The funny thing is that the technology has so reduced the percentage of labor in products that the difference between Kentucky and India does not exist. The Kentucky workers are productive enough to wipe out the labor difference.
All it takes for the better run states in America to out compete the rest of the world is to not have the heaviest taxes on capital in the world!
Communist Chinese have a ZERO capital gains tax rate and Barack Obama wants to raise ours.
Of course states like California, Illinois, New York, and Connecticut would still be sinking because of their state Governments. The difference is that Wisconsin and Indiana would be sucking up the jobs and the tech support people would not have to report to work at 3:00 AM in Manila.

Avatar is spot on. Our system of taxation is one of the main forces crippling our economy. The income tax was a bad idea in the 19th century when it was proposed by Karl Marx and is a horrible idea in the 21st century. Replace the income tax with the Fair Tax and watch this economy soar!
