The Declaration of Independence In Congress, July 4, 1776 ( a little something from the Declaration of Independence)
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain Inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

Independence Day is a uniquely American holiday, celebrating not only the formation of a new country through the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, but the birth of a new culture as well.
Across America, military and civilian families and individuals alike will typically mark the day with picnics and cookouts celebrating American cuisine, singing patriotic songs and telling stories - perhaps even playing a pick-up baseball game - before bringing the day to a close by watching the spectacular flashes and flares of fireworks.
We owe the freedom we have to do this to our Veterans, our troops today and to our Founding Fathers. At Theodore's World blog we celebrate and thank our Veterans and troops every day. And today we give ithem a special thank you from all our hearts!! ~Chrissie

One thing we won't be seeing anymore is those flyovers by B-2's and other military aircraft.
Military aircraft flyovers were always tied to training missions but with training missions curtailed, thanks to Obama, the flyovers are no more.

Wild Thing - thanks for the great Independence Day post featuring a flyby by that mighty warbird, the Cessna L19/O1 Birddog. I hope everybody remembers what this day is truely about. Lots of good Americans have bled and many died to keep our freedoms as established in the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. May America regain it's freedom again.
