Gowdy Wants To Give States Power To Enforce Border Since Obama’s Federal Government Will Not
Representative Trey Gowdy (R-SC) recently proposed a brilliant bill, a well-written legislation in memory of Officer Michael Davis, who was murdered in the line of duty by a twice deported illegal immigrant with an impressive rap sheet.
Revealing the “The Michael Davis, Jr. in Honor of State and Local Law Enforcement Act” is designed to empower individual states to enforce current immigration law, since the Feds in the White House are currently looking the other way, allowing millions of illegal immigrants to pour across an unprotected southern border.
Gowdy feels that local authorities have always been in the best position to handle breakdowns along the border regions, and this bill also contains the necessary language to help equip those local authorities to get the job done right. The people of those communities want to protect their own territory, and would be able to do so without consulting some Washington official who resides far away from the troubled border regions.
In light of President Obama's obvious disregard for our borders, which is teetering on a fine line between unabashed raw negligence or outright treason in weakening National Security, Gowdy's bill is sending up a bright flare for his opponents to rally against. Because of this, that Legislation may have an unusually tough road to travel, but Rep. Gowdy isn't a pushover, but a political force to be reckoned with. Even now, Obama is actively ordering federal agents to ignore current immigration laws, allowing God knows how many cartel and jihad soldiers skip the official line at border check points.
Ever since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down key parts of an Arizona law in 2012 that sought to deter illegal immigration, the states have felt helpless when it comes to their borders along the southern United States. Trey Gowdy is looking to empower not just the border regions, but all 50 states with this new bill. Those who aren't caught along the border, but are located within any other state, local authorities will have the clout and capability to remove those criminals and send them back to their country of origin. Since a serious bulk of illegal immigrants come from countries like Honduras and Guatemala and not just Mexico, a significant number won't find it easy to skip the border again by sunrise.
In the end, it's the people who are in the field right now, looking to keep our country secure, who is being held back by the twisted policies of President Obama. Since it has been demonstrated that a single President can choose not to enforce the law at a whim, we must empower those who are willing to do the work. Thanks to Gowdy, that's now a distinct possibility.

I thought the States already have this power but too many do not use it. I could be wrong. either way I am glad Gowdy is making a point of this. He is a good man.
