Report: Iran Missile Could Hit U.S. by 2015
Iran could soon be capable of hitting the U.S. with a long range missle. A report by the Defense Department estimates Iran could have such a weapon by 2015.
"With sufficient foreign assistance, Iran could probably develop and test an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the United States by 2015," said the April report, a copy of which was obtained by Reuters.
The report also shows Iran is smuggling weapons to insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan and providing support to Hezbollah and Hamas.
"Iran, through its long-standing relationship with Lebanese (Hezbollah), maintains a capability to strike Israel directly and threatens Israeli and U.S. interests worldwide," the report said.

Iran may be able to build a missile capable of striking the United States by 2015, according to an unclassified Defense Department report on Iran's military sent to Congress and released on Monday. The timing of advances in Iran's long-range missile technology is being closely watched in Washington, which accuses Tehran of pursuing nuclear weapons and is pushing for a new round of sanctions. Iran denies the charges and says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes. "Iran's nuclear program and its willingness to keep open the possibility of developing nuclear weapons is a central part of its deterrent strategy," the report said.

The report also included an assessment of Iran's broader military capabilities and support for insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as groups like Hamas in the Palestinian territories and Hezbollah in Lebanon. With Iranian support, Hezbollah has replenished its arsenal beyond levels it had in the 2006 war with Israel, the report said, without offering specifics. "Iran, through its long-standing relationship with Lebanese (Hezbollah), maintains a capability to strike Israel directly and threatens Israeli and U.S. interests worldwide," it said. The report cited recently uncovered caches of weapons that Iran's Qods Force gave to Afghan militants. They contained "large amounts of Iranian-manufactured weapons," including 107 mm rockets. It estimated the size of Iran's "Ground Force" at 220,000 personnel and the Revolutionary Guard Corps's "Ground Resistance Forces" at 130,000 personnel. It said Iran had between 1,800 and 1,900 tanks.

Charles is right, and Obama is disarming us little by little for all kinds of threats not only from Iran.
The Democrats insist that an antimissile defense system isn't necessary.
We don't need to worry about a strike from Iran to our country, Obama willl just write another one of his strongly worded letters to prevent a catastrophe.

Israel is going to hit Iran because they know Obama is not on their side. It's a sad affair. They know they are going to have to go at it alone. This is a far cry from the cold war, this is a "reality" that the Obama administration refuses to see. I love Charles. I remember reading the Tommy Frank's book. I recall him saying that Saddam had WMD's as a disassembled gun. He had all the parts to make it real.. President Bush had it right all along. History, will reveal all of this in time as long as time doesn't stand still for all of us.

Admiral Mullen wouldn't rule out US forces firing upon Israeli jets if Israel launches a preemptive strike against Iran.

I guess obama plans on community organizing the Middle East. The anti missle system that was to be placed in Eastern Europe was a very important deterent against a missile attack on europe or the US. As Charles stated it was to destroy iranian missles before they began their descent. Also the airborne laser system was very advanced technology that would destroy incoming missles from anywhere. obamais anti American and wants to see America reduced to a scond rate power.

Who knows how long before the Iranians have the nuke to launch against Israel, But I am betting the Israelis have a good idea. And will be ready for it.
What kind of an ally are we to threaten Israel for defneding itself. Shame on us.
