Krauthammer: Obama's Pivot to Tax Issue Shows He has Surrendered on the Economy
Charles Krauthammer had an interesting take on why President Obama suddenly decided to pivot to class warfare rhetoric on the tax issue. Obama wants to extend the Bush tax cuts to people making less than $250,000 a year, but raise taxes on everyone else – hitting many of the small business owners in the country.
“I think this is a declaration by Obama – the fact that he’s now pivoted back to this old issue that he’s been touting for at least four years. It’s a declaration that he’s surrendered on the state of the economy and on the issue of his stewardship of it. This is a white flag. There’s no way he can defend it.”
