Group requests permission to distribute Qur’an in public schools
A Muslim organization has applied to the Waterloo Region District School Board to send a copy of the Qur’an home with any Grade 5 student whose parents indicate they would like one.
A representative of the Islamic Information Center at the University of Waterloo approached the former chair of the board, Kitchener trustee Mike Ramsay, with the request about a month ago.
Ramsay said he made sure that the group got all the information it required to make the written application.
“That particular request will come before the Board in the fall of 2011 for approval of distribution of the Qur’an in the 2011-12 school year,” said the board’s education director, Linda Fabi, in an email.
Fabi couldn’t be reached for comment Friday, and neither could the Muslim representative who spoke to Ramsay.

Do NOT do this and God help us if they suggest it in our country. With obama at the helm and so many wanting to make nice with Islam it could happen here.

I wonder if these are abridged or doctored Qurans that have the inflammatory, anti non muslim rhetoric left out. From what I understand from people who have actually read parts of the quoran, it is very violent and hateful in much of it's content. I don't see the muslims actually showing Westerners their real vile and hateful Quran.

I don't see any mention of sending Bibles home with the kids, I wonder why that is. After all fair is fair.

Just a year before he died at age 90, the great American novelist James Michener (who wrote those very long fictional but historically correct, well researched novels: Tales of the South Pacific, Hawaii, Chesapeake, Texas, Centennial, Alaska), took the time to write a relatively short non fiction book, "This Noble Land: My Vision for America".
I remember it as a good read.
On the very first page he wrote about the one room schoolhouse he went to as a kid and how there were Holy Bibles there.
I can't find my copy of the book right now, but when I do I will share that first page as he writes quite poignantly and speaks well to this very subject.
Today, we have so sadly lost so many of our young people to the academia left and the teachers' unions.

Tom, that is a good question. If they leave them as they are then all the hate has to be in their too and how to kill non muslims etc.
