Primaries Yesterday Rand Paul Takes Kentucky – Sestak Beats Specter – Burns Concedes
Rand Paul: We Have Come To Take Our Government Back
ARLEN SPECTER GOES DOWN TO ANTIWAR LIB DEM SESTAK in Pennsylvania
Political novice Rand Paul rode support from tea party activists to a rout in Kentucky’s Republican Senate primary Tuesday night, jolting the GOP establishment. Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter lost his struggle for political survival in Pennsylvania, a five-term incumbent offering experience to voters clamoring for change.
Another Democratic incumbent, Sen. Blanche Lincoln, led narrowly in early returns in her race for nomination to a third term in Arkansas, but she risked being thrown into a costly run-off.
Sestak will face former GOP Rep. Pat Toomey in the fall in what expected to be a hotly contested race.
Elsewhere, Kentucky Republicans chose Paul — the son of Texas Rep. Ron Paul, whose 2008 presidential candidacy sparked legions of followers — as their nominee for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Republican Sen. Jim Bunning. Tea party activists lifted Paul to victory over Secretary of State Trey Grayson, who was the favored candidate of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Celebrating his triumph, Paul — a 47-year-old eye surgeon making his first run for office — said, "I have a message, a message from the tea party, a message that is loud and clear and does not mince words: We have come to take our government back."
Tim Burns concedes in Pennsylvania 12 Special Election (Murtha's District)
Tim's race was difficult to win. The Dems outnumber the GOP in this district that belonged to vile Murtha.
Murtha died 2-8-10 and had been in office since 1974. There wasn’t a lot of time to build a good GOP political machine .
It had to be hard to overcome the Democrat machine, especially on relatively short notice. Let us hope they do better by November.
David Madeira run for Congress did not win. He is such a good man, I feel really badly about this one.
Democrat Christopher Carney in PA’s 10th Congressional Race
In unofficial results, with complete reports not in from five counties, Marino secured 22,848 votes, Madeira tallied 16,989 and Derk had 15,908.

The best thing about Specter loosing is neither the Democrats or Republicans will want him. He betrayed his party, not for principal but in hopes of being reelected. He is the worse kind of turncoat.

First off, that special election in the 12th was not widely known it was not publicised, maybe they did in Pittsburgh but no known throughout the state.
But Tim Burns a relative new comer has won the primary and will face Critz again in November for a full two year term.
Mark Critz is a Clinton/Kenyan clone and Clinton even came to 12th to campaign for him. He's a former congressional aide and campaigned on Conservative values, especially Abortion and Gun Control another Stupak until he gets paid off by obama. In other words he tried to co-opt the Burns issues. But the bottom line Burns only lost by 10,000 votes, it may sound like a lot but they can be over come. And there are still the 20,000 votes cast for Russel. That should go now to Burns.
In my district the 10th my guy lost came in second and was beat by Tom Morino, so that will be a wait and see race.
Spectre got what he deserved and that is beat. Governor Rendell said this morning, he knew Spector was going to lose, he is another one we can't wait to get rid of.
However, our Senator in waiting Pat Toomey won in a 6-1 landslide and hopefully that will carry through to the election. Sistak the winner of The spector race is a liberal anti-war, anti-American candidate with majority of his support from Philadelphia.
Unlike last time Toomey should get endorsed by the RNC they threw Toomey under the bus for Spector so maybe now they will support the real candidate.

Given how "Blue Doggy" and "Boll Weevily" Mr. Critz (Burns' opponent) presented himself, and given how skewed and gerrymandered this district is, this isn't really that bad a loss. Burns did incredibly well in spite of a deck stacked against him.

That is true. Another opinion I read was the democrats wanted to get rid of Spector and showed up en mass about a 1.08 million voters and shoved spector out of the door. But Burns will be back in November to run against Critz, the boy wonder and we will see then what the results are. Should be interesting and fun to watch Critz having to cut his congressional career short.

Thank you so much for all of your input about yesterday.
GREAT input!!!!!
I feel pretty good about it, just a few of them were a disappointment. But little by little there are changes that will be made especially in November.
