It is my understanding that the only time the
word collusion appears in the federal statutes,
it is a narrow definition involving antitrust
violations.
In an Ayn Rand essay, she wrote about an early
20th-century antitrust case in which Seimens
(an upstart maker of circuit breakers) alleged
that GE, Westinghouse, Furnas, and Square D
were undercutting their company.
The remedy was that the majors increased their
prices so that Seimens would be happy. Almost
instantly, another lawsuit was filed for price
fixing. The "collusion" argument could be
made in both cases!
