Napolitano: Administration 'certainly considering' possibility of terrorism in car bomb
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday morning that the administration is "certainly considering" that the car bomb found in New York's Times Square could be an act of terror.
"Luckily, no one is hurt, and now the full attention of city, state and federal law enforcement will be turned to bringing the guilty party to justice in this act of terrorism," New York Gov. David Paterson said in a statement.
When asked about Paterson's characterization of the incident, in which a T-shirt vendor noticed smoke coming from the back of an SUV and notified police, Napolitano said forensic evidence plus video footage from the area was being analyzed.
"We're certainly considering it now that it could be an act of terrorism or was intended to be an act of terrorism," Napolitano said on "Fox News Sunday."
Napolitano said they were "not ruling anything out."
On ABC's "This Week," Napolitano indicated that officials see it as an isolated incident.
"Right now, we have no evidence that it is anything other than a one-off, but we are alerting state, local officials around the country, letting them know what is going on," she said.
Napolitano said there wasn't an indication that New Yorkers should be too alarmed.
"Times Square I think is now safe, and I believe that right now, we have no information other than it is a one-off," she said. "But nonetheless, we are alerting state and local law enforcement, everybody to be on their toes."

Well, that's just plain being mean-spirited and hateful to think that. ( rolling my eyes) Can’t putting anything over on this woman, can you? I’m glad she’s on top of it. I feel much safer now.
I guess she just hasn’t figured out how to blame the tea party yet.

Of course it was terrorism. The only question is who were the perpetrators. Anyone who cannot decide whether an act like this is “terrorism” until they know who the perpetrator is, is “politicizing” terrorism
Why isn’t she home making cookies or something . THIS is what I have protecting my life from terrorists????
I want a former military, former Marine, Special Forces, a Navy Seal, Army, Air Force, Navy Veteran, a CIA type. I want a guy watching over me .......NOT some woman that KICKS STARTS her vibrator!!

According to drudge, it is a terrorist attack or at least an attempt. So everybody seems to know it was an attempted Terrorist Attack by I-s-l-a-m-i-c Jihadist whackos, not the moderate ones though. Everybody seems to know this except the obama regime, coincidence, I think not.

I love it when events like this and the Christmas Day Airline Bomber's are referred to as "isolated incidents", and "We are considering the point, that there may be terrorism involved."
Well, yeah. The two planes flying into the towers on 9-11 was an isolated incident also.
President Bush had it right. We are at war with the terrorists. This administration refuses to recognize that fact.
Janet Napolitano is the classic example of a Political Appointee who has no clue, and is in far above her head.
We are being led by a bunch of morons, and Janet Napolitano is right in the front of the line.

Sorry, W.T. but I will not touch your "kick start" remark. However Ms. Napolitano reminds me of more than one girl's phys-ed teacher/girl's basketball coach that I have encountered during my life. (Just sayin') Call the Times Square near-miss another isolated incident with "possible" terror connections. Why can't she blame the "tea baggers" ? After all, arent't most tea-baggers male caucasians in their 40's recently returned from an extended visit to "PAH-KEE-STAHN" (pronounced Bupkistan) ? I hear that it is lovely there this time of year. Best of all folks,Ms. Napolitano could be on the short list for the Supreme Court Justice nomination!!! Did I really hear that or was I "tripping" ?
