Obama Sends U.S. Troops to Central Africa to Aid Campaign Against Rebel Group
Obama has sent a letter to Congress informing them that he will be sending U.S. troops to Uganda to help local forces fight rebels.
Obama is sending about 100 U.S. troops to central Africa to help local forces battle the Lord’s Resistance Army, a rebel group that the administration says has waged a campaign of murder, rape and kidnapping for more than two decades.
Obama said Friday the troops will act as advisers in efforts to hunt down rebel leader Joseph Kony but will not engage in combat except in self-defense, according to a letter to Congress that was obtained by Fox News.
The White House says the first troops arrived in Uganda on Wednesday. Ultimately, they will also deploy in South Sudan, the Central African Republic and Congo.
Obama's announcement came in low-key fashion -- a letter to the leader of the House, Speaker John Boehner, in which he said the deployment "furthers U.S. national security interests and foreign policy and will be a significant contribution toward counter-LRA efforts in central Africa."

Obama says it is it's just 100 peacekeepers.but that is how we got involved in Libya.

I have always dreaded America getting involved in any wars in sub saharan Africa. It is the most unstable area of the world, even more so than the MidEast. The pro to that is that the area is very rich in natural resources. The Chinese are heavily involved in Africa as they go after those resources. It doesn't bother the Chinese one bit to foment wars or terrorism to gain access to those resources.

If they can hunt down and kill this SOB fine!
If they are stuck in a training camp somewhere teaching UN Peace keepers about the meat grinder and what end of the gun the bullets come out of then he is wasting good troops.
If they are on a peace keeping mission under the UN then it is time to impeach Obama.
And please tell me that they can shot any reporter who complains about them shoting a fourteen year old with a RPG. That is the real danger. Turning the dimmer members of the public against the militarty because the military is killing Children armed with RPGs and automatic weapons.

Mohamed Farah Aidid and Joseph Kony same bull shit. Uganda/ Somalia what is the difference ,absolutely nothing. And the same will happen here. Clinton hung Delta and the Seals out to dry and

Why isn't Obozo sending troops to Egypt to stop the systematic beating and murder of Christian Copts? Maybe the Copts are a little too fair-skinned...
