Wisconsin Senate Passes Unioin Bill ~ Democrats MIA
The Wisconsin Senate passed their union tonight 18-1.
The Senate democrats were still hiding in Illinois when the bill was passed.
The outraged leftists are pounding on the chamber door – they’re honking their horns outside the capitol building.
Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate voted Wednesday night to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from public workers after discovering a way to bypass the chamber’s missing Democrats.
All 14 Senate Democrats fled to Illinois nearly three weeks ago, preventing the chamber from having enough members present to consider Gov. Scott Walker’s so-called “budget repair bill” – a proposal introduced to plug a $137 million budget shortfall.
The Senate requires a quorum to take up any measures that spend money. But Republicans on Wednesday split from the legislation the proposal to curtail union rights, which spends no money, and a special conference committee of state lawmakers approved the bill a short time later.
Governor Scott Walker praised Republicans
Walker said: “In order to move the state forward, I applaud the Legislature’s action today to stand up to the status quo and take a step in the right direction to balance the budget and reform government.”
“The Senate Democrats have had three weeks to debate this bill and were offered repeated opportunities to come home, which they refused. In order to move the state forward, I applaud the Legislature’s action today to stand up to the status quo and take a step in the right direction to balance the budget and reform government. The action today will help ensure Wisconsin has a business climate that allows the private sector to create 250,000 new jobs.”

They needed a quorum of 20 to pass financial bills so they stripped all financial/budgetary portions.

Gov Walker and the Senate GOP bent over backwards to get the rats to return. They were obviously not planning to return any time soon so the GOP said..."TIMES UP" and made the necessary changes to move ahead without needing the rats to be present.
Democrats have nothing to complain about but they will of course and they will lie as they always do. They had their chance to be present and accounted for which they preferred to run off to Illinois.
Americans will save this country yet! To hell with the commie ‘RATS. We love our country and will not let them destroy it!

From what I read, they don't need a quorum for anything that does not involve the allocation of finances. And this meddling by obamna in Wisconsin State affairs is going to come back and bite obama in the ass.
They can whine all they want their Senators chose to run-away and hide while others did their jobs. Thats their problem. That was a huge mistake. Now the republicans have the momentum in their favor and this will lead the way for other states to do the same. I will bet when this happened obama almost through an embolism. Hehehehehe

The Wisconsin Democrat Senators are going bonkers because the Republicans did this by a "back door" method. These cowardly Senators hid out for three weeks and now they're making charges that Democracy has been stolen. They're the ones who stayed away and didn't do their jobs and now they're crying in their milk.

The Wisconsin senate majority Repubs are just doing what the US Senate majority Dems are doing. Passing legislation. At least in the US Senate the Repubs aren't running away and hiding.
