UPDATE: 911 Tapes Released in Mexican Pirate Attack in TX Boundary Waters
David Michael Hartley, 30, of Colorado, was gunned down in Mexican waters on Thursday while his wife, Tiffany, dodged bullets and raced her Jet Ski back to American soil.
FOX News
Sportsmen in southern Texas have been pulling bass and catfish from Falcon Lake for more than half a century. A 60-miles-long "big fishing paradise" that straddles the U.S.-Mexican border, it is also a hotspot for bird-watchers, providing glimpses of species like the black-chinned hummingbird and the red-bellied woodpecker.
But now the suspected murder of a Colorado tourist, who is said to have been shot in the head as he operated a Jet Ski on international waters last week, has prompted Texas officials to renew warnings about another species that inhabits Falcon Lake -- Mexican pirates.
Search teams continued to scour the U.S. side of Falcon Lake on Monday for the body of David Michael Hartley, 30, whose wife told police he was shot in the head Thursday after they were ambushed by two boatloads of armed men. Authorities say Hartley was shot while he and his wife, Tiffany, were riding their watercraft on the Mexican side of the lake. Tiffany Hartley, 29, managed to escape the gunfire and return to the shore on the American side of the lake.

Update: 911 Tapes Released in Mexican Pirate Attack in TX Boundary Waters
The 911 call of a frantic wife whose husband was shot in the head while fleeing from Mexican pirates has been released. David and Tiffany Hartley came under attack while jet skiing on a Texas lake that is split between U.S. and Mexican territory. David’s body has not yet been recovered:
A partial transcript of the call from KRGV-TV:
Dispatcher: Hello? Ma’am? Yes. Okay. Are you sure that your husband got shot?
Tiffany: Yes. In his head.
Dispatcher: Okay. Yeah. Was he thrown out of the jet ski that he’s in the water or something?
Tiffany: He was thrown off the jet ski and I couldn’t pick him up to get him on mine. (sobbing)
Oh God.
Dispatcher: Ma’am? Were you shot at on the Mexican side or on the US side? So it was the Mexican Side. Okay, did you see anybody?
Tiffany: There were three boats.
State Rep. Aaron Pena, a south Texas lawmaker was briefed on the pirates earlier this year, and emphasized that it has become dangerous enough that Americans should stay off the lake altogether.
"I wouldn't do it," Pena said. "When I go out there I have all the protection Texas can provide. But the average fisherman doesn't have that."
Pena said he has no doubts the pirates are working with Mexico's drug gangsters. The cartels that control the area wouldn't let the pirates operate otherwise, he said.
Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez said he had contacted the Mexican consulate to ask them to search for Hartley on its side of the lake.

Wild Thing's comment........
Pena stated that the lake is too dangerous and Americans shouldn’t go out there at all. So, if Texas gets too “dangerous” should all Texans move? At one point do they fly a “white” flag? This is absolutely infuriating that Americans are gunned down and Obama refuses to do anything.
Post from last Saturday about this. I am glad there are updates to this and more information from FOX.

We can't go to parks in Arizona and now lakes in Texas. The Federal govt continues to fail to secure our border. This is not just the obama administration but the previous many administrations as well. Bush threw money gifts around on his Latin America tour like it was unlimited. obama spends hundreds of millions to import Hamas Palestinian "refugees". But neither spent enough to secure our border. Now America is overwhemed with illegal aliens and the cost and crimes are coming into America with them. The politicians only answer is amnesty. If we can avoid amnesty for two more years maybe we can vote in a president that really will secure the borders.

This situation has gotten way out of hand.
In all of the States that border with Mexico, we read and hear of incidents involving American Citizens being attacked by bandits, drug runners, and in some cases members of the Mexican Militia and Military. Yet our politically correct Government agencies turn their back.
We have a Border Patrol that is understaffed, and receives no support from the Federal Government, regarding their attempts to protect our border and enforce the law. Remember the two agents that were sent to prison for killing a Illegal Immigrant Drug Runner on American soil? Remember how the Federal Government refused to step in.
Our Federal Government is absolutly useless, as far as getting anything done on this issue. Other than issue warnings or put up warning signs, 'not to go there'.
The economies of some of the border states are suffering due to the influx of Illegal Immigrants. The Legislators in my state of California, do not seem to understand, or maybe they don't want to understand, that the cessation of all benefit payments, in all areas, to Illegal Immigrants would go a long way to solving the "Budget Crisis."
The neighboring State of Arizona is catching hell from the Feds for having passed a law adressing the same issue. That alone tells you where the Federal Government stands.

It's time to come out and say that Mexico has entered into a state of anarchy. I've read that the impunity rate is some 95-97%. In other words, if you commit a crime in Mexico, there's a less than 5% chance you will have justice dealt to you.
Tight border security will keep the crap on the south side. I would think the Coast Guard would have a presence on that lake. This tragedy was avoidable. And to do nothing insures that it will happen again.
