Congressman LTC Allen West Talks About Sacrifice
The finale of a church's "Faith, Freedom and Fireworks" celebration on Sunday had the feel of a political convention, with indoor fireworks and a choir belting out "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" as red, white and blue confetti filled the air.
Fort Lauderdale’s First Baptist Church held its annual ‘Patriotic Celebration’ to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The church invited U.S. Representative Allen West to this year’s event to talk about the sacrifices the men and woman in uniform have made and continue to make as they protect out freedoms abroad. Many of you may be aware of Lt. Colonel Allen West’s own act of heroism and sacrifice when he gave up his body armor to a young soldier who lacked adequate protection during Operation Desert Storm- that particular body armor subsequently saved that soldiers life after he was shot in the chest.
The host of the event cut off Congressman West as he was about to tell the story and surprised him with someone else who could recall the story from his own personal perspective. Great video!

You're right, he is a Godsend.
Neither the media or the Democrats,know how to go after this man.
In today's PC environment, how do you go after a Black man who not only served in the military, but served with distinction? Add to that the fact that he was/is a Marine.(Semper Fi). That is one unbeatable combination. The very anthesis of John Kerry.
If the elitists in the Republican leadership don't get off their dead asses,and start promoting the likes of the Lt. Col., and others, as being representative of what the Republican Party stands for, or should stand for, they are missing the boat, and will go down in 2012.
Lt. Col West among others represents and is fighting to preserve what the majority of Americans want and expect for this Great Nation.
Because of them we still have hope.
