Democrat Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY): President Obama ‘Becoming an Absolute Monarch’
During a passionate speech today on the House floor, Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) delivered some surprising remarks while pushing for the House to vote for a measure stripping funding from the war in Libya. According to him, Obama is starting to resemble an “absolute monarch.”
“We have been sliding for 70 years to a situation where Congress has nothing to do with the decision about whether to go to war or not, and the president is becoming an absolute monarch,” he said. “And we must put a stop to that right now, if we don’t want to become an empire instead of a republic.”
“I think that the nation’s credibility, that is to say its promise to go to war as backed by the president, not by the Congress, ought to be damaged,” he added.
“And if foreign countries learn that they cannot depend on American military intervention unless Congress is aboard for the ride, good. That’s a good thing.”

Dictator is more like it. But I will be happy Nadler said even this much. You know it is BAD when he is scaring his own party……..and one in NY at that! But we need to be careful, he is still a dem and we know his history. He is concerned with his own party and his next election. I bet there’s a lot of “in-fighting” going on among the Dems/WH…a big mess and scared to death of losing in 2012. Probably a lot of them that don’t want Obama to run – want someone else since he’s becoming increasingly unpopular. Of course he‘s right in what he says but it doesn’t mean he really means it or cares.

It is important to note here, that Rep. Nadler and others like him, are only taking this stance in this case, the reason being, of course, they have had some power taken from them.
As far as allof the entitlements, Obamacare, Stimulus Packages, and the rest of Obama's agenda, they fall into lockstep.

Sean, your right and good point too. They only did not like not having the power.
