Obama Speaking To U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division Confuses Medal of Honor Recipients ~Our Troops Deserve So Much Better Then CIC Obama
Barack Obama during remarks to the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division, wrongly saying he awarded the Medal of Honor to Jared Monti in person rather than posthumously:
“I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”
.
However, Jared Monti was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 21, 2006. He was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously, September 17, 2009, by Obama:
.
Obama awarded the Medal of Honor in person to Salvatore Giunta in November 2010:
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney clarified Obama’s remarks, admitting that Obama “misspoke”:
“At Fort Drum, the President misspoke when discussing the first Medal of Honor he presented posthumously to Jared Monti, who was a member of the 10th Mountain Division. The President paid tribute to Monti in his remarks to troops in Afghanistan in March 2010. Last year, the President presented the Medal of Honor to Salvatore Giunta, who was the first living recipient of the Medal who served in Afghanistan.”
.
Wild Thing's comment.......
I swear to God, IF Obama cared at all about our troops he would not make this mistake! His going through the motions is all it is.
SSgt. Salvatore Guinta was awarded only recently and he was alive!
Obama is a disgusting waste of human flesh!

That's what happens why you leave the teleprompter home.
If any other president would have done that, including Clinton, the media would have been all over it 24/7 but on the blogs this morning was the first I heard of it. They're still raking Dan Quaile over the coals about "potato" and it wasn't him that misspelled it, it was the teacher.

How could he screw that up, he is so self absorded he thinks of nothing but himself. What about the family of that Soldier. That has got to be a curshing blow to them. He doesn't even know what he's talking about.
What a complete Asshole.

How many times was this electoral abortion dropped on his head? When you are speaking on the memory of a person, and to a group of people who are so much your superior, you should take a few seconds to check your facts!

We already know his management talents ara as lacking as his Command training. I doubt his work ethic too. We are just going to have to survive this next year.
A guy named Steve Cain has done some work on an Insolvency Indez that American Thinker Published this weeek check it out. As an engineer it looks bad.

Avitar,
That's an excellent read on the "Insolvency Index" by Steve McCann in American Thinker:
http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/06/new_key_number_the_solvency_index.html
There is much to be said about the virtues of solvency.
In evaluating the real wealth of a nation, there is a definitive correlation between the truth wealth and expanding growth of a nation, its gainful employment and its underlying solvency; just as the real and true wealth or value of a company is evaluated in its underlying solvency.
Thank you for pointing this out, Avitar.
