SB1070 Protesters Get 'disobedience' training For The Day The Law Goes Into Effect

FOX News Phoenix

PHOENIX - Assuming a judge doesn't step in, we're less than a week away from Arizona's immigration law going into effect.

As the tough immigration law takes effect, organizers are calling for a day of "non-compliance" - meaning there will likely be a number of arrests during next week's protests - and now training is being offered to protesters.

Isaac Martin is a local activist who's putting on a training class for people who want to protest the immigration law. He won't talk about specific tactics, but Martin says he'll prepare demonstrators for the possibility of being arrested.

"There are various types of non-violent direct actions that have no risk as far as legal arrests, but when you're talking about civil disobedience, that's when you understand there is a risk," Martin says.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix police department is calling in extra officers and getting ready to handle large immigration protests.

‎"Sellout". "Traitor to your race". Jesse Hernandez of the Arizona Latino Republican Association has been called those and worse. But he is standing tall and supporting SB1070. More and more patriotic Latino voices are coming out without fear to support the rule of law.

Wild Thing's comment......

If Republicans did this, the Left would be screaming “Nazis” “Brown Shirts” “Hitler”, “Fascism”, etc.

With only 5 days remaining until 1070 takes effect, it's critical importance to the entire nation is made ever more clear by the panicked response of the opposition.

"There are various types of non-violent direct actions that have no risk as far as legal arrests, but when you're talking about civil disobedience, that's when you understand there is a risk," Martin says.

I bet that is right out of the 60's radicals playbook.

Joe Arpaio will be glad to deal with the punks and illegals, and has plenty of room in tent city for them.

There's a picture of Sheriff Joe standing by Tent City, a sign says,"Vacancy" then at the bottom, it says, "We'll leave the light on for Ya."

Really a lot of nerve the President leading a protest to break the law. This has to be grounds for impeachment. Minimum. The son of a bitch won't enforce the law and sue's Arizona for doing his job. The lazy bastard.

Students protesting something. What's new!!

I think Jan Brewer and her fellow Arizonans are quite courageous in taking a stand against the flood of illegals and the damned Federal hierarchy that does little to address the issue.

Mark, I love that picture you mentioned of Sheriff Joe.

Tom, I agree, Gov. Brewer is someone I really admire.
