Ambush-Style Attack - Gunman Opens Fire Into Squad Car Injuring Cop
According to a statement by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Police responded to an Officer-Involved shooting in the area of Tropicana and Nellis Sunday.
An officer was struck by gunfire, police confirmed. The Officer is expected to survive, suffered gunshot wound to the hand. A suspect is in custody.
Police in Vegas had recently started pairing Officers together due to the ongoing ‘anti-police’ movement.
The two Officers were in a marked patrol car and were headed to the ’99 Cents Store’ to investigate a disturbance call when they stopped at a traffic signal.
That’s when the suspect approached, unprovoked, and opened fire on the Officers.
At least three rounds were fired at the officers “ambush-style,” police said.
