A federal court has now set the primary election here in Texas back from March 4 to April 6. That means that the candidate could be decided before we can cast our votes. The reason given was that the new district mapping(gerrymandering) was not "fair" to Hispanics. Texas gained four new House seats in the 2010 census. For decades we lived with Democratic majority gerrymandering. Now that Repubs are the majority in Texas and Repubs get to determine congressional district mapping, the Feds step in and demand that three of the four new districts be Hispanic majority. Does everyone now see why Gov. Perry is such a proponent of the Tenth Amendment!

Back in the late 70's Jimmy Carter stepped all over Texas. New natural gas reserves were found here. That was to lower our cost of ng here in Texas and provide more revenue coming into Texas from the sale of this ng to the rest of America. Carter decided that the gas should be sold to the North East at a discounted price and that Texans should pay more for our own ng. Wealth redistribution. One of the big movers in this overriding of free market capitalism was Ted "the drowner" Kennedy. Carter disliked Texas because President Ford carriede the vote here in 1976. The word "secede" is thought of very warmly here in Texas. If obama gets another four years in office to kill America, a lot of other states will probably get warm and cuddly with that word.
