US Border Patrol agent was killed by AK47 bullets and the AKs used to kill him were dropped at the scene by the fleeing murderers. Those AKs were 'Fast And Furious' transported guns.

We also know that ATF has been instructing U.S. dealers to proceed with the sale of guns to illegal straw purchasers, even after the dealers had specifically warned them that they appeared to be illegal. We know that two of these ‘monitored’ guns were recovered at the scene of Agent Terry’s murder.
Have you noticed how little information has come out of the White house regarding all of this? It shows me that they don;t want to say anything that will be used against them later. They are in deep now that it came out and are trying to distance themselves as much as they can.

ATF acting director may resign over Fast and Furious program
Kenneth Melson, acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, is expected to resign under pressure, perhaps in the next day or two, in the wake of the controversy over Operation Fast and Furious, two senior federal law enforcement sources said Monday.
In the operation, straw buyers were allowed to purchase illegally large numbers of weapons, some of which ended up in the hands of cartels in Mexico.
Attorney General Eric Holder will meet Tuesday with Andrew Traver, head of the ATF field office in Chicago, about potentially serving as acting director of the agency, according to senior federal law enforcement sources, who are familiar with the details of the controversy.
The Justice Department refused comment. White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters he had no new information on the issue.
The operation has come under intense criticism since the December killing of a U.S. Border Patrol officer.
Operation Fast and Furious was "a colossal failure of leadership," Peter Forcelli, a supervisor at the bureau's Phoenix field office, said recently.
The program focused on following people who legally bought weapons that were then transferred to criminals and destined for Mexico. But instead of intercepting the weapons when they switched hands, Operation Fast and Furious called for ATF agents to let the guns "walk" and wait for them to surface in Mexico, according to a report by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The idea was that once the weapons in Mexico were traced back to the straw purchasers, the entire arms smuggling network could be brought down. Instead, the report argues, letting the weapons slip into the wrong hands was a deadly miscalculation that resulted in preventable deaths, including that of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
Terry was killed last year north of the Mexican border in Arizona after confronting bandits believed to be preying on illegal immigrants. Two weapons found near the scene of the killing were traced to Fast and Furious.
"I was flabbergasted. I couldn't believe it at first," Terry's mother, Josephine, said when she learned the ATF may have let some of the guns used in the attack slip through its fingers. Terry's relatives said they want all those involved in his killing and who helped put the weapons in their hands to be prosecuted.
"We ask that if a government official made a wrong decision, that they admit their error and take responsibility for his or her actions," Robert Heyer, Terry's cousin and family spokesman, said in a hearing last week by the House panel.
The committee's chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California, called the operation "felony stupid." As many as 2,000 semiautomatic rifles reached the hands of cartels as a result, and Issa said the top two ATF officials were briefed on the program regularly.
In Mexico, the case has drawn nationwide attention and sharp criticism from top officials, who have long stressed that U.S. weapons are fueling the country's drug war.
The Mexican attorney general's office demanded a quick U.S. investigation of the matter in March and said authorities must hold accountable anyone who was responsible for the operation.

My space and your attention are limited so I will get right to the point. Obama and his Leftwing radical friends embrace an evil agenda which is to destroy a free nation by driving it off a cliff economically and socially so they can collect the ashes and transform this nation into a third-world Fascist totalitarian state. Many of their tactics are not readily visible to mainstream America since the Left ‘owns’ the pimp street television media, but a few organizations such as Judicial Watch seek to find and expose the truth through the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) to our Congress and the American people.
The White House and its federal agencies frequently violate requests for public information in order to hide their tactics, in which case Judicial Watch brings lawsuits for contempt against the Administration and its agencies such as Department of Justice.
Here are five major areas of interest about which all Americans should be aware.
1. Obamacare: HHS (Dept of Health and Human Services) is already engaged in reviews of new life-saving cancer treatments with the apparent objective of determining which will be paid for by Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) based upon cost considerations which violates the Department’s own guidelines. The drug most recently in question is Provenge to treat prostate cancer. Under pressure from Judicial Watch, CMS recently approved coverage for this life-saving drug while denying that cost considerations were a factor in its review. This is but one example of the newly created Obamacare ‘death panels’ which will ration care based on financial considerations unless the law is repealed. Meanwhile, release of documents to Judicial Watch under the FOIA reveals the Obama administration has launched a 200 million dollar taxpayer-funded media campaign to promote Obamacare in order to manipulate public opinion!
2. Illegal alien issues: thanks to Judicial Watch, a college in New Jersey which had been granting discounted tuition to illegal aliens was forced to reverse this policy which is a violation of state and Federal laws. Meanwhile, it appears the Obama administration and its complicit Homeland Security department are working on multiple avenues for ‘stealth amnesty’---that is to legalize illegal aliens through Presidential mandates while removing Congress---and thus the electorate---from the process. Under the FOIA, Judicial Watch has filed for release of White House and Department of Homeland Security documents pertaining to such communications but the Administration has not complied. Therefore, suit has been filed against the Obama Administration for contempt. Immigration attorneys in Houston seeking deportation of illegals have reported that many 34000 deportations were suspended last year and they have been ordered to drop prosecution of such cases unless a criminal act has been committed. Is not illegal immigration a criminal act?
3. The Department of Injustice: Attorney General Eric Holder has colluded with the Obama administration to commit heinous acts of sedition and harm to American citizens in many ways, not only by not enforcing Federal immigration laws but actively subverting those laws to create a new voting bloc for Obama’s reelection, while simultaneously bringing harm to Americans living along the Mexican border. Judicial Watch has discovered collusion between DOJ and anti-American ACLU in the legal attack against Arizona’s immigration enforcement law; apparent collusion between the racist NAACP and DOJ to drop voter intimidation charges against the Black Panthers in Philadelphia during the ’08 election; the DOJ has thus far refused to release pertinent documents requested by Judicial Watch under the FOIA (for fear of being found out?). The DOJ has clearly violated Federal laws through its racist and politically-motivated ways.
Worse than that is Eric Holder’s false testimony last week before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform as to his knowledge of and involvement in Project Gunrunner, specifically Project ‘Fast and Furious’ in which BATFE agents (under the DOJ) were ordered to look the other way as straw buyers purchased over 2500 assault weapons from American gun dealers, those weapons destined for Mexican drug cartels under the pretense that BATFE was tracking where these weapons would go. But the real scheme was for DOJ and the Obama Administration to build a case for firearms restrictions in America (in violation of the Second Amendment!) by manufacturing a situation whereby guns recovered from crime scenes committed by cartels could be ‘blamed’ on the availability of guns from American gun dealers. So far over 800 of these guns have been recovered from crime scenes as far as 20 miles north of the Mexican border, one of which resulted in the death of U. S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, whose family has demanded an investigation by Congress, and that anyone who was involved in this seditious scheme should be prosecuted and brought to justice. Could that be AG Eric Holder or even Obama? Current data from STRATFOR indicates that less than 12 percent of guns recovered at crime scenes south of the border in 2008 were obtained in the United States.
4. Voter fraud: the Chicago-based ‘community organizing group’ ACORN has reorganized across America under many different names (Project Vote for one) and is being funded by the Administration and the Left to continue its commission of massive voter fraud in order to get Obama reelected in 2012. Meanwhile, the ‘old’ ACORN has been investigated and convicted on at least 35 documented election fraud schemes in 17 states leading up to the 2008 election of Barack Obama. We are talking about at least 400,000 fraudulent votes! Examples include cases in Nevada where convicted felons and drug addicts were paid to register new voters who did not exist; Philadelphia, where tens of thousands of fraudulent voter registration forms were submitted; other cases in St. Louis, Connecticut, Washington State, and Texas. Methodologies range from bussing people across state lines to vote, voting names more than once, enlisting convicted felons in voter registration drives and allowing them to vote, voting on behalf of dead people, and falsifying voter registrations. I am amazed that all voters are not required to present photo ID at which time they would be checked off as having voted. Such a simple solution at the national level has been challenged as ‘racist’ by the Left!
5. Labor Unions: the Obama administration is using the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and unions to infringe on rights of companies to expand and compete, thereby further inhibiting the private sector’s economic recovery. Boeing has decided to build a plant in South Carolina. That state, like most, is a right-to-work state which does not force workers to join unions. But organized labor under the Obama Administration does not agree and is trying to prevent Boeing from expanding into South Carolina under the pretense that the company is circumventing organized labor at the expense of union workers in the state of Washington. No one is being laid off at the plant in Washington, and it is Boeing’s or any other company’s right to build where they want and employ whomever they determine to be qualified---that is America! Ultimately, Boeing must prevail or the company will do as many others have done and move overseas which further hinders America’s economic recovery. The Administration leans on its labor union supporters to be openly tyrannical and anti-American.
Obama, Holder, and their anti-American cronies must be removed, prosecuted, convicted, and punished for their crimes against humanity and America.
These animals are hell bent on destroying the private sector (the U.S. economy) through a wall of expensive regulations, by openly supporting organized labor unions who helped elect them, and preventing America from achieving energy independence and national security. They will stop at nothing to disarm patriots, and abolish our freedom of religious expression and free speech.
This spendthrift narcissistic president and his family jet around the world on lavish vacations at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars, with no annual federal budget for this year or next, no plan for addressing the huge national debt, nor any true compassion for economic hardships endured by average Americans.
This Administration also spends hundreds of billions of dollars the country does not have (except by printing and devaluing the currency) on its pet bureaucratic agencies and their objectives framed by the impractical and costly ideologies of the Left. There are a number of organizations engaged in investigating, exposing and achieving justice such as Judicial Watch, Alliance Defense Fund, Liberty Counsel and NRA, all of which deserve our support to at this most critical time to help defend against a total transformation (destruction) by the Left.

NBC issued an on-air apology Sunday for omitting the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance during its coverage of golf’s U.S. Open.
The words were edited out of a clip of children reciting the oath — a move immediately noted by viewers, who took to Twitter and various blogs to voice their anger, the Huffington Post reported.
In a statement during the broadcast, NBC commentator Dan Hicks said, “We began our coverage of this final round just about three hours ago and when we did it was our intent to begin the coverage of this U.S. Open Championship with a feature that captured the patriotism of our national championship being held in our nation’s capital for the third time.
NBC commentator Dan Hicks said, "[snip] Regrettably, a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance that was in that feature was edited out. It was not done to upset anyone and we'd like to apologize to those of you who were offended by it."

Notice they didn’t say “accidently”. They said “regrettably”. And they only regret it because they didn’t expect folks to go ballistic on them.
They couldn’t even say “Under God” in their apology. It was just “a portion”.
It was not “omitted,” as in, “forgetting to include”. . .it was intentionally edited out. Someone decided it was unacceptable.

With the Obama economy limping along thanks in part to the Administration’s policies in favor of extreme dollar weakness, there’s growing speculation as to his re-election chances in 2012. Will a difficult economic situation that includes high levels of unemployment make Obama a one-term president? History says no given the power of incumbency.
Added to that, another popular narrative of late points to an Obama victory owing to the supposed economic illiteracy of the electorate, along with a media that will provide our weakened president with positive media coverage no matter the state of the economy. Of course the problem with this bit of theorizing is that Americans aren’t stupid, and after that, past elections suggest that those same Americans tend to tune out the media.

To put it simply, voters aren’t dim and they know when the economy is performing well. Conversely, when the economy is acting badly, voters are well aware once again.
The economy is weak, its weakness by definition has Washington and the Obama administration’s fingerprints all over it, and no matter how the media spin that which isn’t working, Obama is in serious trouble.
What’s unknown is if there’s a Republican who truly knows why the Obama economy sags, and who can talk about anything other than tax cuts which, at this point, are not the point. Specifically, is there a Republican who can explain to voters that $100 trips to the gas station are the direct result of the Administration’s currency policies, not to mention that a weak dollar decreases the very investment that drives company formation and job creation.
If such a Republican exists Obama will be a one-term president. If not, the Republicans don’t deserve to retake the White House.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday he wanted his US counterpart Barack Obama to win re-election next year, fearing that the two men’s efforts to improve ties may lose steam under a new administration.
“I can tell you directly — I would like Barack Obama to be re-elected president of the United States maybe more than someone else,” Medvedev said in an interview with the Financial Times whose full transcript was released by the Kremlin early Monday.
“If another person becomes US president then he may have another course,” he said.
“We understand that there are representatives of a rather conservative wing there who are trying to achieve their political goals at the expense of inflaming passions in relation to Russia, among other things.
“But what use is criticising them? This is simply a way of achieving political goals.”

Texas Gov. Rick Perry Speaking to the Republican Leadership Conference
In his speech, Perry spoke soaringly of the ideals that America was founded upon, and what has made America great. He urged the crowd to join him in doing whatever it takes to turn the tide of Barack Obama’s runaway spending, runaway interfering, and runaway unemployment.
Perry described the simple economic principles he has followed during his 10 years as Governor of Texas – principles that have result in Texas leading the way in job creation – creating 48% of all the jobs created in America over the last two years:
1. “Don’t spend all the money.” 2. Keep the tax burden low. 3. Reduce regulation on business, and make needed regulations consistent, fair, and predictable so businesses and job creators know what to expect from quarter to quarter. 4. Reign in frivolous lawsuits through lawsuit reform that protects businesses from devastating attacks. He cited the recent passage of “Loser-Pay” legislation as an example of such reforms.
But Perry did more than just give a 3-point plan on the economy. He got at the fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives, between Democrats and Republicans, between Barack Obama and – Rick Perry. Perry cast the 2012 Election as the great decision of the American people about whether an ever-growing, more centralized and intrusive Federal Government knows best, or whether individual Americans know best.
“Our opponents on the left are never going to like us, so let’s stop trying to curry favor with them,” he said, before imploring the crowd to “stand up. Let’s speak with pride about our values. Let’s stop this American downward spiral.”
He acknowledged later with a smile, “I’m preaching to the choir here."
Perry also warned that unless the “runaway train of ObamaCare” is stopped before 2014, it will break and destroy state budgets around the nation with its burdensome requirements. Perry forcefully called on conservatives to stop apologizing for standing up for the most vulnerable among us – the unborn. He clearly is seeking to bring together strong conservative stands on social issues and fiscal issues.
When he finished, the crowd was on their feet chanting, “Run, Rick, Run!”

Bachmann particularly underlined a bill she has introduced to allow Americans to buy whatever light bulb they want to buy! She pledged: “President Bachmann will allow you to buy any light bulb you want in the United States of America!”

“In fact, I have two dreams. The first dream that I have is that in November 2012, conservative Republicans are going take back the House and the Senate. I have a dream. I’ve got another dream for 2012. That dream is that you are looking at the next President of the United States of America!”

Each of these three had a lot of highlights of their speeches and especially Perry who was excellent. His is the only one I could find that had the complete speech.

Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul walked away from the Republican Leadership Conference Saturday with another straw poll victory. Paul received 612 of 1542 votes cast, just under 40 percent.
Paul’s campaign characterized the result as a “shockwave” in a message emailed to supporters after the vote.
That shock was palpable in the ballroom of the Hilton Riverside Hotel when Paul’s numbers were announced, with a wave of boos rippling throughout the crowd. The emcee declared, “I’m just the messenger” as Paul’s remaining backers fought back by cheering and clapping.
By the time the remainder of the results had been read and Paul had been confirmed as the winner, the jeering returned, as Paul’s voters on the floor clapped and cried out their candidate’s name. Although Paul’s supporters overflowed into the hallway Friday, most were absent for Saturday’s proceedings.
One Paul supporter, who declined to provide his name, told The Daily Caller that he was “a little disappointed” by the behavior exhibited by some of the supporters of losing candidates.
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, who spoke Friday, came in third place with 191 votes. Also at the weekend conference were Herman Cain, who scored 104 votes, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who received 69 votes, and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, who won 30 votes.
Perhaps an even bigger surprise than Paul’s win was the second-place finish by former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman. Huntsman placed second with 382 votes despite skipping his scheduled appearance Friday, citing health issues. Gov. Mitt Romney, who beat Paul by one vote in a straw poll held here a year ago, came in fifth with 79 votes.
One potential candidate who was not on the straw ballot, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, spoke to a welcoming crowd. Many present were hoping that Perry would announce his own run for President during his address, but it did not happen.

These are caucus polls, meaning whoever can stack the most people in an auditorium, will win.
Another useless and irrational RLC poll – none of which has EVER been even CLOSE to predicting the actual candidate.
By again voting for Ron Paul, the RLC attendees disgrace and embarrass the REAL conservative movement, which is committed to having candidates that can actually WIN A NATIONAL ELECTION, yet remain true to conservative principles and ideals.

Obama's Insane Green-Car Mandate Will Eliminate 260,000 Jobs
Obama’s radical CAFE mandate “could force vehicle prices up by nearly $10,000, reduce sales by 5.5 million vehicles annually, and eliminate more than 260,000 jobs.”
The purpose of federal fuel-economy mandates is to keep the agenda of green pols hidden lest the public awaken to their enormous costs. Want to make cars fuel efficient? Tax gas. And commit political suicide. So instead we get the stealthy Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) laws, which forces automakers to compromise cars to government standards, not those of customers.
But sometimes those costs still leak out.
The Detroit News’s dogged David Shepardson has unearthed a study by one of world’s most respected automotive research firms that reveals that President Obama’s radical CAFE mandate that vehicles average — average! — 62 MPG by 2025 “could force vehicle prices up by nearly $10,000, reduce sales by 5.5 million vehicles annually, and eliminate more than 260,000 jobs.”
Shepardson is quoting from the Michigan-based Center for Automotive Research and the 260,000 job loss figure (consistent with past job losses from CAFE rule hikes) is another dent in White House’s propaganda that Green creates jobs.
The CAR study also reveals that Obama’s NHTSA and EPA have been gaming the figures when it comes to the cost of their new rules. The center’s study predicts it will cost between $3,744 and $9,790 per vehicle, while the agencies have low-balled the figure at $770 to $3,500 per vehicle.
The resulting costs would shrink the new-car market, with 5.5 million potential buyers disappearing (and manufacturing jobs with them) by 2025. That assumes that the auto fleet can even be built to meet such an absurd spec. Currently, no car — much less the average — meets 62 mpg. Indeed, only a handful of small vehicles meet the 35-mpg fleet-wide standard mandated in just five years.
As a result, there is more gaming of the system, as automakers pour lobbying money into D.C. to effect regulatory agency rules handing credits to electric cars — whether customers buy them or not.
This is change, Obama-style: More rules, more lobbyists, more corruption of government standards. It all adds up to more jobs for Washington bureaucrats, and fewer for the rest of the country.

Efforts in Congress to force terrorism suspects into military commissions are undermining the war on terror, Attorney General Eric Holder charged in a speech to a liberal lawyers' group in Washington Thursday night.
“I am determined to defeat our enemies,” Holder said in his address to the American Constitution Society. “But victory and security will not come easily. And they won’t come at all if we adhere to a rigid ideology, adopt a narrow methodology, or abandon our most effective terror-fighting weapon — our Article Three [civilian] court system.”
“Without civilian law enforcement and Article Three courts, our ability to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat terror plots; to secure actionable intelligence; to enlist international cooperation; and to punish those who have — and who intend to — harm Americans would be seriously damaged,” Holder declared to considerable applause from the audience of about 700. “We must speak out. And we must set the record straight.”
Since 2009, Republican lawmakers — with the support or acquiescence of many Democrats–have repeatedly passed legislation limiting the Obama administration’s ability to try accused terrorists in civilian courts. Obama has signed several broad bills containing such measures, even as he expressed disagreement with the terror-trial limits. However, last month, the White House issued its first veto threat ever against legislation seeking to rein in the administration’s options for dealing with detainees.
“Politics has no place — no place — in the impartial and effective administration of justice. Decisions about how, where, and when to prosecute must be made by prosecutors, not politicians. This is true for every case, whether it involves or white collar criminals or brutal terrorists,” Holder said.
Notwithstanding Obama’s past decisions to sign bills that effectively blocked civilian trials for some terror suspects, Holder vowed that “so long as I am privileged to serve as Attorney General, I will defend the exclusive right of the Executive Branch to determine appropriate venues and mechanisms for all criminal trials.”
The terror-trials controversy is bubbling up again as the administration presses a case in federal civilian court against two Iraqi nationals in Kentucky accused of aiding attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq.
“The place for foreign terrorists and terror trials is in the secure detention facility at Guantanamo Bay — not in U.S. communities and civilian courtrooms,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said in a statement Thursday night. “There is wide, bipartisan opposition to giving the rights of U.S. citizens to men who tried to kill our troops on the battlefield.”

Obama Administration filed papers supporting the Planned Parenthood lawsuit in Indiana.
Late Thursday, the Obama administration filed legal papers supporting the lawsuit brought forward by the Planned Parenthood abortion business seeking to challenge the Indiana law revoking its taxpayer funding.
Governor Mitch Daniels signed the law, which would cut off anywhere from $2 million to $3 million the Planned Parenthood abortion business receives in federal funds via the Indiana government through Medicaid. A federal judge held a hearing earlier this week on the law, (H.B. 1210), which would have the effect of defunding Planned Parenthood and other similar organizations that perform abortions. It states that no state agency may enter into a contract with or make a grant to “any entity that performs abortions or maintains or operates a facility where abortions are performed that involves the expenditure of state funds or federal funds administered by the state.”
UPDATE: Late Friday, Judge Pratt gave Indiana officials one week to respond to the new legal papers and Planned Parenthood agreed to the one week wait.
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller told AP that the filing by the Justice Department “inappropriate.”
“The federal government’s surprise filing yesterday seems inappropriate as they should be heard in the administrative process and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals that they have established for this purpose,” Zoeller said.
The brief followed the Obama administration telling Indiana officials that it can’t implement the new law.
Indiana Right to Life president Mike Fichter condemned the Obama administration for siding with the abortion business.
“Last night’s after-hours brief by the U.S. Justice Department urging a federal judge to block Indiana’s right to defund Planned Parenthood is just one more stunning example of why we must all stand together in this fight to defend Indiana’s sovereignty against a federal administration that is bent on defending the business of killing unborn children,” he told LifeNews. “Abortion supporters are pouring money in to Indiana hand-over-fist because they know all eyes of the nation are now on the Hoosier state.”
“The abortion industry is worried that what is happening in Indiana will happen in states across the nation, and they are working hard to silence our voice and to keep your tax dollars subsidizing the business of abortion,” he said.

On the government release of her emails: “It certainly shows the priorities in what was once a respected cornerstone of our democracy; our mainstream media and we see that priorities are quite skewed. With the gusto they went after my emails; I hope folks who read the emails learned a lot about energy independence, fish and game conservation, protecting second amendment rights, why I opposed Obama’s stimulus package.
"I hope folks learned a lot from these benign and boring emails but it showed a picture of what my priorities were, with a servant’s heart, trying to serve the people of Alaska. I knew there was nothing to hide because I know what I have done over these years. There are some things in the emails that I thought provided some vindication like why I killed the bridge to nowhere. Hopefully it just shed some more light into my ideology.”

Obama's Friend Bill Ayers Again Denied Access To Canada
Former American radical Bill Ayers has once again been barred from entering Canada
Mr. Ayers was scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the Worldview Conference on Media and Higher Education this Thursday in Toronto. Conference organizers say Mr. Ayer’s refused entry should “should raise red flags for citizens concerned with free and open debate.”
“Bill Ayers is a respected academic, and in no way a threat to the peace and security of Canada. There is no reason why he should be kept out,” said Mark Langer, President of the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA), who is hosting the event.
Mr. Ayers was barred from entering Canada in 2009 after touching down at Toronto City Centre Airport. At the time, he said he had entered Canada dozens of time before without incident.
Mr. Ayers has hired Canadian and American lawyers in unsuccessful attempts to lobby the Canadian Border Services Agency for passage into the country. Advised by his lawyers that he would likely be held at the border, he did not attempt a crossing this time around.
According to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, foreign nationals are barred from entering Canada if they were involved “in criminal activity, in human rights violations or in organized crime.”
During the 2008 presidential campaign, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was criticized for once serving on a Chicago charitable board with Ayers. Then-Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin accused Mr. Obama at the time of “palling around” with an “unrepentant domestic terrorist.”
”I don’t regret setting bombs,” said Bill Ayers in a New York Times interview, coincidentally published on September 11, 2001. He added that he would not “discount the possibility” of doing it again.

Anthony Weiner Resigns Over His Sexual Scandal
The embattled congressman stepped down today after admitting he sent lewd photos of himself to women he befriended on Facebook and Twitter.
Rep. Anthony Weiner resigned from office Thursday, saying, "Unfortunately, the distraction that I have created" has made it "impossible" to continue his work in Congress.
Weiner apologized "for the personal mistakes I have made and for the embarrassment I have caused" to his neighbors, his constituents, and his wife.

Gore Lauds Romney On Climate Position
Former Vice President Al Gore on Wednesday praised GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney for his acknowledgement of global climate change.
Gore, who has championed climate issues since losing the 2000 presidential race, posted a note on his blog that praised Romney for being consistent on his position that humans have contributed to rising global temperatures.
"Good for Mitt Romney — though we've long passed the point where weak lip-service is enough on the Climate Crisis," Gore wrote. "While other Republicans are running from the truth, he is sticking to his guns in the face of the anti-science wing of the Republican Party."
Gore's message could further provoke conservatives, some of whom objected last week after Romney reiterated his position at a town-hall meeting in New Hampshire.
“Bye-bye, nomination,” conservative talker Rush Limbaugh said on his radio last Tuesday, The Washington Post noted.
President Obama and other Democrats have also named the healthcare reforms Romney sought as Massachusetts governor as a template for the new national healthcare law.
But as Gore suggested, Romney and he disagree over how to fix the problem. Gore favors a cap-and-trade energy policy whereas Romney opposes one.
“We don’t call it ‘America warming,’" Romney said, according to the Post. “We call it ‘global warming.’"
Romney initially favored a regional cap-and-trade program as governor, but eventually pulled Massachusetts out of the agreement over economic concerns.
Gore offered Romney similar praise last year after the former Massachusetts governor reiterated his position in his memoir, No Apology.

Chairman Peter King addresses "racist" charge at hearing on prison radicalization
Rep. Laura Richardson (D-CA) says the Committee hearing on Muslim radicalization in U.S. prisons “can be deemed as racist and is discriminatory.” Richardson complained that the hearings were focusing specifically on Muslim radicalization and not others like the Aryan Nation.
Rep. Peter King pointed out that the Democrats had control for four years and never once had a hearing on anything involving skinheads, Nazis, or the Aryan Nation. King said, “Suddenly this issue emerges when we start talking about Muslim radicalization…we have a judiciary committee to deal with other issues in the prison…If we find out that neo-Nazis are allied with a foreign power and are coming to this country we will investigate it.”
Also Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.), the committee chairman, quickly shot back that he disagreed "100 percent" with Richardson.
"The purpose of this committee is to combat Islamic terrorism because that is the terrorist threat to this country. If we find out that neo-Nazis are allied with a foreign power and they come into this country, we will investigate it," King said.

California Democrat, Rep. Laura Richardson, has been under the House Ethics microscope since the fall of 2009. She defaulted six times on home loans, left a trail of unpaid bills in her wake and allegedly failed to report required information on her financial disclosure forms while receiving special treatment from a lender. While the panel cleared her of "knowingly" accepting favors, she is reportedly the subject of a second probe into using employees on government time to work on her political campaign."

Tim was one of six kids in a very active household. He came from a lineage of military folks as his father was a Marine in Vietnam and his grandfather was in the Coast Guard
in World War II. Tim spends hundreds of hours helping out various charities, advocates for veterans' benefits and their causes and visits veterans' hospitals.

OBAMA And His Administration Actively Working To STOP Jobs By Attacking The Boeing Company
Not content with pursuing policies that have failed to grow the economy, OBAMA and his administration is now actively discouraging job creation by attacking the Boeing Company for building a plant in a state that protects the right of workers not to unionize. Senate Republicans are urging the president to speak out in support of Boeing and reject the National Labor Relations Board's attempt to stifle job creation in America. Senate Republicans are also urging the administration to address Medicare's looming bankruptcy by sitting down with Republicans to work out a way to secure Medicare's future for the long-term.

Hearing begins in labor complaint against Boeing
Boeing on Tuesday asked a judge in Seattle to dismiss a case brought by the National Labor Relations Board that accuses the plane maker of breaking the law when it built a non-union production line in South Carolina.
The complaint by NLRB acting general counsel Lafe Solomon accused Boeing Co. of illegally retaliating against union workers for past strikes by adding a non-union assembly line for its new 787 passenger jet in South Carolina. The NLRB said Boeing also should move that assembly work to unionized plants in Washington state, where other 787s are assembled.
At the opening of a hearing on the case Tuesday, Boeing attorney William Kilberg said the legal dispute has cast a shadow over the company. He said the process has affected Boeing, its employees, its supplies and its investments. "It's made life very, very difficult for Boeing," he said.
"There's no one injured, no one identified as being injured. No one has lost a job. We have no idea when the board talks about work being transferred, what work they're referring to," Kilberg said, adding that 3,176 jobs have been added in Everett, Wash., north of Seattle.
Carson Glickman-Flora, an attorney representing the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, said outside the courtroom Tuesday that it is not necessary to demonstrate economic harm to show Boeing broke the law.
The government's complaint alleges that company executives made repeated statements to Boeing employees and the media citing the union's past strike activity and the possibility of future strikes as the overriding factors in deciding to locate a second line in South Carolina.
Mara-Louise Anzalone, counsel for the NLRB's Solomon, told the judge Tuesday that "this is a rather large, rather straightforward case," and that union work was transferred to a non-union location.

"If you were looking for a bunch of partisan rhetoric, I'm probably not your guy," President Obama said at a fundraiser in Miami.
A low-dollar fundraiser here Monday felt like a throwback to the 2008 campaign.
There was the same old soundtrack – including “City of Blinding Lights” by U2, the president’s 2008 anthem -- the enthusiastic organizers and the abundant appeals for supporters to rally behind President Obama.
The one missing element? Overflowing crowds.
Granted, it was a fundraiser, not a free rally. But the empty seats were hard to miss.
The top level of the 2,200-seat concert hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts was entirely empty, as were the seats along the side of the second and third levels.
980 Tickets were sold.
Tickets for the Gen 44 event started at $44, the official said.
"This is going to be a very tough fight," said Alonzo Mourning, the former Miami Heat player, who spoke ahead of the president. Once Obama took the stage, a protester interrupted him at one point, repeatedly yelling: "Keep your promise, stop AIDS now." But the protester was quickly drowned out by the audience chanting, "Obama, Obama, Obama."
"The reason we’re here today is because our work’s not done," Obama said after hushing the crowd. "Our work is not complete. We're not at the summit. We’re just part way up the mountain. There is more to do."
He didn't directly address the protester's issue.

Last Nights Debate in New Hampshire
Debate in New Hampshire tonight was a study in how not to put on a debate. The way the debate was structured was very disjointed, with questions bouncing all over the place, and only a few candidates getting to respond to any one question. That makes it very difficult to differentiate between the candidates. CNN’s John King, from the moment he asked a question, was often muttering in the background to try and get the candidate to stop talking! It was incredibly annoying.

The candidates need to continue to hammer away at obama and take on a take no prisoner attitude. This is the survival of our beloved country and there is no time to waste. obama is a steam roller of destruction.

The moderator was John King and he was beyond horrible, totally impatient and rushed for quick replies, giving more time to the person asking the question then those answering . Also OMG he kept doing a low level grunt that his mic was picking up and he would do it while the candidates were trying to answer his questions. John King’s constant background interruptions were ridiculous as were his stupid choice questions. Unbelievable! Audience bio’s time and stupid questions time, but rush the candidates and grunt into your mike througout their answer.
If the GOP can grow some balls, and continue to make ads using Obama’s words against himself, we might have a chance.But again it depends who the candidate is as well.

Committee demands documents regarding Operation Fast and Furious
Congressional Investigations Began today on Operation Fast and Furious where in essence the administration is on trial. There have only been twelve occasions where top administration officials have been held in contempt since Watergate. Today the ground work was laid to hold ATF director Kennth Melson and potentially Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for their refusal to hand over documents regarding Operation Fast and Furious, the secret administration program that put thousands of guns into the hands of Mexican cartels while publicly blaming American gun shops and lack of American gun laws.
For months the ATF and DOJ have ignored subpoenas and demand letters and have not turned over a single document. Areas of inquiry have included: How Fast and Furious got started, Communications between the FBI, DOJ and the ATF over the death of border agent Terry who was killed by one of the guns involved, and What the DOJ knew about the operation. The administration has spent OVER $1,000,000 tax payer dollars on project Fast & Furious and Project Gun Runner.
The second phase of the hearing is set for Wednesday where testimonies will be heard.

Obama told NBC News that if he were in Representative Anthony D. Weiner’s position, “I would resign,” according to a senior network executive.
The president stopped short of specifically demanding that Mr. Weiner resign, saying: “I can tell you that if it was me, I would resign. Because public service is exactly that, it’s a service to the public.”
But he strongly suggested that it was in the best interests of Mr. Weiner and his constituents if the Democratic congressman were to step aside.
He later added: “When you get to the point where, because of various personal distractions, you can’t serve as effectively as you need to at the time when people are worrying about jobs and their mortgages and paying the bills, then you should probably step back.”

New Hampshire Republican Debate Tonight
Former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu and former New Hampshire Sen. John Sununu preview the CNN New Hampshire debate.
Airtime is 8pm Eastern time on CNN
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum will participate in the June 13 debate on the campus of Saint Anselm College.
This is the first time that Bachmann, Gingrich and Romney will appear in a 2012 presidential debate. The event is being sponsored by CNN, WMUR and the New Hampshire Union Leader. CNN Chief National Correspondent/Anchor John King will moderate the debate with journalists from WMUR and the Union Leader participating in the questioning.
Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson was not invited to the first New Hampshire debate of the Republican primary on June 13.
“I respect the right of CNN and the other sponsors of the June 13 New Hampshire Republican presidential primary debate to apply their own criteria and invite who they choose,” Johnson said in a statement Friday. “It is, however, unfortunate that a significant segment of the Republican Party, and more importantly, millions of independent voters who might be Republican voters, will not have a voice on the stage in Manchester.”
Some that were invited will not be there. Jon Hunrtsman and Sarah Palin was also invited but said no.
Huntsman decided to take a pass on the debate, saying that he is not yet an official candidate and still putting the finishing touches on his potential campaign.

As a cache of embarrassing new photos appeared Sunday, Rep. Anthony Weiner finally began considering the possibility that he may have to resign.
A source close to the congressman told the Daily News that Weiner had been adamant about keeping his seat – even as the Democratic leadership urged him to quit amid daily new revelations of reckless sexting.
But the unrelenting media coverage, the demands from his party's leaders that he step down and the appearance of more humiliating photos made Weiner realize he may not be able to bull his way through the crisis after all, the source said.
TMZ published a new slew of squirm-inducing self-portraits, apparently taken in the House gym - some clothed, some not.
Several show Weiner showing off his naked body holding only his camera and his privates. In others, he is clothed or draped in a white towel, flexing his muscles as he holds a camera up to his reflection in a locker room mirror.
TMZ said the photos were sent online to at least one woman and said the House gym venue raises new questions about his use of congressional resources for his salacious cybering.

Shortly after the photo-op meeting and “working lunch” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the one that saw President Obama openly chastised by the Prime Minister for Obama’s earlier public comments regarding wanting to see Israel return to its 1967 borders, the president verbally “went off” on Richard Daley in the private study area that adjoins the Oval Office. President Obama’s verbal attack was clearly heard by numerous staff up and down the West Wing hallways.
The essence of the president’s rage and embarrassment can best be summed up with him yelling out very loudly, “What the f-ck was that!?” That phrase was apparently repeated a number of times in the span of about five minutes, a time period in which Obama’s voice became “louder and louder” and culminating in Obama exclaiming, “Never again! Do you understand me? Never again!” Any response by Bill Daley back to the president, if given, was not overheard.
Daley was soon after seen walking slowly down the hallway back toward his own office.
He appeared “unconcerned” and was walking alone. His mood was apparently good enough that he took the time to speak briefly with some junior staffers before continuing down the hall. There was no sign of the president, though Valerie Jarrett did make an appearance on her way into the Oval Office. This was viewed as somewhat of a rare thing as Jarrett has apparently not been seen much on the lower levels of the West Wing for the last month or so. Neither she nor the president was seen for some time after that.

The emails of Sarah Palin — more than 24,000 pages of them released Friday by the state of Alaska from her first two years as governor — paint a picture of an image-conscious, driven leader, closely involved with the day-to-day duties of running the state and riding herd on the signature issues of her administration.
She angled for the vice presidential nomination months before John McCain picked her — and hinted at presidential aspirations.
The messages give a behind-the-scenes look at a politician who burst onto the national stage after serving as Wasilla mayor and less than two years as Alaska governor. They show a woman striving to balance work and home, fiercely protective of her family and highly sensitive to media coverage. She expressed a sometimes mothering side with aides but also was quick to demand answers or accountability.
They seem to depict a more moderate Palin who worked to find a state response to global warming — she has since dismissed studies supporting climate change — and gave props to then-Sen. Barack Obama for his support of a natural gas pipeline in Alaska.
The records, comprising more than 13,400 emails, shed new light on Palin's rise from little-known governor to national political sensation. The emails end in September 2008, shortly after her selection to be McCain's running mate. It was then that citizens and news organizations first requested the records.

A defiant Rep. Anthony Weiner will not resign and will instead seek treatment even as a the top leaders of the Democratic Party abandoned him en masse Saturday after it was revealed that he had communicated online with a 17-year-old Delaware girl.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the party’s top campaign chiefs — Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) — all called on Weiner to resign in statements released within minutes of each other.
But Weiner has ignored those calls and announced Saturday afternoon that he’s seeking “professional treatment.”

Weiner, a New York Democrat, admitted on Monday that he had sent sexually charged text messages and photographs to a series of six women over three years. On Friday, FOX News reported that Wilmington-area police had visited a Delaware teenager to discuss his back-and-forth with her.
Weiner and the girl’s family have told news outlets that there was no indecent communication, but the evidence that he carried on a discussion of any kind with a 17-year-old girl was clearly the final straw for Democratic leaders.

Charles Krauthammer calling the way the Mainstream Media is salivating over 24,000 pages of Sarah Palin’s emails a “disgrace.” Both The Washington Post and The New York Times are actually enlisting readers to help them dig through the emails to find dirt on Palin. They make no pretense of trying to be fair or even-handed. Even Democrat Kirsten Powers mocked what the liberal media is doing by pointing out they have discovered that Palin thought about getting a “tanning bed,” which Powers noted is important for us to know!
To this day, the liberal media has no questions about Barack Obama and his radical associations. Sarah Palin is a private citizen right now. She is not even a candidate for President. But they will do anything they can to destroy her. They already look like the biased fools that they are, and when they come up with nothing significant from those 24,000 pages, it will be confirmed.

The New York Times and the Washington Post both are begging readers to help them sift through 24,000 e mails of Sarah Palin’s from her time as governor of Alaska. Now, they’re not going to let these people into their newsrooms. They’ll have to do this from home in their pajamas. But they’re soliciting help from their readers to pore through these Palin e mails.
I don’t recall this happening when we had that e mail release from the Hadley Climate Center at the University of East Anglia that demoed the hoax — that illustrated, that foretold the hoax — that is manmade global warming there was an effort to bury those e mails. But now, the New York Times and Washington Post want their readers to help them sift through these 24,000 e mails. This is an obsession. It is an obsession — and I’ll tell you, this is all going to end up backfiring on these people.
It’s just too much.
You watch. Don’t doubt me on this.

Bannon was approached by Palin's close aide, Rebecca Mansour, with a request to make a few you tube videos explaining a number of Palin's historical accomplishments while Governor of Alaska.
But so taken was Bannon with Palin's record and leadership, he made a feature-length movie, financing it himself while keeping complete editorial control. Palin was not even interviewed for the film (he used audio from her book "Going Rogue" for continuity.)
Bannon's background is interesting. He is a former naval officer and ex-Goldman Sachs banker now filmmaker who was enormously impressed with an American patriot with frontier values from the last great American frontier.
Palin's background is blue collar. Her father was a schoolteacher who never made more than $23,000 a year. Her mom was a homemaker. Her husband is working class and she belongs to no political dynasty or any insiders clique either in the beltway or Alaska. She is us. She is the quintessential maverick, an outsider, but despite this, she beat old boy powerhouse Republican Frank Murkowski in the primary before crushing the competition in the general election to become Alaska's youngest -- and first female -- chief executive on sheer goodness and will.
And even those of us who thought we knew what champion Palin was, knew little of her monumental achievements.
The film is divided into three parts. First, how she came from nothing to battle the corrupt powers fighting against her (and the best interest of Alaskans) and achieved unprecedented success in a very short period of time despite the odds. The second part of the film shows the true leadership, natural charisma and intelligence that makes Sarah Palin uniquely qualified to inherit the Reagan mantle. Days after being mentioned by President Obama when he visited Toledo, New Chet’s Restaurant on East Manhattan Boulevard will close Sunday. The owner said he blames the economy and the smoking ban.
It figures. A week after Obama mentioned an Ohio restautant in one of his “success stories”, it goes out of business.
An Ohio restaurant mentioned last week by President Barack Obama as an indirect beneficiary of the government’s Chrysler bailout will go out of business Sunday after a more than 70-year history.
Co-owner Richard Lawrence of New Chet’s Restaurant in Toledo says business has fallen victim to the economy and the workplace smoking ban approved by Ohio voters in 2006. He told The Blade newspaper of Toledo on Wednesday that auto industry cutbacks also hurt.
Lawrence says he used to deliver up to $300 in food per week to Chrysler Group LLC’s Jeep plant in Toledo, but now that’s down to about $100 worth.

But a source told Page Six that Milla's time has come -- or possibly came months ago, explaining, "The company has left many creditors coming after her to be paid for time, service, and materials. Modeling agencies, production crews, design assistants, pattern makers, office and store landlords have all been trying to contact her office in Los Angeles and New York for months for payment."

Hartmarx Corp. who made Obama's suits filed bankruptcy.-
Chicago-based Hartmarx - which custom-made the suit President Barack Obama wore on Election Night and the suit and tuxedo he wore on Inauguration Day - filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January after creditors cut its U.S. credit lines. Primary lender, Wells Fargo, has said the company was unable to repay $114 million in loans.
Hartmarx employs more than 3,000 workers, including about 1,000 at its plants in Des Plaines and Rock Island, and makes clothes under several labels.
Phone messages left Wednesday with Emerisque and Hartmarx were not immediately returned. Wells Fargo spokeswoman Susan Stanley said the company would not comment.
Illinois lawmakers on Wednesday stepped up pressure on Wells Fargo, which received about $25 billion in federal bailout money, to make a deal to sell Hartmax. And workers renewed their vow to take over the factory if banks try to close it, much like a worker sit-in at a Chicago window factory last winter.

Anti-terror Treaty Seen as 2nd Amendment Threat
A “Small Arms Treaty” currently being considered by the United Nations could end up infringing on American Second Amendment rights. While the measure must first pass the U.N. and then manage to secure U.S. Senate ratification, it could result in firearms licensing and confiscation, University of Houston professor Larry Bell writes in an Op-Ed for Forbes.
The treaty is aimed at fighting terrorism, insurgency and international crime syndicates but “you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms,” Bell writes.
While noting the terms have yet to be made public, Bell argues the measure could force the United States to enact tougher licensing requirements, confiscate and destroy all “unauthorized” civilian firearms, ban the trade, sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons, and create an “international gun registry, clearly setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.”
“Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton has cautioned gun owners to take this initiative seriously, stating that the U.N. ‘is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there is no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control,’” Bell wrote.
He concludes, “Now, more than ever, it’s imperative to stick by our guns in demanding that all Constitutional rights be preserved. If not, we will surely lose both.”

Wisconsin Union Thugs Disrupt Special Olympics Ceremony and Blocking Athletes' View ~ Beyond Disgusting!!!!
On Wednesday June 8th, in Madison, protesters picketed and disrupted the Governor's appearance at a Special Olympics ceremony outside the State Capitol.
As the event kicked off, the University of Wisconsin marching band played and Bucky Badger danced and hammed it up with the Olympians.
Interspersed throughout the crowd were dozens of pro-union protesters.
The picketers were present throughout the event, including some holding signs with questionable language.
Then, as the Governor began to address the Special Olympians, more than a dozen protesters, dressed as Zombies, because in their eyes they are "dead" to Scott Walker, walked to the front of the crowd. They blocked the athletes' view of the Governor in an attempt to divert attention away from the Special Olympians on onto themselves.

Sen. Al Franken:"In 2 Years, Obama 'May Not Be the President'"
Sen. Al Franken, a liberal Democrat from Minnesota, suggested on Wednesday that Barack Obama may be a one-term president.
“I should note that President Obama could nominate a new director who would be there for ten years. And by extending you for two years--he is uh--in two years, he may not be the president"
He made the comment as the Senate Judiciary Committee considered President Obama’s request to extend FBI Director Robert Mueller’s ten-year term for two more years.
Franken commended Mueller for his service to the nation, but he also said that “term limits exist for a reason.” However, given a “unique set of circumstances”--including a new CIA director and a new defense secretary--Franken indicated that he could go along with a two-year extension for Mueller.

Obama and EPA Will Be Putting People Out of Work and Breaking Our Economy and Electricity Rates To Skyrocket
Coal Regs Would Kill Jobs, Boost Energy Bills
In January the Obama Administration, for the first time ever, blocked an already approved bid to build one of the largest mountaintop removal coal mines in Appalachian history.
BUT then jump to the latest.
Two new EPA pollution regulations will slam the coal industry so hard that hundreds of thousands of jobs will be lost, and electric rates will skyrocket 11 percent to over 23 percent, according to a new study based on government data.
Overall, the rules aimed at making the air cleaner could cost the coal-fired power plant industry $180 billion, warns a trade group.
“Many of these severe impacts would hit families living in states already facing serious economic challenges,” said Steve Miller, president of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. “Because of these impacts, EPA should make major changes to the proposed regulations before they are finalized,” he said.
The EPA, however, tells Whispers that the hit the industry will suffer is worth the health benefits.
The industry says the costs and potential to lose four jobs for every new clean energy job created isn’t worth the rules, especially in a job-starved economy.

Delta Airlines is apologizing to 34 U.S. Army troops who just returned from Afghanistan.
The reason? They had to pay some $2,800 in baggage fees, reports Steve Higgins of CBS affiliate WGCL in Atlanta. In a video posted on YouTube, one solider says, "Not happy, not happy at all. We had a little issue with the bags this morning."
Most of the GIs, it seems, had four bags.
Another soldier said in the video, "Delta only allows three for free in coach, "and anything over three bags, you have to pay for, even though there's a contract between the U.S. government and Delta Airlines."
The soldiers say their orders allow them to bring four bags on board -- for free.
A military spokeswoman told WGCL any extra baggage fees assessed by an airline will be reimbursed by the government, depending on the troops' orders.
Delta later issued a statement saying,
"We would like to publicly apologize for any miscommunication ... as well as any inconvenience we may have caused." The carrier promises to "reach out" to the soldiers involved to "address their concerns."
Delta's statement also said active duty military personnel are allowed to check three bags for free in coach and four in first or business class, but the posted policy on the Delta website clearly states they are allowed to check four free bags in coach and five in first or business:
In the YouTube video, one of the soldiers says his fourth bag had "a weapons case holding my grenade launcher and a 9 millimeter, the tools that I used to protect myself and the Afghan citizens while I was deployed in the country."

Community Oraganizer Obama To Bail Out Greece ~
Barack Obama on Tuesday urged European countries and bondholders to prevent a “disastrous” default by Greece and pledged U.S. support to help tackle the country’s debt crisis.
Obama, whose political prospects have suffered from persistently high unemployment and ballooning U.S. debt, has pinpointed the euro zone crisis as one foreign “headwind” hitting the U.S. economy.
After a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, he stressed the importance of German “leadership” on the issue – a hint that he expects Berlin to help – while expressing sympathy for the political difficulties European Union countries face in helping a struggling member state.
“I’m confident that Germany’s leadership, along with other key actors in Europe, will help us arrive at a path for Greece to return to growth, for this debt to become more manageable,” Obama said.
“But it’s going to require some patience and some time. And we have pledged to cooperate fully in working through these issues, both on a bilateral basis but also through international and financial institutions like the IMF.”
A proposal for a second Greek bailout package worth 80 billion to 100 billion euros over three years was taking shape, euro zone sources said.

Mexican Cartels Now Using ‘Tanks'
For the drug cartel boss who has everything, the latest piece of military hardware is the “narco tank.”
Today’s competitive crime mafias in Mexico are no longer satisfied with bazookas, rocket-propelled grenades or land mines. The Mexican military has discovered that gangsters south of Texas are building armored assault vehicles, with gun turrets, inch-thick armor plates, firing ports and bulletproof glass.
More than 35,000 Mexicans have died in four years of drug violence, and the fighting between the rival Gulf and Zeta cartels, and with the military units that chase them, has been especially vicious in the border cities and farm towns of the northern state of Tamaulipas. Just two days ago, two mutilated bodies were left hanging from a pedestrian bridge in Monterrey.
“Organized crime has increased its firepower to move personnel and mount counterattacks against the army,” said Alberto Islas, a security adviser in Mexico. “This is the consolidation of an urban guerrilla war scenario.”
The Mexican media and military call the assault vehicles “monstruos,” monster trucks. In Mexico, their appearance on the Internet has gone viral. On the front page of Reforma, a national daily newspaper, a photograph Monday of a monster truck was accompanied by the headline: “And this doesn’t look like a war?”
The Mexican army announced Sunday night that a military convoy on routine patrol raided a warehouse in Camargo, Tamaulipas, across the border from Rio Grande City, Tex., and seized two dump trucks that had been rigged with steel plates to protect gunmen.
The monsters look like a cross between a handmade assault vehicle used by a Somali warlord and something out of a post-apocalyptic “Mad Max” movie. Complete with battering rams.
The assault vehicles have appeared in several confrontations with Mexican authorities. In the western state of Jalisco, soldiers confronted one of the beasts in May and disabled it by shooting out its tires. The trucks have not been seen in the cities and remain mostly a chilling curiosity.
The popular and lurid “narco blog” Web site said the armored truck could do 60 mph and dump — James Bond style — tire-popping nails or oil slicks to slow down its pursuers.
“These behemoths indicate the ingenuity of the cartels in configuring weapons that are extremely effective in urban warfare,” said George Grayson, a professor at the College of William and Mary and a specialist in Mexico’s drug war.
The cartels are locked in a kind of arms race involving technology and techniques to keep one step ahead of authorities — and one another.
Last year authorities found an elaborate tunnel stretching more than 2,200 feet, complete with train tracks and ventilation, that was used to move marijuana between a house in the Mexican city of Tijuana and a warehouse in Otay Mesa, Calif.
On the high seas, maritime forces have intercepted dozens of “narco-submarines” hauling multi-ton loads of cocaine north. The semi-submersibles travel very low in the water to avoid detection.
With growing frequency, U.S. guards have spotted ultralight aircraft barnstorming over the border fences to drop 200-pound loads of pot in fields for waiting pickup trucks that flash their high beams or create a makeshift drop zone out of light sticks. According to U.S. officials, there have been more than 300 ultralight incursions into the United States in the past 18 months.
U.S. and Mexican border agents have found ramps, tunnels, and even a catapult that was used to lob drugs over the border fence between Mexico and Arizona.
Narco tanks might look odd, but they are further proof of a serious and deadly arms race among cartels.
Mexican soldiers last week discovered a major arsenal of weapons and ammunition in an underground bunker, probably buried by the Zeta crime organization.
The cache of 150 rifles, pistols and shotguns, 92,000 rounds of ammunition, four mortar shells and two rocket-propelled grenades was discovered at a ranch in the northern state of Coahuila, which borders the United States.

The U.S. is providing hundreds of millions of dollars of foreign aid to some of the world’s richest countries – while at the same time borrowing billions back, according to report seen by Congress.
The Congressional Research Service released the report last month which shows that in 2010 the U.S. handed out a total of $1.4bn to 16 foreign countries that held at least $10bn in Treasury securities.
Four countries in the world’s top 10 richest received foreign aid last year with China receiving $27.2m, India $126.6m, Brazil $25m, and Russia $71.5m.
Mexico also received $316.7m and Egypt $255.7m.
And yet despite the massive outgoings in foreign aid, the receiving countries hold trillions of dollars in U.S. Treasury bonds.
China is the largest holder with $1.1trillion as of March, according to the Treasury Department.
Brazil held $193.5bn, Russia $127.8bn, India $39.8bn, Mexico $28.1bn and Egypt had $15.3bn.
Foreign aid is earmarked for causes including HIV/AIDs prevention, combating weapons of mass destruction, fighting tuberculosis, and counter-terrorism efforts.
The news has caused grave concern, with Senator Tom Coburn, R-Okla, who requested the report seen by Fox News, calling the policy ‘dangerous’.

Obama Administration To Appeal Healthcare Ruling
Obama administration to appeal healthcare ruling
Lawyers for President Barack Obama will on Wednesday seek to stave off the biggest legal challenge yet to healthcare reform, his signature domestic policy achievement.
The administration will present oral arguments as it appeals a ruling by a Florida judge who declared the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional, backing claims by 26 U.S. states that are seeking repeal.
A three-judge panel at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta will hear oral arguments by both sides. While a Virginia appeals court heard a similar case in May, this case is significant because of the number of states backing it.
No ruling is expected for months and legal experts expect an appeal to the Supreme Court, regardless of which side wins.
The law aims to increase access to healthcare and slow the growth in costs. The White House views it as a cornerstone of Obama's presidency. Republicans say it will send costs soaring and represents intrusive government power especially because it mandates all individuals to buy health insurance.
They plan to make their campaign for repeal a pillar of efforts to defeat Obama at presidential elections in 2012.
"Opponents of reform claim that the law's individual responsibility provision exceeds Congress' power to regulate interstate commerce because it penalizes 'inactivity.' They are wrong," the White House said on its blog on Tuesday.
"Individuals who choose to go without health insurance are actively making an economic decision that affects all of us," it said of the provision to fine Americans who do not buy insurance, which comes into effect in 2014.
The 2010 law also allows young people to remain on their parents' health insurance into their twenties and prevents insurers from denying coverage for preexisting medical conditions.
Florida District Judge Roger Vinson ruled in January the entire law "must be declared void" because its requirement to buy insurance is unconstitutional, but put the ruling on hold pending appeal.
"The nation needs healthcare reform that's pursued constitutionally and in a way that does not harm our economy and our taxpayers," Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement.
Chief Judge Joel Dubina, Judge Frank Hull and Judge Stanley Marcus will hear the appeal. Analysts will watch their questions closely for clues as to how they might rule.
Dubina was appointed by President George H. W. Bush, a Republican, while the other two were appointed by President Bill Clinton, a Democrat.
Senior administration lawyer Neal Katyal will argue for the government, while former Solicitor General Paul Clement will present Florida's case.

Sometimes there is a line that is crossed between what appropriate for comedy and what’s likely off limits. But did comic Christopher Titus cross that line?
In an appearance on Monday’s “The Adam Carolla Show” podcast, Titus may have waded into that territory. In responding to a question about former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” in which Palin defended her interpretation of what happened during Paul Revere’s pre-Revolutionary War famous ride, Titus launched into a description of what he would do if Palin were elected.
“You know what man?” Titus said. “I am going to literally — if she gets elected president, I am going to hang out on the grassy knoll all the time, just loaded and ready — because you know what? It’s for my country. It’s for my country. If I got to sacrifice myself, it’s for my country.”

Anti-American Obama Brushed Off Congressional Demands For Report On U.S. Objectives In Libya
The White House brushed off congressional demands for a detailed report outlining U.S. objectives in Libya, a move likely to stoke further anger on Capitol Hill over President Barack Obama’s decision not to seek lawmakers’ consent for the military operation.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday that administration officials were already answering questions about Libya in briefings on Capitol Hill. A House resolution calling on Obama to provide more detailed answers was “unhelpful,” Carney added, suggesting that the administration has no plans to formally respond within the 14-day window outlined in the measure.
However, the spokesman said the White House could continue to hold regular consultations with Congress on Libya.
“We obviously take seriously our obligation to consult with Congress and to the extent that there are questions that need to be answered we will, of course, endeavor to answer them,” Carney said.
Several House members have expressed their dissatisfaction with those briefings, saying more of them won’t suffice.
On Friday, the House passed a non-binding resolution chastising Obama for failing to provide a “compelling rationale” for the Libyan mission and demanding a report “describing in detail” the operation’s objective, its costs and its impact on the nation’s two other wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Forty-five Democrats joined the Republican majority in passing the resolution.
Obama ordered air strikes in March after a U.N. resolution, and consultation with Congress has been limited. The Constitution says Congress has the power to declare war, and the 1973 War Powers Resolution requires the president to obtain congressional authorization within 60 days of the start of military operations, a deadline that passed last month.

Before Weiner could come out to the press, Andrew Breitbart was seen in the back of the room, and the press urged him to go to the podium to answer questions. Breitbart took the platform and answered several questions about the photos of Anthony Weiner he has been releasing throughout the day today – one of them showing Weiner barechested, which Weiner had allegedly sent to a woman. Breitbart said he also had a very explicit photo, which he is holding back for the sake of Weiner’s family. He said he felt Weiner owed him an apology for claiming his Twitter account was “hacked” when the first information came out from Breitbart about the scandal several days ago. Breitbart then left the podium. The video above shows Breitbart answering questions from the media.

Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Steve Israel, the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, have called for an investigation into Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) over the series of sexually explicit conversations and lewd photos he exchanged with a half-dozen women during the last several years.
“I am deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation; for Anthony’s wife, Huma, his family, his staff and his constituents,” Pelosi said in a statement released on Monday night. “I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred.”

"Look, I don’t think anybody — if 54,000 new jobs is the new standard, it’s going to be a very, very rough 2012 for President Obama,” Carville said. “But the three-month average was 160,000. If that is the case, then he will do OK. I can’t tell you what will happen. But yes, if this, if this last jobs number is an indication of future job numbers, it’s going to be very, very rough.”
“It is going to be very difficult,” Carville said. “But the country, if that is what we are doing, this is gruesome on people. This unemployment rate for this long is a humanitarian crisis of the first magnitude. This financial crisis, people have studied this by the way, they know that the things take this long to work their way through. The aftermath of these things — kind of an academic book that is dry entitled ‘This Time is Different.’ What it concluded is that it is not different this time. Remembering D-Day June 6, 1944
On June 6, 1944, a date known ever since as D-Day, a mighty armada crossed a narrow strip of sea from England to Normandy, France, and cracked the Nazi grip on western Europe.
June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. General Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which "we will accept nothing less than full victory." More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day's end on June 6, the Allies gained a foot- hold in Normandy.

All through your Army careers, you men have bitched about what you call "chicken shit drilling." That, like everything else in this Army, has a definite purpose. That purpose is alertness. Alertness must be bred into every soldier. I don't give a fuck for a man who's not always on his toes. You men are veterans or you wouldn't be here. You are ready for what's to come. A man must be alert at all times if he expects to stay alive. If you're not alert, sometime, a German son-of-an-asshole-bitch is going to sneak up behind you and beat you to death with a sockful of shit! There are four hundred neatly marked graves somewhere in Sicily, all because one man went to sleep on the job. But they are German graves, because we caught the bastard asleep before they did.
An Army is a team. It lives, sleeps, eats, and fights as a team. This individual heroic stuff is pure horse shit. The bilious bastards who write that kind of stuff for the Saturday Evening Post don't know any more about real fighting under fire than they know about fucking! We have the finest food, the finest equipment, the best spirit, and the best men in the world. Why, by God, I actually pity those poor sons-of-bitches we're going up against. By God, I do.
My men don't surrender, and I don't want to hear of any soldier under my command being captured unless he has been hit. Even if you are hit, you can still fight back. That's not just bull shit either. The kind of man that I want in my command is just like the lieutenant in Libya, who, with a Luger against his chest, jerked off his helmet, swept the gun aside with one hand, and busted the hell out of the Kraut with his helmet. Then he jumped on the gun and went out and killed another German before they knew what the hell was coming off. And, all of that time, this man had a bullet through a lung. There was a real man!
All of the real heroes are not storybook combat fighters, either. Every single man in this Army plays a vital role. Don't ever let up. Don't ever think that your job is unimportant. Every man has a job to do and he must do it. Every man is a vital link in the great chain. What if every truck driver suddenly decided that he didn't like the whine of those shells overhead, turned yellow, and jumped headlong into a ditch? The cowardly bastard could say, 'Hell, they won't miss me, just one man in thousands.' But, what if every man thought that way? Where in the hell would we be now? What would our country, our loved ones, our homes, even the world, be like? No, Goddamnit, Americans don't think like that. Every man does his job. Every man serves the whole. Every department, every unit, is important in the vast scheme of this war. The ordnance men are needed to supply the guns and machinery of war to keep us rolling. The Quartermaster is needed to bring up food and clothes because where we are going there isn't a hell of a lot to steal. Every last man on K.P. has a job to do, even the one who heats our water to keep us from getting the 'G.I. Shits.'
Each man must not think only of himself, but also of his buddy fighting beside him. We don't want yellow cowards in this Army. They should be killed off like rats. If not, they will go home after this war and breed more cowards. The brave men will breed more brave men. Kill off the Goddamned cowards and we will have a nation of brave men. One of the bravest men that I ever saw was a fellow on top of a telegraph pole in the midst of a furious fire fight in Tunisia. I stopped and asked what the hell he was doing up there at a time like that. He answered, 'Fixing the wire, Sir.' I asked, 'Isn't that a little unhealthy right about now?' He answered, 'Yes Sir, but the Goddamned wire has to be fixed.' I asked, 'Don't those planes strafing the road bother you?' And he answered, 'No, Sir, but you sure as hell do!' Now, there was a real man. A real soldier. There was a man who devoted all he had to his duty, no matter how seemingly insignificant his duty might appear at the time, no matter how great the odds.
And you should have seen those trucks on the rode to Tunisia. Those drivers were magnificent. All day and all night they rolled over those son-of-a-bitching roads, never stopping, never faltering from their course, with shells bursting all around them all of the time. We got through on good old American guts.
Many of those men drove for over forty consecutive hours. These men weren't combat men, but they were soldiers with a job to do. They did it, and in one hell of a way they did it. They were part of a team. Without team effort, without them, the fight would have been lost. All of the links in the chain pulled together and the chain became unbreakable.
Don't forget, you men don't know that I'm here. No mention of that fact is to be made in any letters. The world is not supposed to know what the hell happened to me. I'm not supposed to be commanding this Army. I'm not even supposed to be here in England. Let the first bastards to find out be the Goddamned Germans. Someday I want to see them raise up on their piss-soaked hind legs and howl, 'Jesus Christ, it's the Goddamned Third Army again and that son-of-a-fucking-bitch Patton.' We want to get the hell over there." The quicker we clean up this Goddamned mess, the quicker we can take a little jaunt against the purple pissing Japs and clean out their nest, too. Before the Goddamned Marines get all of the credit.

When a man is lying in a shell hole, if he just stays there all day, a German will get to him eventually. The hell with that idea. The hell with taking it. My men don't dig foxholes. War is a bloody, killing business. You've got to spill their blood, or they will spill yours. Rip them up the belly. Shoot them in the guts. When shells are hitting all around you and you wipe the dirt off your face and realize that instead of dirt it's the blood and guts of what once was your best friend beside you, you'll know what to do!
I don't want to get any messages saying, 'I am holding my position.' We are not holding a Goddamned thing. Let the Germans do that. We are advancing constantly and we are not interested in holding onto anything, except the enemy's balls. We are going to twist his balls and kick the living shit out of him all of the time. The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France is located on the site of the temporary American St. Laurent Cemetery, established by the U.S. First Army on June 8, 1944 and the first American cemetery on European soil in World War II. The cemetery site, at the north end of its ½ mile access road, covers 172.5 acres and contains the graves of 9,387 of our military dead, most of whom lost their lives in the D-Day landings and ensuing operations. On the Walls of the Missing in a semicircular garden on the east side of the memorial are inscribed 1,557 names. Rosettes mark the names of those since recovered and identified.

Howard Dean warns Democrats Sarah Palin could beat Obama in 2012
Howard Dean, the former Democratic National Committee chairman who helped Democrats capture the White House in 2008, warns that Sarah Palin could defeat President Obama in 2012.
Dean says his fellow Democrats should beware of inside-the-Beltway conventional wisdom that Obama would crush Palin in a general-election contest next year.
“I think she could win,” Dean told The Hill in an interview Friday. “She wouldn’t be my first choice if I were a Republican but I think she could win.”
Dean warns the sluggish economy could have more of a political impact than many Washington strategists and pundits assume.
“Any time you have a contest — particularly when unemployment is as high as it is — nobody gets a walkover,” Dean said. “Whoever the Republicans nominate, including people like Sarah Palin, whom the inside-the-Beltway crowd dismisses — my view is if you get the nomination of a major party, you can win the presidency, I don’t care what people write about you inside the Beltway,” Dean said.
Dean spoke to The Hill the same day the Labor Department revealed the national economy added only 54,000 jobs in May and the national unemployment rate had risen to 9.1 percent.
Last month the private sector created 83,000 jobs, about a third the average for the previous three months.
Dean said he doesn’t think Palin will win the GOP nomination or would have the advantage over Obama in 2012. But he warned it is dangerous for Democrats to dismiss her.
“Anybody who gets the nomination could win the presidency,” he said. “Do I think she’s going to get the nomination? No. But that process is so difficult and really tests candidates in ways that no other process can."

DOW plunges into longest weekly losing streak since 2004 as Obama blames 'Europe, earthquake and gas prices' for economic woe
The Dow Jones industrial average and the Standard & Poor's 500 index are both headed for a fifth straight week of losses - the longest losing streak for the Dow since July 2004.
The slump follows jobs data published on Friday showing employers added only 54,000 new workers in May, the fewest in eight months and well below what analysts were expecting.
The news comes as President Barack Obama today blamed high gasoline prices, the Japanese earthquake and Europe's financial crisis for economic 'headwinds' at home.
As inspiration for a broader recovery, he’s citing the American auto industry’s resurgence.
‘We’re a people who don’t give up, who do big things, who shape our own destiny,’ the president said in his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday.
Like his words to Chrysler workers, Obama’s address did not mention the bleak unemployment numbers announced Friday for the month of May. The Bureau of Labor Statistics said the economy last month created only a net 54,000 jobs and unemployment inched up to 9.1 percent.
‘We’re facing some tough headwinds,’ Obama said.
‘Lately, it’s high gas prices, the earthquake in Japan and unease about the European fiscal situation. That will happen from time to time.’

Alabama Governor Bentley will decide this weekend whether to sign into law a bill passed overwhelmingly by his legislature which prevents illegal immigrants from taking jobs in Alabama at the expense of American citizens.
Predictably, the few legislators in opposition were mostly black Democrats who have been brainwashed by the Left to identify any law which seeks to enforce LEGAL immigration as ‘racist’.
Let us take a look at the bill so as to expose the ‘racism’ claimed by the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project director Cecilia Wang, and black Democrat Senator Linda Coleman who predicts the law would lead to discrimination.
The law would prevent illegal immigrants from being in the state without a valid federal registration or other proof of legal residence. Is that racist? The law would require businesses to use the Federal E-Verify system to check legal status of new employees, make it a crime for an illegal immigrant to apply for a job, and revoke the business license of any employer caught twice knowingly hiring illegal immigrants. Is that racist? The law would make it a crime to transport or harbor illegal immigrants and prevent cities in Alabama from passing sanctuary laws to protect illegals. Is that racist? If a law officer in the course of a traffic stop finds reasonable suspicion that the driver may be in the country illegally, that driver can be detained. Is that racist?
What about this bill do Senator Coleman and the ACLU think is ‘racist’? Are they suggesting that a law which prevents illegals from taking jobs which could be had by Americans---particularly black Americans who have the highest rate of unemployment---is ‘racist’? The race card is a worn-out shoe of the Left which is pulled off the shelf whenever they need to mobilize unsuspecting minority groups to support their socialist causes.
Let us not forget that all laws by their very nature single out criminals, including illegal aliens, who violate such laws enacted to protect the interests and freedom of American citizens. America is a nation of laws.
Do black Americans want their leaders like Senator Coleman of Alabama to join the ACLU’s cause on behalf of illegal immigrants who encroach on their rights and opportunities? Does the ACLU really care one whit about blacks in Alabama? Why does ACLU have an “Immigrants’ Rights Project”? Is not that anti-American when it seeks to protect those who are here illegally?
Sadly, the vast majority of American blacks sacrificed their souls and fifty years of accomplishments to the Left by voting for Fascist Obama solely on the basis of his skin color. They will have to look beyond skin color to recognize the truth behind the socialist Left’s agenda which would just as soon have them take a proverbial ‘backseat’ to illegal immigrants and any other potential new voting blocs created by the socialist left wing of the Democrat Party in order to advance their Fascist agenda. But rest assured that no black American wants to relinquish the opportunities and liberties won through the civil rights movement in order to satisfy the Left! Just ask Republican presidential candidate and patriot Herman Cain.

'Gunsmoke' Legend James Arness Dies at 88

James Arness was severely wounded in WWII at Anzio, and his war wounds pained him ever since.
The 6-foot-7 actor, who also starred in the 1950s sci-fi classics "Them!" and "The Thing From Another World," thanks fans for their support with a posthumous letter on his website.
James Arness, the tall man who towered over TV screens for 20 seasons as the iconic Marshal Matt Dillon on CBS’ Gunsmoke, has died. He was 88.
Hollywood's Notable DeathsThe 6-foot-7 actor, who also starred in the 1950s sci-fi classics Them! and The Thing From Another World, passed away of natural causes Friday in his home in Brentwood, according to his business manager, Ginny Fazer. His death comes 14 months after his brother, Mission: Impossible actor Peter Graves, died of a heart attack at age 83.
“I had a wonderful life and was blessed with some many loving people and great friends,” he said. “I wanted to take this time to thank all of you for the many years of being a fan of Gunsmoke, The Thing, How the West Was Won and all the other fun projects I was lucky enough to have been allowed to be a part of. I had the privilege of working with so many great actors over the years.”
As the stoic Marshal Dillon, Arness kept the peace in rough and tumble Dodge City, Kan., on Gunsmoke, which aired on CBS from September 1955 to March 1975 for a total of 635 episodes. It set a record for the longest-running, live-action primetime series by seasons, since tied by NBC’s Law & Order.
Arness was born James King Aurness in Minneapolis on May 26, 1923. He served in the army during World War II, was wounded in his right leg and received the Purple Heart.
James Arness was studying at Beloit College when the war broke out. His ambition was to become a navy pilot, but his height, six feet and seven inches, disqualified him. His Anzio wounds landed him in the hospital for 18 months, and during that time he became involved with an acting group.
On the advice of Graves, Arness applied for and earned a job as an announcer for a radio station in the Twin Cities, then moved to Los Angeles and landed a role as Loretta Young’s brother in the 1947 film The Farmer's Daughter.
After starring in the title role as a thawed-out alien bent in eating humans in The Thing, he was spotted by John Wayne, who signed him to a contract with his production company, Batjac Prods. The actors worked together on such films as Big Jim McLain (1952), Island in the Sky (1953), Hondo (1953) and The Sea Chase (1955).
Wayne recommended Arness for the role of Marshal Dillon on Gunsmoke, which was coming to TV after beginning as a radio program in 1955. (The show ran on radio until 1961, with the rotund William Conrad voicing the lawman.)
“Go ahead and take it, Jim,” Wayne urged him. “You’re too big for pictures. Guys like Gregory Peck and I don’t want a big lug like you towering over us. Make your mark in television.”
Survivors include his wife Janet, sons Rolf and Jimmy and six grandchildren. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to United Cerebral Palsy.
James Arness was a Republican. I remember seeing him interviewed a few years ago. James Arness was a conservative and a class act. An era that slipped away forever.

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.
“I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that,” he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.
“It’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors.”
The former Massachusetts governor fielded questions on topics ranging from the debt ceiling to abortion on his first full day of campaigning for 2012 Republican primary nomination.
Romney leads opinion polls in New Hampshire by a wide margin, and is among the top contenders nationally to win the Republican primary.
In addressing climate change and energy policy, Romney called on the United States to break its dependence on foreign oil, and expand alternative energies including solar, wind, nuclear and clean coal.
"I love solar and wind (power) but they don't drive cars. And we're not all going to drive Chevy Volts," he said referring to electric cars.
The United States can not go it alone in attempting to trim emissions levels and give a free pass to countries such as China and Brazil, Romney said. "It's not called American warming, it's called global warming," he said.

Michelle Obama announces official visit to Africa
Michelle Obama announced Friday that she’s heading to Africa on an official visit later this month, stopping in South Africa and Botswana to continue her work encouraging young people around the world to become active in their countries.
The first lady will visit Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa and Gaborone, Botswana, during the June 21-26 trip.
Besides youth leadership, Mrs. Obama will also focus on education, health and wellness.
Officials said the visit will highlight the important stake the U.S. has in the success of Africa’s many nations, as well as the historic ties between Americans and people who live in Africa. President Barack Obama’s late father was Kenyan.
South Africa is a political leader and economic powerhouse in Africa, and an example of a successful democratic transition on the continent. Botswana has held free and fair democratic elections since gaining independence in 1966.
The trip will be the second one in which the first lady travels abroad without the president.
She will be accompanied by her daughters, Malia and Sasha, and her mother, Marian Robinson.

Obama Solicitor General: "If you don't like mandate, earn less money"
President Obama’s solicitor general, defending the national health care law on Wednesday, told a federal appeals court that Americans who didn’t like the individual mandate could always avoid it by choosing to earn less money.
Neal Kumar Katyal, the acting solicitor general, made the argument under questioning before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, which was considering an appeal by the Thomas More Law Center. (Listen to oral arguments here.) The three-judge panel, which was comprised of two Republican-appointed judges and a Democratic-appointed judge, expressed more skepticism about the government’s defense of the health care law than the Fourth Circuit panel that heard the Virginia-based Obamacare challenge last month in Richmond. The Fourth Circuit panel was made up entirely of Democrats, and two of the judges were appointed by Obama himself.
During the Sixth Circuit arguments, Judge Jeffrey Sutton, who was nominated by President George W. Bush, asked Kaytal if he could name one Supreme Court case which considered the same question as the one posed by the mandate, in which Congress used the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution as a tool to compel action.
Kaytal conceded that the Supreme Court had “never been confronted directly” with the question, but cited the Heart of Atlanta Motel case as a relevant example. In that landmark 1964 civil rights case, the Court ruled that Congress could use its Commerce Clause power to bar discrimination by private businesses such as hotels and restaurants.
“They’re in the business,” Sutton pushed back. “They’re told if you’re going to be in the business, this is what you have to do. In response to that law, they could have said, ‘We now exit the business.’ Individuals don’t have that option.”
Kaytal responded by noting that the there’s a provision in the health care law that allows people to avoid the mandate.
“If we’re going to play that game, I think that game can be played here as well, because after all, the minimum coverage provision only kicks in after people have earned a minimum amount of income,” Kaytal said. “So it’s a penalty on earning a certain amount of income and self insuring. It’s not just on self insuring on its own. So I guess one could say, just as the restaurant owner could depart the market in Heart of Atlanta Motel, someone doesn’t need to earn that much income. I think both are kind of fanciful and I think get at…”
Sutton interjected, “That wasn’t in a single speech given in Congress about this…the idea that the solution if you don’t like it is make a little less money.”

Someone posted an unfriendly sign on Sarah Palin’s tour bus earlier today. The villain’s message, pasted directly over the words, “We the People” on a picture of the Constitution, read, “I, The Media Whore.”
[the sign] was sacrilegiously placed over a monster image of the preamble to the United States Constitution for nearly 15 minutes. The bus was parked outside Fox News headquarters.

Wall Street is having a hard time figuring out what to do now that the U.S. economy appears to be sputtering and yields are so low, Peter Yastrow, market strategist for Yastrow Origer, told CNBC.
“What we’ve got right now is almost near panic going on with money managers and people who are responsible for money,” he said. “They can not find a yield and you just don’t want to be putting your money into commodities or things that are punts that might work out or they might not depending on what happens with the economy.
“We need to find real yield and real returns on these assets. You see bad data, you see Treasurys rally, you see all bonds and all fixed-income rally and then the people who are betting against the U.S. economy start getting bearish on stocks. That’s a huge mistake.”
Stocks extended losses after the manufacturing fell below expectations in May and the private sector added only 38,000 jobs during the month.
“Interest rates are amazingly low and that, thanks to Ben Bernanke, is driving everything,” Yastrow said. “We’re on the verge of a great, great depression. The [Federal Reserve] knows it.
“We have many, many homeowners that are totally underwater here and cannot get out from under. The technology frontier is limited right now. We definitely have an innovation slowdown and the economy’s gonna suffer.”

"She doesn't know any better. Only Sarah Palin would eat pizza with a fork in New York," the New York Daily News quoted Darrell Carter, an exterminator from the Bronx, as saying.
Adama Tourray, a clothing store employee from the Bronx, said he has never seen anyone eat pizza with a fork in the Big Apple before.
"It's not New York style. You got to grab it," he said.

The Commerce Department’s mission is to help make American businesses more innovative at home and more competitive abroad. But, instead of making American business more competitive Obama wants to strangle business and punish American business owners.
Obama has nominated a radical green activist as Commerce Secretary. John Bryson, is a radical green activist who thought the democrat’s cap and trade bill was “moderate.”

Sarah Palin wants to terminate all energy subsidies, including ethanol
Sarah Palin was asked Tuesday about the sticky subject of ethanol subsidies, and she said that not only they should they be squelched but that all federal energy subsidies should be eradicated.
"I think that all of our energy subsidies need to be relooked at today and eliminated," Palin told Real Clear Politics at a coffee shop in Dillsburg, Pa. "And we need to make sure that we're investing and allowing our businesses to invest in reliable energy products right now that aren't going to necessitate subsidies because, bottom line, we can't afford it."
Ever the maverick, Palin was responding was in direct opposition to Mitt Romney, who last week in Iowa, came out in favor of government subsidies for ethanol, the fuel produced from corn and other farm products.
"I support the subsidy of ethanol. I believe ethanol's an important part of our energy solution in this country," Romney told a supporter from West Des Moines on Friday.
Neither former governor has officially stated his or her intention to run for the GOP nomination for president; however, Romney is expected to throw his hat in the ring later this week.
One former governor who has committed to running is Tim Pawlenty. In fact, it was in his statement announcing his candidacy that he also backed the elimination of ethanol and other energy subsidies. Unlike Palin, however, Pawlenty wants to take it slowly.
"The truth about federal energy subsidies, including federal subsidies for ethanol, is that they have to be phased out," the former Minnesota governor Pawlenty said last week. "We need to do it gradually. We need to do it fairly. But we need to do it."
Palin believes that the markets, not the $5 billion in government incentives, should determine what path the U.S. takes in regards to energy.
“We’ve got to allow the free market to dictate what’s most efficient and economical for our nation’s economy,” Palin said. “No, at this time, our country can’t afford the subsidies. Before, though, we even start arguing about some of these domestic subsidies that need to be eliminated — should be — we need to look at ending subsidies and loans to foreign countries and their energy production that we’re relying on, like Brazil.”

Frost: I’m a supporter of the President’s. I’m concerned that he’s going to lose credibility on this oil and gas issue because he’s not telling the truth entirely. What he is saying is that you need to eliminate four billion dollars worth of tax breaks for major oil companies because major oil companies have obscene profits. The problem with this is that one of the big tax breaks that he’s citing -intangible drilling costs- excuse me -percentage depletion- was repealed by Congress, excuse me, in 1975, 36 years ago, as it affects major oil companies. The only ones that get percentage depletion anymore are domestic independents who drill most of the wells in the United States and employ four million people. Now the press doesn’t do a very good job of covering oil and gas tax issues. They don’t understand them. But if the press ever picks up that the President is not telling the truth about the depletion allowance, that it doesn’t go the major oil companies, he’s going to have additional problems, I believe, in the polls.
Palin: Again, you have to remember that President Obama, and I’m going to say this with all due respect to the office of the Presidency, he doesn’t know what he’s doing when it comes to energy. He does not know, as I just pointed out, that the four billion dollars that he thinks he’s gonna stick it to Exxon, BP, Conaco Phillips that no, it’s going to be the independent producers, the explorers that we want out there creating jobs that are going to be hit with an end of subsidy.

I agree with Sarah. There is really no such thing as subsidies, there is only forcing someone else (taxpayers) to pay for it. Drill, baby, drill is the solution!!
Based on her experience in Alaska, Sarah knows the energy business better than anyone currently in Washington--or trying to get there. This is her wheel house and she should use it to every advantage.
For far too long, progressive republicans and RINO's have used federal subsidy to grow a welfare/power base amongst corporations.
Palin was on the Judge Perino show a few weeks ago and defended the tax breaks that Obama wanted eliminated because she said that it would hurt the smaller companies that are trying to compete and basically said that Obama didn’t know what he was talking about- so she does differentiate between subsides and tax breaks—she knows the oil and gas business.

House Sends Obama Message, Rejects His Debt Increase
House Republicans dealt defeat to their own proposal for a $2.4 trillion increase in the nation's debt limit Tuesday, a political gambit designed to reinforce a demand for spending cuts to accompany any increase in government borrowing.
House overwhelmingly rejects debt limit increase, 82 Dems vote "no"
Eighty-two House Democrats joined every Republican in rejecting a bill to raise the federal debt ceiling to $16.7 trillion, and the measure failed by a vote of 97 to 318, with seven members (all Democrats) voting “present.”
The Obama administration has argued for such a “clean” vote on the debt ceiling without strings attached (such as additional legislation to reduce the debt).
Just last month, 114 Democrats signed a letter calling for a “clean” vote and Democratic Minority Whip Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., also advocated one. But today, Hoyer announced he was advising his caucus to vote against the measure. Ultimately, just 97 Democrats voted for it, with 82 explicitly voting against it (on top of the seven “present” votes). A total of 10 members (six Democrats, four Republicans) did not vote.
No doubt, this is political gamesmanship by the GOP meant to call the Democrats bluff and show that a stand-alone vote on the debt limit has no chance of passage. But it still is another demonstration that Democrats are reluctant to vote for anything that could open them up to criticism, even when it means voting for policies for which they had previously expressed support.
Last week, zero Senate Democrats voted for President Obama’s budget, which went down 0 to 97. And Democrats in the Senate still haven’t proposed their own alternative.

Gov. Scott Signs Welfare Drug Testing Into Law
TALLAHASSEE
Expect challenges to a bill signed by Governor Rick Scott which will require welfare applicants to undergo drug testing.
The bill also requires that those who apply for welfare must pay for the drug testing out of their own pockets. However, the cost would be reimbursed if the person passes the drug test.
Republicans said the measure was needed because if taxpayers are screened at their place of employment, so should welfare recipients. The drug testing bill was a priority for Scott.
“While there are certainly legitimate needs for public assistance, it is unfair for Florida taxpayers to subsidize drug addiction,” Governor Scott said. “This new law will encourage personal accountability and will help to prevent the misuse of tax dollars.”
A similar law which passed in Michigan in 1999 which required random drug testing of Welfare recipients lasted five weeks before it was stopped by a judge. An appeals court ruled it unconstitutional after a four-year legal battle.
On Tuesday, Scott also signed into law another measure that bans the designer drug MDPV or “bath salts.”
Poison control centers in Florida have reported 61 calls of “bath salts” abuse, making Florida the state with the second-highest volume of calls. The hallucinogenic substances are readily available at convenience stores, discount tobacco outlets, gas stations, pawnshops, tattoo parlors, and truck stops, among other locations.

Good for Gov. Scott. He has really been getting attacked a lot by the left and the RINO's here in Florida. But he seems to be staying strong on some important things.
Gov. Scott is doing an excellent job, but since most of his efforts have to do with dismantling the socialist leviathan that the socialists have built over the decades, they are screaming like 3-year-olds who just had their lollipop taken away.
