More Radical Communist Friends Of Obama, This One To Head Medicare & Medicaid
Barack Obama used a recess appointment today to name rationing advocate Donald Berwick to become the director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The office oversees government health care programs and that worries pro-life advocates because Berwick has praised British programs that ration care.
An excerpt from a 2008 speech by Donald Berwick, President Obama's nominee to head the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, speaking to a British audience about why he favors government-run health care.
Berwick also published an article in 2008 to warning the Brits about free market forces.
CNS News reported:
The article, published in the July 26, 2008 issue of the BMJ, compared the U.S. health care system unfavorably to the British system, which Berwick said he was “romantic about.”
The article included a list of 10 suggestions for Britain’s National Health Service (NHS). One of these suggestions was:
“Please don’t put your faith in market forces [emphasis in original]. It’s a popular idea: that Adam Smith’s invisible hand would do a better job of designing care than leaders with plans can. I find little evidence that market forces relying on consumers choosing among an array of products, with competitors fighting it out, leads to the healthcare system you want and need. In the U.S., competition is a major reason for our duplicative, supply driven, fragmented care system.”

Wild Thing'a comment.......
Just one more person to fill his communists party. All
In his speech, Berwick said that income and wealth will have to be re-distributed from the “more fortunate” to the poor, since the poor tend to be sicker, according to Berwick. In other words, another communist, just like Obama.
Obama and his administration are playing politics with every aspect of American life and society:
A justice department that won’t prosecute an obvious voting rights violation because of race;
A space agency that is planning on hitching rides with the Russians, while focusing on making ‘Muslims feel good about themselves’;
A health care bill rammed through with backroom deals that is a direct attempt to eradicate private practice and make government slaves of medical professionals, while subjecting patients to the whims and ideological biases of an academic who wasn’t even vetted by the Senate.
It goes on and on.

Berwick will accelerate the process to socialized medicine:
By sidestepping the confirmation process, the White House also avoided a messy public debate over Berwick's fanatical support for "death panels" and rationing.
"Death Panels" that obama vehemently denied are here and to stay. Rationing is this guys bailywhick.
Under Senate rules, the majority controls the committees. So it's the Democrats--not Republicans--who decide when to hold hearings and schedule votes. They refused to do either, which should indicate just how offensive this nominee is. FRC has fought his appointment since the White House originally floated his name. As the head of CMS, Berwick will be in charge of almost a trillion dollars in benefits, not including the massive expansions of Medicaid under the new health care law.
This is the Nazi system with an American Socialist twist. They have already limited services to Special Needs Children.
This man is Dr. Mengele personnified.

Yep, this bastard is a gruesome communist. As Mark states, he strongly favors medical rationing. That means all people over a govt set age will be expendable. Of course he plans on being a member of the elite who will have their own separate, tax payer provided, private health care system. Marxism at work!

Why do socialists always talk about "redistribution" when it should be about bringing the bottom up? Tearing down the better-off just makes everyone equally poor. Oh, wait, it's more fun to be generous with other people's money than to actually work to make the poor better off on their own. Only a left/libtard would think cutting a budget and rationing care reduces healthcare costs-- people died, but it was cost-effective!

Is there no bottom to the company that this President keeps?

No, Avitar, there is no bottom. It's a hellish black hole they in Washington are digging us into presently.
Donald Berwick is the latest, and just another, in the slimy slew of elitist central planners right out of post World War II Eastern Europe that have been assembled in Washington by the greatest threat to our Republic and our freedom in modern time; arrogant collectivist fellow travelers who think they know better, and how everyone should be born or not, live and die, as they seek a life of ration for all of us.
A member of the Blame America First Crowd, not an American Citizen, but a Citizen of the World that extolls the public sector as "...a maddening majestic machinery of politics", while trashing the private sector as "immoral, the invisible hand of the market, and the darkness of private enterprise".
Yeah, right.
This an a hole of the first degree who has it coming out of both ends.
Donald Berwick thinks everything comes from comfortably seated committees rationing food, health care and every form of human subsistence.
When truth be told, Americans do not share in this collectivist ideology. Americans know that our prosperity comes from the private sector. The private sector provides for everything and everyone, including the public sector and this shameless, lousy product of Harvard.
Donald. Berwick.
Despicable. Vile. Loathsome. Abhorrent. Detestable. Contemptible. Lowdown. Rotten. Scurvy. Bottom of the Barrel.
Deserving of contempt and yes, hatred.
Recess appointment.
Where is the outrage ?
Write. Stand up. Speak out.
Here's something nice and inspirational, "I Am America" from Krista Branch to ease and cleanse from this unsavoriness:
