Pro Football Writer Barry Wilner Discusses the Owners Approval of a Tentative Decade-long Agreement

Wild Thing's comment.....

He says the players have as yet to agree to this so we will see what happens.

This is really taking a long time.

This whole strike thing with the NBA and the NFL, is so bizzare, given the economic situation that exist in this Country.

Over a Million Dollar salary guaranteed, for a first year player? Think about that and compare it to entry level pay for other fields.

Granted these athletes have careers that usually last less than 5 years, Management, whether it be the teams or the leagues should set up manditory financial counseling sessioins, for these pampered superstars, so that when they can no longer play, the money is still there.

I think it is posible for an individual to live very comfortably drawing on an plan that spreads the millions of dollars earned, over 20-30 years.

Not to many years ago players in all of the Professional sports held off season jobs, to make ends meet.

It's all about GREED!
