Gov. Jindal Will Sign 'birther' Bill If It Reaches His Desk
Gov. Bobby Jindal would sign a bill requiring presidential candidates to provide a copy of their birth certificate to qualify for the Louisiana ballot if it reaches his desk, a spokesman said Monday.
“It’s not part of our package, but if the Legislature passes it we’ll sign it,” press secretary Kyle Plotkin said.
House Bill 561 was filed last week by two Republican lawmakers. President Barack Obama’s citizenship has been challenged by some groups, derisively called “birthers,” despite numerous independent investigations finding that documents and contemporary news reports show that Obama was born in Hawaii.
The bill by state Rep. Alan Seabaugh, R-Shreveport, and Sen. A.G. Crowe, R-Slidell, would require federal candidates who want to appear on Louisiana ballots to file an affidavit attesting to their citizenship, which would have to be accompanied by an “original or certified copy” of their birth certificate.
The requirement also would apply to candidates for U.S. Senate or the House of Representatives.

I hope it does get to his desk, I bet Gov. Jindal is still ticked at obama for the NON drilling for oil. obama is totally at fault for the pirce of gas, the lost jobs connected to drilling and Jindal knows it.

Finally a man of character and a spine.

Mark, it looks like the Repubs are starting to get more members with character and spine. They are mostly younger and newer, but it seems the public is voting in better people. Think Michele Bachman, Govs. Jindal, Walker and Perry, the states AGs that challenged obamacare, Sarah Palin and Allen West and the Tea Party freshmen. Many many others are coming up in local politics. I think our greatest priority right now is to clean out the Rinos in the Repub party. Of course voting out mullah obama is still issue #1, but I can visualize it actually happening. I hope he gets a tough opponent or two in his primary that seriously wounds his campaign.

Any of you read Bobby's book LEADERSHIP AND CRISES? I recommend it (I got it from the library, if you don;t want to drop the cash).
I think many will agree he's been underestimated ever since the reply to the state of the union which he candidly admits he blew (and blames in part on using a Teleprompter). Conservatives are looking for leadership which to me means not only adherence to principles we share, but also the experience to put them to use. Check out Bobby's resume.

Now if Jindal can talk James Carvel, who is really mad about Obama leaving Lousiana out in the cold last year during the oil spill, into running against Obama the only thing bad is that Carvel could win the whole thing
